Yea it dose, am planning on doing a video on the full history of the development for the Gol, but long story short, this car was design by a team made half by Brazilians and half by Germans, and wen the Brazilian design team went to Germany they fell in love with the scirocco looks

sort of, diesel passenger cars in brazil are banned here, but the VW Saveiro, a pickup version of the Gol came with a dealer installed water cooled diesel engine starting from 85 because of a loophole in the legislation that alowed cargo vehicles to use diesel engines, but they are super rare

@@eraummenino3011 I do wonder if that applies to imported cars, since down south, argentina (hello neighbor :D) we got the diesel versions of the Voyage/Gacel/Senda and for the Gol but for the second gen.

@@osvaldovidela6466 from the early 70s to the 90s imported cars were banned in Brazil, but some cars made it here, know I guy that has a diesel W123 Mercedes here. Howdy neighbor lol

@@eraummenino3011 Im very surprised to hear that. With fermented sugar cane you could run the diesel cars very cheaply. When and why did they ban them there? I drive a 2000 Golf 1.9 TDI I bought new and love it. Diesel is the way to go.

@@ChaChiVooDoohappened in the late 70s because of the oil crisis, the government made a bigger push to using sugar cane ethanol on gasoline style engines then diesels like the rest of the world

you guys had the later models as a sedan and wagon, sold as the Fox from 1987 to 1993 i belive, it was alredy the 1.8 water cooled engine with fuel injection, and there was a 1983 Gol like mine for sale on bring a trailer some time ago
