A remote Atoll far south of Male. Former "off limits" RAF Base, now accessible for basic tourism. On a second visit we missed the 2004 tsunami just by seconds.

Approaching des Saintes, French Caribbean is quite tricky, but once i´ve been there a boatride with a local friends powerboat was fun especially when taken to a secluded beach having some planters punch (not recommendable midday with 32 centigrade...)

flying there several times each year I experienced Rijeka/Krk Airport due to frequent crosswind heavy bora winds quite often as "non landeable" meaning change of direction (as here) or going to Pula, Zagreb, Venice. As Pilot I like it - the folks onboard sometimes cry or pray (really). But don´t worry, no accidents because of creel safety measures and skills of the pilots.

Porto Santo is the quiet sister island of Madeira and sometimes used as an alternative when landing in Funchal is not possible due to strong winds. Worth a visit and nice landing on this outer atlantic post.
