I loved this game but we were poor and our computer didn't have enough oomph to run it on full resolution, so I had to settle with the lowest setting. Eventually I bought a joystick for the computer and that's when I was really able to enjoy the game.

I played this game a lot back in the day.

Good job ! This game is my guilty pleasure, used to play when i was a child and loved it despite how unbalanced it was... Almost cried several time on this mission too... I can see you know your stuff ! Starting with AA because the Alien Airplane is coming regularly and trying to destroy Central... And Golden Pulsar destroyed by rocket launcher troop cause you know the AI is going to use them to destroy bunker... While regular pulsar or alien are literally getting too close to Bunker... Mission 15 was among the hardest with mission 23 i think for me...

I played this game ages ago, I remember I thought the story and premise were cool and graphics were good, but never got the hang of the controls well enough to get past the first few missions. Wonder if it is available as abandonware anywhere.

ah the nastalgia... I have beat this game more times than I care to admit...

I loved this game as a kid. I loved the rpg elements and everything. I love helping the varaptoids and serving on the Deathblow, and then becoming flight lead after the NAP between humans and varaptoids and getting to assign flights with both races, and the then commanding the Montgomery as its captain it really felt like i was really earned all the promotions and then eventually working the the syliacs to fight the lighters. i thought so many characters were cool like Max. game holds a special place with me. played it through dozens of times. i was 7 or 8 at the time. my dad got it for me in the bargin bin at the local discount store.

I beat this game back in the day. It wasn't well received at the time, but I thought it was still pretty innovative.

this feels up there with C&C RA1 putting camo bunkers behind trees, only way to know is to hold alt? to display HPs

just noticed... this games intro would suggest we have signifigantly better tech than we do... but its just basic stuff we have space ships, fighters, a destroyer of some kind... but none of that seems true to the actual game play

yeah im thinking the thing that hurt this the most was that lack of a voiced mission intro, most everyone else was doing it, feels missing

my problem with this was the gold chariots once those started up just couldn't seem to hurt them

A group of former Origin staffers and members of the original Privateer team got together to create this space sim, which is a spiritual successor to the original Privateer. You play Mike Marlowe, a romantic Han Solo-like character who finds himself on the run after scoring with a certain princess. In his run from the law, he finds a haven and steady jobs through a mysterious woman who eventually gets you caught into the main game plot involving the obligatory alien device and a group of warring factions, the IPEC, the Scavage, the Mayjr, etc. You are able to freely decide your relationship with every faction by the way you treat other ships, the missions you take, and other plot decisions which can lead you to 5 possible endings. There are two selectable flight models (the standard Wing Commander-like and an inertial one that resembles I-War's). Gameplay consists of standard space "sim" action, with a series of missions that range from the usual patrols to bounty hunts, ambushes, all-out confrontations, etc. There's no trading whatsoever in the game, and the cargo space in the ship is used only to measure the quantity of equipment you can carry, and speaking of equipment you have a humongous selection of weapons (under three categories), missiles and other goodies like active/passive radars, cloaking devices, jamming mechanisms etc. As well as 6 ships to fly in. Multiplayer support is also available, with a persistent pilot who has to gain money and goods by duking it out on the net or via modem/lan in plain deathmatch, team battles or cooperative missions.

I couldn't do uploading those missions myself without anyone's help. also, you forget to add some dialogue in which different endings can appear between the alliance and disciple side. And it can be many different choices such as failure and winning could happen in some missions.

Man I was trying to find this game for YEARS , the game barley exist on the internet with little gameplay footage or web articles about the game or lets play playthrough of it . the last time I remember playing this game was 18 years ago , I was playing the demo version. now I found the game through browsing "Myabandonware" website and decided to search for gameplay on RUclips only to find 1 playthrough of the game with less than 100 views.. the game most likely flooped hard got buried by the coemption also having poor advertising witch adds to the factors . Shame the game had interesting design presentation , I like some of the design of the vehicles the game could be worked up as an RTS game.
