No one can say why AOTC is bad besides parroting the same subjective "Hayden Christenson bad" that they mindlessly repeat after watching the Plinkett review. I think he acts like an awkward boy which is what Anakin is. He's a monk, a jedi who has no experience with dating or courting women. He also carries attachment trauma that stems from his separation with his mother which explains why his dialogue is so intense with Padme sometimes. Yes he's awkward, he's supposed to be, he is also very handsome and confident and protective of Padme which is all of what girls want in a man. All the hate towards Christenson does is reflect Star Wars fans lack of understanding of women. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

The best horror movie in my opinion

One critism I heard all the time... "it's supposed to be Star Wars, not Star Politics." OK, I hear ya, but can you name me a war that didn't involve politics?

Good to see Attack of the Clones getting some love. By far one of the most over-hated movies of all time, especially when most of it comes from people completely misunderstanding the film and how certain elements of anakins character are deliberate and make sense. It’s of course not a flawless movie but it’s way better than what it gets treated as. Fun fact is that it’s apparently the legendary Steven Spielberg’s second favourite star wars movie behind the empire strikes back, although he also believes AOTC was George’s “most accomplished film” and thought that he did his best example of directing with it.

My personal opinion as to why Kamino was deleted from the Jedi archive is that Dooku and Sidious did not want Kamino to be stumbled upon by the Jedi before the Clone army was ready. The Jedi would have smelled something foul then since the Dark Side wasn't as strong as it was during the events of Attack of The Clones film. Even Yoda said in the Attack of the Clones that the shroud of the dark side had just fallen, implying that it became much harder for the Jedi to see what was what.

I would go so far as to say this is Colin Farrell's best performance.

As a young teenager when Phantom came out, who was already a huge OT fan, I think the negative reception of the prequels is due to that a lot of the boomers watching the prequels forgot they were children/teenagers when the OT came out. Most of the stuff they complain about with the sequels is also true of the OT, they were just horribly cynical adults at the point. Younger audiences like me felt bullied into not liking the sequels, and eventually just internalized the terrible criticism of the jaded adults, in order to fit in.

A I don’t really see the saga (the George Lucas movies) as individual movies but rather as one cohesive whole. The rest I don’t consider to be Star Wars.

The fact that certain people are stronger in the force is a concept that is introduced in the OT. In Episode VI Luke says that the force is strong in HIS family. Inherently saying that the force is Genetic. Midichlorians provide an explanation to this fact. If you really didnt liked this idea, and thought of the force as something anybody can tap to for powers, then I guess you must really enjoyed how Rey is able to do everything lol

25:02 Palpatine didn't want anyone to prematurely discovered The Clones, Dooku deleted the records and assumed Sifo Dyas's identity to ensure the project continued without issues. At that point in time The Clones are only known to Darth Tyranus and Darth Sidious, the war in AOTC begins on Geonosis as they planned. Equally the duel at the end was also planned. Or at least the duel between Tyranus and the duo. I think unexpectedly Yoda showing up threw Tyranus off but he had instructions to not kill any of them. A theme which would be his downfall in Episode 3, toying with Anakin under instructions and believing in the fantasy Darth Sidious blinder him with.

The reason I personally have a problem with Anakin's turn is not because of what happens in the scene with him, Palpatine, and Mace but a lot of what he does after the fact. I can buy him turning to the dark side in that moment (maybe not completely committing to it) but I can't buy him killing a bunch of children for instance. Also I've heard that defense for Anakin's awkward dialogue so many times and it doesn't change anything for me. It's still bad dialogue you can write a character who is awkward and still have clever dialogue. Also why would Padme fall for him if he's so awkward. I don't think the bad dialogue was intentional either because Padme also delivers some awkward dialogue. I think people came up with this defense to justify these scenes in their mind which is fine we all try to justify poor decisions in movies we have an emotional connection to for one reason or another. The music is phenomenal but I don't think music can alone make a scene work. Stuff like music can heighten the emotion in a scene but it needs to work with the other tools of filmmaking.

How was it tragic when Anakin brought it all in himself. Tragic is when a person has to face hatred suffering losses pain out of no fault of his own. Anakin and his ambitions and lust for power did that. No one caused it to him. He made a deal with the Devil. Nobody forced him into it

When I was young, I had no issue with Jar-jar, honestly. His mannerisms and way of speaking enchanted me as a kid, and I just thought he was funny. Him and the little droid that got sucked into the engine were some of my favorite parts when I was all of seven years old, and to add in the awesome saber fights, Maul, and pod racing, this movie blew my socks off. I was made a fan for life watching Phantom Menace in the theater.

To add on to how good this movie is, Palpatine is just an _incredible_ villain, played to perfection by Ian McDiarmad. He brings the perfect balance of delightful over-the-top scene chewing, but also a great amount of intimidation. I remember being genuinely terrified of him when I kept rewatching Revenge Of The Sith. He seriously scared me that bad.

I also love that the prequels didn't just delve into _how_ Anakin became Vader, but also _why_ he became Vader. It makes him a much more compelling and likeable character without diminishing his evil throughout the franchise.

I appreciate your respect for the prequels, which is something that is sorely lacking in a lot of star wars you tubers, but i wouldnt put any sequel movie in the top 5. Episodes 8 & 9 ruined 7 for me in hindsight

Natalie Portman should not have been padme she wasn' putting any effort into her role here while Hayden was doing he's best all he's scenes with ewan McGregor in ROTS and attack of clones are better than all he's scenes with portman yet he got all the hate despite having to deal with dialogue that no one can make sound good but in defense of the i don't like sand line its a metaphor for how he viewed he's life on tatootine it was difficult while on naboo life is nicer that was that line means

The politics thing applies to the clone wars series too, (the newer one), some episodes were almost all politics and I used to skip them as a kid but now they are some of my favorites.

I just met Tara Strong at the Houston Collect A Con over a year ago, and I even got her to sign my DVD cover for Scooby Doo On Zombie Island since she was the voice of Lena Dupree. Other than that, I had a great talking to Tara and even told her about my favorite characters from Cartoon Network including Finn and Jake from Adventure Time along with Mordecai and Rigby from Regular Show as well as getting my picture taken with her.

Any movie with a shaggy subplot is a win

Scooby-Doo alien invaders is a good movie

I remember this one as a kid. Scooby doo is a good example of how teamwork and working together in life is important.

Yugi is over rated. He wasnt the king of games. The pharaoh was. Dosnt matter if it was yugi’s body. It was the pharaohs mind that was dueling. In the very few matches yugi actually played himself. He didnt do all that well.

For some reason, this movie got shown on uk tv way more than the others. So I have very fond memories of it. I always liked that it wasn’t spooky in the traditional sense so much as *weird.* in that desert gothic stranger things kinda way. with all the government conspiracies etc. Also the romance with shaggy and the alien lady is unironically the sweetest thing.

yeah gotta admit zombie island and abracadabra doo are my favorites of the scooby movies
