I understand your concern, I looked into that as well. I discussed my thoughts on that in my blog post, which this video was created for. Which I now see I did not link to. Asbestos seems to be a problem primarily when inhaled or otherwise gets into tissue due to the fact that it lodges in the tissue where the chronic exposure increases the risk of cancer. So I am OK with it sealed away, and wear respiratory/barrier protection during modification. It is likely amorphous, but may convert to the crystalline form, which I cannot confirm. I plan to never open the inner cavity of this trangia again. Let me know what you find. I see some people use carbon wool, that might be worth a look.

It is ceramic insulation. It's some combination of SiO2 and Al2O3 according to the MSDS sheets.

I used reward based training. I am not 100% sure how she locates and identifies other toilets in unfamiliar settings (other houses), I assume shape and smell. She just finds where the toilet is and uses it.

You are right, it is essentially a large cuticle cutter. Unfortunately, I don't remember where I got it from. It was a leather-working tool that didn't work out for my leather work. This one is not very sharp though. Soaking Lala's paws makes the dead skin very mushy so I prefer the tool dull and it acts more like a scraper than a cutter. More like exfoliation than trimming. Maybe you can dull a regular cutter with some sandpaper.

Absolutely. The love the idea of having a no-spill version of the Trangia. I just have to finish my current mod for an easy lamp conversion.

@@lalathedog So far no haha but I'm still working on it. There is the trick where you run a wick through the hole on the simmer ring and place it over the Trangia without the cap. That gives you a baby candle but not a proper lamp.
