Wasteful? Perhaps. It allows people to potentially access many more resources than they need, which is why so many people are dying of diseases related to eating too much etc. Primitive? Says the person advocating for a system of collective property that governed humanity for hundreds of thousands of years before the advent of capitalism. I believe humanity's default is to band into groups and kill each other for resources rather than just trade. Relies on misunderstandings? Not really. I assume "people like you" means people who subscribe to capitalism. In which case, yeah, capitalism does need people to respect each other's property rights. Any system that you want to work needs the cooperation of those involved, voluntary or otherwise. I'm not quite sure if that's supposed to be an insult, but it's a pretty fucking weak one if it is.

Did you go to private school? If not, socialism. Did you use public roads? If so, socialism, do I need to go on? Did you even watch the video? It answers your questions, you dont live in capitalism or socialism, you live somewhere in the middle. The reason you have to work for $9 hour for 8 hours a day is because of the inefficiency and wastefulness of capitalism. Also you didn't recieve unemployment benefits directly, but you did receive the benefits. If there was none, and inequality was unchallenged, you would have millions of hungry people at your door step. Ask yourself what kind of world you want to live in? The fact is there is not enough work for everyone. Is this a bad thing? No. Unemployment is inevitable and should be welcomed, and should be the goal of any decent society. Once you open the can of open mindness you will come to these same conclusions, unless you are, A: part of the 1% and not willing to give up the life of power and luxury, B: believe you will somehow be part of group A, or C: uneducated and a biggot. A and B require forms of self delusion and/or narcissism.

You usually get what you pay for........If you pay nothing .....well........ Btw, the last president of the ussr was born without any advantage, what one would consider not well off. How many capitalist presidents were born on farms, poor and still have the opportunity to make a change in their country? We see technology replacing us now, look at the auto checkout machines in the supermarket. The problem is that with capitalism, this tech is used to replace us and put us back into unemployment. Because of the increase supply of labour employers can offer lower wages, worse conditions etc. Government job creation tries to combat this, but only waste tax payers funds, it would be cheaper just to pay an unemployment benefit. This unemployment is not the devil which its made out to be, it should be embraced, and the goal of any decent society. Technology replacing us will never be fully accepted as long as its creating inequality, once we remove capitalism, we can fully utilise technology to emancipate us from labour.

mental work requiers way much exploitation than "hardwork". in hardwork your body work is the thing which is exploited. In mental works it includes your knowlage therefore your past, your body as spending time, and your mental stability which i find the most harmfull. Linux is an example of how it would be if the exploitation wouldnt be on the shoulders of mental workers. thats why calling it as hobby can be true but poor. it is a project to demonstrate a different world is possible without capitalism.

This is why Socialism exists as a transitionary economic system. Communism is dependent upon two factors- human mentality and overproduction.

How are is socialism better from the ordinary stand point better off? Isn't it true in a socialist country the central planners decide what to make, how much it should cost? Doesn't this lead to shortages as seen in most all socialist countries or the US when the instituted price controls or rent controls? How does that make people better off? This also applies to health care. The central planners decide and that ends up with shortages. In a capitalist country it would be based on the market and with more competition that would cause prices to go down. Also people would still be providing for those less fortunate by charity which historically is the case in the US before these social welfare programs. Capitalism for one hasn't killed millions it has helped millions out of poverty. Capitalism has bettered the lives of millions and provided those medical inventions that have saved millions of lives.

***** You sir need to go read some books by Murray N. Rothbard, F.A. Hayek, Ludwig von Mises to name a few and learn what capitalism really is. You sir are mistaken on several points. You don't know how competition works. Yes they will lower the price and try to drive the competition out. But what if they lower it below their cost of production? They start to lose money. Sure they may drive that competition out but when they raise the cost others will come in to under cut them or customers won't buy as much. So to keep their monopoly they will have to keep costs low. How does that hurt people? As for capital well you can always create more by saving money and investing it. Of course you can't do that when the government controls interest rates and the money supply. See you just need to go and look up the Austrian school of economics to see how capitalism and the free market work. Try a book called The Politically Incorrect Guide to Capitalism. You can also see how socialism actually works and the failure of it by reading The Politically Incorrect Guide to Socialism or Ludwig von Mises Socialism; an economic and sociological analysis.

Governments controlling the economy helps to cause those. Prices usually go down in a free market. Tigerfire75 Capitalism lives insides the boundries of a nation. Free market capitalism or anarcho-capitalism would look like barbarianism. Why ? Well because every bigger firm would have their own mercenary groups, which they could use to utterly destroy their competition. There wouldn't be anyone to protect the workers on the other hand, so one rich guy could bassically make the workers as his slaves and decide if he wants to pay them, or just shoot them (since there aren't any regulations and no state, right ? ).
