Excellent video! The English translation in the subtitles is MUCH APPRECIATED! Listed many of the forms that were handed down, and their names clearly translated! Never saw "Duo Gang" translated as "to cover up the hard", so that is really nice nugget of information.

I'd do Duo Gang as it looks in the Wong Hon Fan book titled "Duo Gang" in Chinese, and "Dodging Hardness" as translated by Paul Brennan (Brennan Translation Site). The postures are soo beautiful It's like a living, moving library of Qixing Tanglangquan technique, with the principles and theories all in there, within the movement. I love Praying Mantis Kung Fu... I move with less than half the agility of the gentleman performing in this video! MUCH RESPECT TO YOU ALL!!!

Thanks for posting this video. I like when he is going through the moves slowly with the names of the movements. I wish I understood what he was saying in the beginning of the video, as I'm sure it is just as important, informative, and interesting as the performance of the techniques.

Traditional Chinese martial arts fighting moves are useless
All fighting moves of all martial arts come from traditional Chinese styles. To say that they are useless means that you have NEVER practiced a true traditional Chinese style. It is always possible to prove the exact opposite, even against moves from other martial arts.
Have you practiced any Kung Fu style or martial art and for how long?
@@zhagengwu People are pretty closed minded when it come to any traditional marial art often they cant make it work because they are so use to the western approach of fighting which ia to dodge completely or absorb on coming strikes (Shell up) . Whereas styles in Kung Fu we often attack/block simutaneously and meet an strike head on and stuff them. The former might be easier for people to learn due to our natural responses. It takes actual training to get people to actually take the more proactive movement. Done wrong often leaves you open.

I was wondering if anyone knew another application to that good move where the opponent is pushed away. It's the only one I've seen, I was toying with perhaps using a single leg take down instead. It's just if I push the opponent, they may well come back. Or is it a liver strike? not really a push. Thank you and thanks for posting.
Hi Rob, The video presents only some possible applications of the technique. The applications can be many, of course. The push is not just a push but also a shot inside. I was a direct student of Yantai Master Zhong Lianbao and a disciple of Master Lin Dongzhu (grandson of GM Lin Lin Jingshan), these applications are their method. www.longzhao.net

non so chi sei ma tu non sai nemmeno cosa è lo shenfa. Che esperienza hai ? Non credo molta, se non a una tastiera. Se vuoi provare l'indirizzo dove insegno è ovunque, e a Settembre inizierà un nostro Corso di Formazione Insegnanti a Roma, puoi venire, magari impari qualcosa.
In effetti di Shen Fa non si vede manco l'ombra... probabilmente ti dai troppe arie e di Kung Fu non ci hai capito nulla.
