    WOW!!! I’m so happy for you. I got all emotional 🥲. Congratulations!!! From this short video I can tell how powerful the love is between the 2 of you. Again I’m so happy for you. I’m not sure if if you know this but my wife was very sick. She started to suffer from extreme anxiety in July 2022. She tried so hard to fight her illnesse. Meditation,exercise, yoga, brain stimulation therapy, anti anxiety meds, etc. She took her life on Dec 27, 2022. It was really hard for me. I hope I never have to go through this ever again. But life must go on. One month ago, I met someone on Eharmony. We clicked instantly. We love each other so much. I’m looking forward for my new life. Take care 😊

    Hey Funny Face, I appreciate a little feedback when feedback is due. I think almost everyone is like that. I suppose that as of right now, Pickles the Famous Actor or Singer is a fantasy, and as such she probably doesn’t garner a lot of, “C’mon, Pickles, you can do it!” type encouragement from other people. To make the fantasy a reality you need an internal locus of control, tenacity, and a self-renewing source of inspiration. So I see where you’re going with this. Teaching ill-behaved children, however, is not a fantasy. You didn’t even pick the kids, and then they did everything they could to discourage your efforts to help them. *S H O C K I N G ! ! !* I understand your desire to be internally motivated, but my guess is that with people it’s probably better to stay motivated via your normal empathic feedback loop. If the feedback doesn't come it doesn't come. Being a moderately successful actor or singer is very difficult, hence special tricks are desirable to maintain your determination. Like you said, it’s not easy. When you do become famous there will be new problems. General George Patton described how, “For over a thousand years Roman conquerors returning from the wars enjoyed the honor of triumph, a tumultuous parade. In the procession came trumpeters, musicians and strange animals from conquered territories, together with carts laden with treasure and captured armaments. The conqueror rode in a triumphal chariot, the dazed prisoners walking in chains before him. A slave stood behind the conqueror whispering in his ear a warning: that all glory is fleeting." So at the highest levels, whether the feedback is cheers or jeers, it’s probably best to hear it and remain unfazed. Here is a story about a based Zen master who didn’t care what anyone thought of him. *Is That So?* A beautiful girl in the village was pregnant. Her angry parents demanded to know who the father was. At first resistant to confess, the anxious and embarrassed girl finally pointed to Hakuin, the Zen master whom everyone previously revered for living such a pure life. When the outraged parents confronted Hakuin with their daughter's accusation, he simply replied "Is that so?" When the child was born, the parents brought it to the Hakuin, who now was viewed as a pariah by the whole village. They demanded that he take care of the child since it was his responsibility. "Is that so?" Hakuin said calmly as he accepted the child. For many months he took very good care of the child until the daughter could no longer withstand the lie she had told. She confessed that the real father was a young man in the village whom she had tried to protect. The parents immediately went to Hakuin to see if he would return the baby. With profuse apologies they explained what had happened. "Is that so?" Hakuin said as he handed them the child. And I’ll bet the baby never said, “Thanks, Hakuin!”

    • @picklebreak8493
      @picklebreak8493 5 лет назад

      This whole comment is great. haha, thanks!! Thank you for the words of encouragement and wisdom when it comes to receiving feedback from others and garnering internal inspiration and motivation. 'Is that so?' is such a great story for people in the helping profession to hear. Being able to keep calm, listen to the needs of the person, and doing whatever we can to help them in that particular moment. This approach would go miles further in getting through to the person we are trying to help and would have a much longer lasting effect on them; modeling love and kindness rather than just speaking of it. And also, being reminded that even though the child may not give positive feedback for our actions, we are doing this for a greater purpose than our own satisfaction. It's hard sometimes in life when we get so sucked into the here and now that we neglect to see the bigger picture. The profound 'why's' of everything that we do. Things become so much clearer and grounding when we remember our own whys for all that we do and all that we are. Thank you for the chat, always a pleasure :) :)

    Hi Pickles, here's my two cents on your theory of physical, emotional and mental energy. Physical energetic needs are primary. Abraham Maslow's hierarchy of needs begins with basic physiological needs like air, water and food. Until these needs are met the higher needs (safety, social belonging, self esteem, self-actualization and transcendence) don't stand a chance. With physical energy we naturally think of diet, but other factors include getting enough restful sleep, exercise and sun exposure (don't you love the spring sunshine? I hope the black flies aren't too bad where you are). Although you're right that a tired body doesn't always mean a tired mind, it sure doesn't help--just wait a few years! I am a fan of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator. It's a test (free online) that measures your preferences on four dichotomies: Introversion/Extroversion, Sensing/Intuition, Thinking/Feeling, and Judging/Perceiving. What you describe as "emotional" energy equates to the Feeling category, and what you call "mental" is what Myers-Briggs describes as Thinking. So although everyone both thinks and feels, we all have a preference and a greater aptitude for one or the other. Although we can sign our name with either hand, we naturally and habitually use either the right or the left. In terms of energy, I believe anything that saps our strength will generally show up first in our weaker areas of competence, so that a stressed Thinking type will loose their emotional cool (weakened Feeling) before they loose their Thinking abilities (analysis, reason, logical decision making, self-control, etc.). Personal example: I am an Introverted, Intuitive, Feeling, Judging type (INFJ). I was up on a ladder for several days last week rewiring the electrical work on my ceiling. It was exhausting and, although I was physically and 'mentally' tired at the end of each day, I was kind of exhilarated 'emotionally' (because I hate wiring and made good progress). If I had been a Thinking type, I might have been emotionally frustrated by all the petty problems I faced, but still able to appreciate the new circuits in a practical way. So if you're thinking theoretically then it makes sense to imagine separate tanks of energy, because the tank idea discriminates between the different kinds of energy and allows comparisons. And if you incorporate the idea of a individual hierarchy of energies based on personality type, the model becomes more accurate and even predictive. Of course at a macro level everything is connected to everything else, and energy--whatever that is--merely ebbs and flows from state to state. The leaf is the tree is the forest is wet is dry is changing color is decomposing. Is budding and so on. Glad to hear about your acting classes. And thanks for all the interesting videos.

