Didge Pen
Испания
Добавлен 8 окт 2023
My name is Sergi, in this channel I am following Dubravko's exercises on Didgeridoo. You will see my progression and I will share the way I address some exercises or how I felt them.
Working on
The playing part, is without any post gain, as you'll suffer, the levels are high too often. It is very hard to find the sweet spot when you don't know how aggressive or loud you will play.
This is just me sharing me, no help calls, but that's what I'm working on. Order on chaos
Thanks to @FreddieVeggie @dojorich @DuendeDidgeridoo and all of you there enjoying the progress of a didge player as me. Special hi 5 to @victorvicomusica

Practising paralell playing
Просмотров 3712 месяца назад
After 2 weeks of holidays I expected to be untrained, but I find out a very positive come back. The didge is one that needs lot of air or lot of lip tension control. The key is A, from @DuendeDidgeridoo as well as the exercise I am practising here, in a free way #didgeridoo #paralellplaying #music
The secret of didgeridoo practise
Просмотров 2,5 тыс.2 месяца назад
This is a joke video, but I enjoyed watching for days, all the footage from my didgeridoo homework. So I decided to wrap up the most important moments of my practise, the struggles. The exercises as are all based on @DuendeDidgeridoo channel and his MasterClass. If you want to do a challenge like this one, try some of his videos, and work on it, for 1 or 2 weeks. Thanks for watch this nonsense

After 2 weeks playing almost daily, following @DuendeDidgeridoo instructions, this is the result. I felt it very hard on the AC (of couse I am far from doing it properly). I enjoyed thou, all the possibilities explored, isolating voice from drone, trying pulses, precompressions and toots. Highly recommended to try ir yourselfs, and recording the progression. #didgeridoo #everydropcounts #duhomework #music Okay so this is the 3rd video of 3 (maybe a 4th one will come). The 1st video was about a starting point playing a some pattern. 10 days later, we saw some progression. 20 days later, (now) we see better quality. At least for myself, sometimes is hard to record that feeling. I will do a video probably at the end of the week or next one, with a pol...

Replying to the challenge proposal from @DuendeDidgeridoo and following @dojorich I also will share how I progress in this beautiful melody. I am freestyling, I hope it's correct, please let me know. In 2 weeks I will give a better sample, polished 🙏 Time stamps 0:45 - level 2 2:00 - level 3 2:50 - level 4
Every(day) practise is useful

After almost constant practise I see results. I share this free practise, it was after some exercices, I got few minutes left so I had fun, and I was surprised with the results. I played same pattern "tawaka tawaka tawa" with variations. The mic is facing the wall, avoiding clipping 🤩 but I boost the video with "Dolby On" app, let me know if it sounds too artificial. I dont know about EQ yet. F...

I've been blocking my own practise lately. This is the best part from an hour playing. This month I will leave the didge there, and play it daily. Challenge accepted. The blue towel is meant to clean the didge after playing, as it is taught. Learning how to mic myself, sorry for the inconvenience :) Always following 🗣@DuendeDidgeridoo #didgesprout #everydropcounts #Duhomework #didgeridoo

A new didge, needs time to understand for an average player like me, so this is a good motivation to get to know, the new didge, without using old tricks or knowledge and understand how do I play like I do. It was a very bad session, but I did learn things from hearing myself, and now I want to practise something different that I just realized... 0:00 Warm-up (skipped) 0:00:43 Intro 0:01:23 Kno...

This video started as a random practise before my formal job. After a while, I realize about one exercise I could practise and upload here. Finally, I decided to upload the whole thing so you can see how rigid am I at the begging, with the cold, and how I warm up progressively. Hope you enjoy your own practise. Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts! I also feel like I cannot play anymore.
Axel, I just kept playing the same way and suddenly yesterday I felt a new kind of pattern that leads me to flow, I may post one nice track soon. Big hug!
Si no, quan ho torno a sentir, no recordo perquè em semblava interessant. Quedem un dia i compartim aquestes coses!!!
Aquest comentari val per 10! Que guai Victor gracies pel feedback. Lo dels dos micros... Pues es una tasca a mig fer. Vaig començar aixi perque un micro sol no pillava be els aguts, el dia del test, pero ja ho he deixat aixi 😅 Gràcies company! ❤
Great !
Didge world is so much better with you!!
Made it later into the video and saw your usb audio input 😂 Apologies for getting ahead of myself with the last comment, rushed to help before finishing the video 😂
@@PsychoSk8r4bg no apologies needed!
Well described and nice video ❤ Keep on going 🙌
You're on the right track, bro, regaining that flow-state and enjoying it is key. Music wise you can always sample cuts of your flows, mix them and try playing it that way.
@@stinkfinger1942 🤩
Wonderful description of where you are at! Some things I relate to completely and some things are the opposite for me. 🤗
Great video 🤗
When the struggle is over that’s when you know you are dead. So enjoy it while it lasts!
@@FreddieVeggie wise freddie!
@@DidgePen more like smartass :P I like when the playback / recording is simple. The good thing about the looper is that it's also an audio interface, and makes recording small snippets and playing them back very simple. It's not a _great_ audio interface, but maybe it can offer more immediacy for you.
Excellent!
Still working on it :)
Please dont stop making videos! I am learning a lot from you.
@@Manoucito Oh really?? You got it then! I needed that 🥰 thank you
SOLID! Notice how your embouchure will adjust over time to become thicker and more stable with this didge! Your breathing will also change. You will most probably stop following it for so long after the push. This is an incredibly good path for a didge player!
Thank you sensei! I am feeling some adjustments, very happy with the progression. Thanks for the tips
👍
Oh yes, one of the most annoying but helpful devices Btw, do you follow any strength training exercises by dubravko as well? (Time to buulk man :) )
@@bartomiejpopeda1291 I think I am. I am following his instructions (trying) from masterclass. Follow the pace is hard af 😂

