    🎉Do you get a neutral light when you shift between ranges? I have the CK 4020 SE Hydrostatic and have never been able to get a light. Dealer said he thought it should show but I could bring it in and have it checked. It is not a major deal but there is a light that lights up for neutral before cranking it. Fantastic job explaining things in all of your videos, specifically the maintenance related videos. One thing that would be super helpful would be proving links to the oils and accessories that you use/recommend. A lot of RUclipsrs put up affiliation links (I have no idea how that works to make you $$$$) but regardless just a bit more description of the product name in the 'comments' section of the video would be very helpful. Hey Mike, same thoughts here. I grew up with only having the manual and I know the longevity of it is well proven. Just worry about the cost if the electronic should have a problem. Hopefully it will last as well, since that's pretty much what most tractors have now days. Thanks for checking it out and have a good one.

  • @willhutchinson3242
    @willhutchinson3242 18 дней назад

    Hi Jeff, I’ve had tractors with both manual and auto/electronic PTOs (Kioti LB1914 and CK2620/3510 respectively). I agree that the manual (clutch type) is much smoother starting out. With the auto/electronic one, I always reduce engine speed to idle before engaging. The electronic one with the auto on/off feature is too abrupt for my 60” flail mower at 540 speed. It’s been a while since I’ve used my post hole auger attachment to see how well the auto on/off feature works with that as you raise it up and down. If the auto electronic one ever fails, I have no idea how you fix that?

    • @backyardcountrylivin1514
      @backyardcountrylivin1514 18 дней назад

      Hi Will, totally agree with you. The features of the electronic are nice, but as I said in the video, a lot more pieces to fail. Seems like having a slip clutch on the implement may help, at least keeps from breaking shear pins on the abrupt starts. Like you said, if the electronic ever fails I would hate to see what the repair would cost. Thanks for checking it out and commenting.

  • @prow6586
    @prow6586 18 дней назад

    I prefer the manual by a long shot. The electronic engagement on my KIOTI CK3510se is anything but smooth. Plus aligning the pto shaft with the tractor is sooo much easier with the manual clutch engagement. As for which one will last longer? My first 2 tractors lasted 30 years and 20 years without any repairs. Time will tell with the electronic PTO. Personally I don't trust the longevity of the electric. Stop reading here to avoid my KIOTI rant: As an example- my KIOTI did a regen every 25-30 hours without a problem. At 250 hours it tried to regen but the computer shut it down and limited me to the "LIMP" mode. Had 4 different error codes run across the hour meter, but the dealer said they MUST put it on the computer in their shop to find out the problem....that means I have to take the tractor to the dealer or have them transport it. They picked it up and said it would be 7-10 days. Well, it's been over a month because "we can't get the parts from KIOTI" They need to replace a wiring harness. and a solenoid and a switch and the parts have been on order for 3 weeks and still not available to ship out. So if I have a choice between anything mechanical/manual and electronic-I'm going manual on these tractors. I get the feeling KIOTI is a little like JD not wanting the owners to do any repairs on their equipment . No owners manuals,, parts hard to get, no explanation of the error codes generated by the computer etc.

    • @backyardcountrylivin1514
      @backyardcountrylivin1514 18 дней назад

      Totally agree about the manual engagement. That system has been around for many years and has always been very reliable. Sorry to hear about your troubles with the regens. I think it’s like a lot of others things in todays world. Too many electronic gadgets, sensors, emissions, safeties, etc. Just more stuff to break and cause headaches. I hope you are able to gets things squared away and get it back soon. Thanks for checking out the video and commenting. Good luck.

      Sorry to rant...liked your video and good comparison of the two systems. I wish I had seen your video before I bought my CK3510. Might not have bought it. Most of my tractor work is with PTO driven equipment-tiller, mowers, post hole. I don't think the KIOTI is available with the clutch engagement and the HST. My NH TC33D had HST and clutch engagement. So I know they are available (or were 20 years ago) Thanks again for the good clear interesting video.

    I have a Massey MF1835E and I've experienced these as well. When I find it difficult to shift sometimes, what I find to work for me is giving the front loader a quick drop or lift and the gear will shift smoothly. For the 4WD, usually all I have to do is move forward or reverse about an inch for it to disengage. I will have to try the lifting of the front tires. Thanks.