      Hello!! The blacklies are surprisingly not that bad right now, I keep expecting them to come out in full force, but not yet. Are you in Russia? How are the blackflies where you are?? At first I found it interesting that you related Maslow's Hierarchy of needs to our energy, but upon further thought... Meeting Needs = More Energy = Motivation to meet more needs = More Energy and so on. I took the test and I am an INFJ as well! .... as if haha. But when I read the description of our type it was pretty mind blowing--- felt like a way to finely categorize the way I am-- The way I think that determines the way that I do. It is pretty interesting to see all of the combinations of personality types that are related to Jung's Psychological Theory. I love how these complex personality types illustrate that we are all so different because we see the world differently and come to conclusions differently. It's a nice and simple way of understanding why we differ from each other as the same (human) race. I hope your rewiring worked out!! I feel like you just came up with your own psychological theory of how we work; Individual hierarchies of energies based on personality type. I love that, you are so thoughtful and wise. Thanks for sharing!!

      @picklebreak8493 5 лет назад

      I just thought of something: Do I think you are a wise because we value the same types of things in life, which is based on our shared personality type? Would I see you as having loads of wisdom if we were different personality types....If I didn't aspire to be like you one day?? hm. I will think about this one, thank you!!

      @@picklebreak8493 Hi, No I am not in Russia, although I did put that on my youtube account since I am the 'Russian Bot.' I just spent four days at my place in Maine. The flies are fairy bad there, even in the sun. I rent a place in New York because my job is here. Are you an INFJ too? I once had a friend who was an ESTP (complete opposite). We used to talk for hours, and I thought she was incredible because she could instantly understand all kinds of things that were totally beyond me, and she could never figure out how I could 'guess' right so often. In general opposite types are complementary, while similar types can communicate on a deep level, but they also share the same weaknesses. Thank you for the big compliment!

      Oh ok! nice Maine looks beautiful, I see why you would keep your place there!! That seems like a lot travelling for work though! That makes sense that opposite personalities would compliment each other, I would be so interested to have everyone in life take the test haha. I'm so interested in people and how friendships work. I did get 3 of my good friends to take the test and two of them are ENTJ, so half different, half the same... and we get along so well and naturally!!! You're welcome.... thank you :)

    Hi pickle break I just read your sweet reply on your grandfather's celebration of life video so I was interested in seeing who you are. I just picked this one. I found what I was put on this earth to do in my late twenties, doing what you love to get by is the best thing you can for your self. I play a little guitar -- getting better, I'm not a singer but I am always humming a tune. If you want to be a entertainer I say start practicing make it a second job. Like you sead it would be great to make the big time but if it doesn't happen it would still be ok. Just make sure that you have something to fall back on. The point of trying is because that's what you like to do. Good luck Andy.

      Thank you so much Andy. I'm glad you enjoyed. Tata was one of a kind. It's so nice to have people like tats to remind us all of how precious our time and our life is.

    You say your dancing is "not that good," yet you define good in terms of an audience. But surely by moving and singing to music, you are doing something that’s good and even healing for you--physically, emotionally and spiritually. Your point about the relative difficulty in learning new things as an adult-when a critical ego gets in the way-reminded me of a book I read years age called Zen Mind, Beginner's Mind, by Shunryu Suzuki. The first sentence reads: “In the beginner's mind there are many possibilities, but in the expert's there are few.” His idea was that by cultivating the 'beginner's mind' we become truly engaged with the process of living, and avoid the paralyzing effects of ego and self-awareness. In a different context, Christ said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.” I would suggest that your goal is an aspect of your ego and, although this is healthy and necessary, you are more likely to attain it if you adopt an unselfconscious attitude. What is it the bumper sticker says? Dance Like No One is Watching. No one means even YOU!

      Wow!! It's amazing how an oustider (you) can see things so clearly for someone else.. I think this switch from a self-aware / self-conscious person to a child-like beginner and un-selfconscious being is exactly the change that I've been trying to figure out; what I need to achieve my goals. Being a little controversial here, I have recently discovered that the effects of marijuana have allowed me to tap into an unselfconscious mind and spirit and has allowed me to find moments of clarity in my life. In my teens I had an unhealthy habit of smoking pot. I quit for about 6 years and just recently started using it, occassionally. It has been so spiritual for me and I couldn't quite put my finger on why, but this is exactly it. I am finally able to truly let go and tap into my true self, this is how I rediscovered the importance of dance in my life. My hope is to be able to think, feel and live this way on my own. Thanks for the book suggestion, I would actually love to read that. :D Thanks again, Cheers!