😅 This is glorious! It's so nice to see that other people practice the way I do!
Still I do not own metronome playing, and the time signatures... Well I am starting to wrasp something
@@DidgePenBut your speed has gone up dramatically! It's motivating for me to see this. And there is always the next level to get to. Just like there is always another didge to want. 😊
I am SO proud of you! ❤
@@DuendeDidgeridoo thanks for your guide and encouraging 🙇 Now I am practising with your "paralel playing" video. Sooo fun

Solid! That AC needs more attention, but you are going in the right direction! It will go even smoother if you relax....
@@DuendeDidgeridoo Thank you very much!!!! I will try to relax 🤩🥰🥰🥰
Congrats. I still have to record mine..
You've been very busy recording your music ❤
It's so awesome that you are being diligent in the homework! 👏
Yea, hawk tua ,spit on that thang!
made me laugh 😂
Isn't it an avatar song ?
@@slayerdrake5901 it could be, another comment suggested a brazillian rythim "Coco". What I did try is to emule some drum sounds that creates this ambience. Any song that I should pay attention to? Let me know!
I’m really curious if you ever play with other people and what that’s like. Is there anywhere for me to see you play with an ensemble?
@@krekcabnow2910 thanks for your interest. I do not have anything worth sharing, I did some colabs with friend's bands or jamming. But I really sucked on adding variations, I've been more a bass companion 😅 beautiful, but nothing shinny

@@Jenniridoo thanks to you for being always supportive
I could water an entire greenhouse! 😂 Brilliant way to save water. 💦 Are we going to get daily snippets from your practice?
Not daily, but I really hope to accomplish this little challenge to play an hour daily and record this same patern at the end of July. We'll see
@@DidgePenI'll be waiting for the reports! I already enjoy your playing so any refinements will be a delightful bonus. 🎉
good job!
thank youu I'm super motivated with this

Thanks for the tip
Sounds good, decent didge player! From the sound of this, I would definitely increase the inner diameter of your wax ring!!!
I am currently try to narrow my mouth, like tensioning lips and jaw, that may be the reason you feel it needs more "freedom". I even asked the maker to widen the mouthpiece for a better vocalization, and now I struggle with articulations... 😅 Thanks for your encouragement and your tip
You'll be blowing through a bigger hole eventually, take your time! You are really precise in many ways, but the only time I ever hear lack of depth - it's either lack of breath control or a small mouthpiece! Have a great evening brother!
The horse song is amazing! I actually haven't heard something like that ever. I've heard many train songs, many chase songs many animals doing stuff songs, but never a horse song. The push pull part is really really cool. It is also amazing how weak you still are ;-) In a year of practice like this, you will feel like you've landed from Krypton. Just keep pushing and pulling the envelope, watch it bend.
Really??? thanks!!! I love this pattern I will work on it what a super push you give me here! aaaaaaaaaaaaggggnghbwsgbawqd ❤❤❤
This practice will get you somewhere! I watched the PCPP with a twist and what I notice is a) you will benefit from BTE b) you are late for the PC- try to explode at least on the first beat and then induce that same feeling every time a beat group (articulation of sorts) starts
Thanks a lot, I will do tomorrow. I am still finding my BTE, my homunculus.
I'm very much enjoying your explorations. Keep it up!
I will Rebies! Appreciate it
Hearing myself, I can see a very weak practise. Anyway, If I learned from watching it, hopefully you can find some use as well
Well done! Now a fun didge tutorial in spanish 🎉 available Thanks for having mentioned my name 😊 I don't understand everything

Yep, I am on a long weekend holidays and did not bring my portable set, so... Raw didge practise with a little boost from a Dolby App
Here's a tip for you: Write timestamps in your video description beginning with 00:00 Introduction and then one after the other; RUclips will automatically generate "chapters" with jump marks underneath the video. Quite the variety of topics covered, I feel though for intentional practice you're not spending enough time on each point. I was considering lengthening my 5 min segments to 15 minutes each (so 15 minutes of soft drone, e.g. instead of 5) so I can really dive in more (yeah, frankly we should spend an hour a day on each topic but who's gonna feed my kids? my patreons surely won't hehe - also who will suffer through watching this??) Thanks for the shout-out and I'm looking forward to hearing you in person soon again!!
Thanks for your time, Freddie! I will explore that chapters things, I was like... Idk how it gets done, also. You are quite right, that 1h session could be more focused on practising one single block or exercise. I wanted to do many things at once, and I felt the load. Hopefully some people can see that just practising is not the goal, but exercise one thing only is more beneficial. I wanted to also point out your way of practising, as it looks more driven towards a point and less improvising. I will improvise a bit more as I am still finding the how and when. Please, keep on didjing and doing this good feedback