    I bought a used early 90s MF 231 with 232 loader, box blade, disc setup, front forks, argriX brush hog, and a grader/scraper blade for $4500. Hydraulics were not working and the 3 point hitch wasn't working. Lots of butchered wiring and had to replace a bunch of parts and 3 months in the shop I now have a functioning tractor that works completely for just under 10k. Having watched way too many tractor accessory videos, this is one where there is actually something unique, both from a this is super simple, to this is more difficult but awesome (the 4 wheel drive indicator). Great job on the video.

      It’s real close. MF has the advantage with Ag tires, gear transmission and it’s heavier. But Kioti is 4WD. I would have to give the edge to the MF. Gear transmission has more torque. Thanks for checking it out and commenting.

    Jeff, great video. I agree it seems like nobody wants to talk about the DPF. But like you, I've had zero problems with my DPF and regens. I'm also worried about want the cost is going to be "if" it ever fails. I have a CK3510 identical to yours, exact mine is a 22 model. It's great to see you post videos, because there's not a lot of them out there on the CK3510. Thanks! keep the videos coming. Tony

      Hi Tony, good news is for the most part, I'm hearing that people are having little to no issues with the DPF and regens. I was talking to a farmer friend just this morning and he has a combination of tractors, combines and many other diesel engine equipment that all has DPF. A few pieces of his equipment have better than 4000 hours and are still on the original DPF filter. He did bring those into the dealership I think around 2000 hours and have the filters cleaned. He said it was around $400 per tractor. That did make me feel better knowing that hopefully these filters will last a long time. Thank you for watching the video and commenting.

    Great video, and thank you for sharing. I'm interested in getting one of these. My question is, do you get more, less, or the same up and down travel as you would with the oem part? Thank you!

    • @backyardcountrylivin1514
      @backyardcountrylivin1514 Месяц назад

      Thats a great question. I haven't actually compared it. I'm thinking it's about the same, but I will take a closer look and compare the travel of the old one and see if I can give you a better answer.

      @tibs2059 Месяц назад

      Hey, thanks for getting back to me. I went ahead and just ordered one off eBay. The value I will get out of this, if it isn't the same as oem for any reason will likely be much more. I'm glad you shared this though. I've been having to move mine up and down a lot lately, cutting a new road, so this will be a game changer for sure.

      @@tibs2059 Awesome, glad the video was helpful for you. Another thing, you may already have one, is a hydraulic top link. It is a game changer when doing box blade or land plane work.

      @tibs2059 Месяц назад

      Yes, I do have the Hydraulic Top Link and will never not have one moving forward. Big-time game charger, as you said for sure. My order just came and from top to bottom you get a total of 2.5 inches of movement with this part. More then anyone should ever need for there box blade. Thanks again for making this video. You are the only one that has done a video on this part and this is going to be another game charger for me. Good times and God bless!

    I've had same/similar experience with my CK3510. Every 25-25 hours. I use my tractor for mowing mostly. So, It's at around 2,500 RPM most of the time. You have me thinking now though. I've pushed that regen button a couple of times. Initially though it was required. (No owners manual available while out in the woods or fields) I'm wondering where I left the button - On or OFF. I'll find out today. I use additives also. Reminds me of all the money spent on STP we used to add to the oil in the 60s and 70s. To this day I don't know if it did anything or not. I've read and watch a bunch of reviews about oil and fuel additive and the words Snake Oil come to mind. Can't believe all the salesmen out there! Also I wonder if some day down the line after warranties have expired if a bypass of the DPF will be developed. Especially if replacements and cleaning do cost $400 to a couple thousand dollars. I'm curious what harm would be done by eliminating it. Never needed one prior to the EPA and other Faucci types from the government telling us what's best for us and the green folks. 🤠🤠🥴

    • @backyardcountrylivin1514
      @backyardcountrylivin1514 Месяц назад

      Totally agree about all the crazy regulations these days. Who knows if these additives really work. Next thing you know they will outlaw all the older equipment that doesn’t have the EPA stuff on it. Thanks for checking out the video and commenting.

    DPF filters can be cleaned. It’s not that hard to make a cleaning system. Haven’t checked Utube for how to make but it’s basically just a pump / piping and a cleaning solution. Not sure why so many worries about DPF regeneration. Just wait until DEF is what you’re dealing with. Now that’s the real nightmare

    • @backyardcountrylivin1514
      @backyardcountrylivin1514 Месяц назад

      That’s great information. I will look and see if anyone has posted a DPF filter cleaning video. I have heard some of the farmers with the bigger tractors talk about the troubles with the DEF. Thank you for the input, watching and commenting.
