Gabe Clark Design

Добавлен 30 июл 2017
Hey there RUclips, my name is Gabe Clark and I love to tinker and build stuff. For my day job I am a Journeyman Millwright and a Journeyman Electrician in the great state of Oregon. In my free time I really enjoy using the skills that I've developed over the years to explore the more creative side of myself. I'm definitely not a classically trained artist and to be honest with you I couldn't tell you the difference between a Shaker and mid-century modern piece of furniture. I make what I think looks good and so far the feedback has been positive. My work space is my 2 car garage that doubles as a laundry room and storage space for the stuff that comes with raising children. I am a family man at my core and you will often see my beautiful wife and my three wonderful children making cameo appearances in my videos. I'm going to try and post as many builds as I can and would like any feedback that you can give me. Cheers!

Metal Business Card Holder

This is a follow up to the wood business card holder I did last week. Because I am more of a fabricator that I am a woodworker I thought it fitting to make a card holder from cold hard steel. Thanks for watching. Cheers! Music: Warchestra Primate Warchestra Titan-God-Man
Wooden Business Card Holder
Просмотров 8 тыс.6 лет назад
This is a quick video of how I built myself a new business card holder. I used cherry and brazilian walnut for the wood and some magnets and copper wire to hold everything together. The inspiration for this build came from Nick over at The Every Maker. You can see his video on how he made his business card holder right here: ruclips.net/video/tPNtiABDrYg/видео.html Music comes from Lobo Locos a...

Wall Hanging Jewelry Organizer

I recently built a couple of these wall hanging jewelry organizers as presents. I used some old crate wood for the frames, some cup hooks and some ornamental aluminum sheet metal for the insert. Like if you enjoy, dislike if you don't. Cheers. Easy Floating Shelves

We recently decided to change the color in our bathroom and needed some shelving to match. I built these two floating shelves out of a 2"x8" and some scrap metal I had laying around the house (1/2" round stock and 1 1/4" flat bar). If you don't have a welder you can get these at Rockler: www.rockler.com/i-semble-light-duty-blind-shelf-supports Thanks for watching. Music by: Rhastafarian by Audi...

Metal and Wood Desk Build Part 1: The Top
Просмотров 6 тыс.7 лет назад
This is part 1 of a corner desk build that I've been working on. This video shows a little bit of the processes that it took to build the top of this desk. Sorry for the roughness in some parts, this was the first time that I'd recorded a build and I thought I could pull it off with just my iPhone, I was wrong. I got a new camera for part 2 of this build so stay tuned. Thanks for watching. Mate...
Just noticed the other videos where gone.
Nice video, annoying music.
excellent, very good work and good ideas to make a ceiling lamp
Dope
This nothing do with Your video But your a big person You should get testerone check if low You may have pituitary Tumors !
Awesome video! Digg the Gruntstyle shirts.
Good job!!!!
Very nice door...thank you
How thick should any barn door be ? ,I use pine 1x6 (actual 3/4 "), but if I have to do both sides of door, the door ends up being 2.25 in. Thick ...my son says this is wrong...help please
I was thinking the same thing. Having two frames on both sides looks great, but ends up being too thick. I been watching so many videos, trying to figure out the best way to build a sliding barn door.
Beautiful!
GO BEAVS!
This is one of the best I've found, if not the best. Thank you. You did great work, and included all steps. Keep up your good work.
Thanks for the nice words.
Nice, nice, very nice. However you can make it yourself. Just google woodprix and learn how to do it easily.
good ol' Ikea mirrors :)
Yep, had those things for years.
Nice job, GO BEAVS!
Looks great!
Muito bom,good
This is awesome man. I wish you would have got more views on this.. something of this quality is really worth paying whatever you charge for it. This is really quality and the time spent, wow..
Great work man..nice and simple. I will make one the way you made yours in my house...thanks
SuperMarioTube thanks, we love ours.
Beautiful job 🤘
Dosen't go with the decor of the room. A fish out of water.
Most barn doors don't go with the house, Not unless you live in a Barn.
Brutally done good work 👍
Omar Shahid thanks!
Молодец Приятно посмотреть.
Awesome job! Gave me some good ideas on my project Cheers!
Rhino 159 thanks!
nothing mixes as well as saws and beer.
How far above the door did you keep the roller when you installed them on the door?
Diane Vessel plusz pont
So between the door and the bottom of the rail is 3/4” and 2-3/4” to the bottom of the wheel. Hope this helps. Sorry for the late reply, been away on business.
Great job big guy...i see you're not much of a talker...😁..im gonna have to insist that you put real shoes on in your work space...you could really hurt your feet...AND you did a beautiful job on that door buddy...truly gifted...
Michelle Hood thanks, I’ll consider wearing real shoes from here on out. Those were my work flops though, wouldn’t want to get my nice ones dirty.
What router bit did you use to create the ledge?
Jarut5640 3/8” rabbeting bit.
nope to that music, rather hear the process
Great table
k md thanks.
If you got rid of the music, this video would be great. Everything else is pretty good, but I wish you would explain what you're doing instead of silly stock music. Thanks for the video!
Kevin Unglesbee thanks for the feedback, I really am not very good at the whole “production” of making RUclips videos but will try to incorporate some more dialogue into my next build.
He is not much of a talker...a 'get it done' kinda guy...😁
How much did it cost you and what type of wood did you use?
Very nice. Have you had any warping problems with the wood all glued to the frame?
Nope, checked it out today and it’s still straight as can be.
@@gabeclarkdesign7302 that's awesome. I think I may have issues with moisture because our door will be separating a bedroom and bathroom with tub and shower. I was going to glue/nail everything but I'm going to give everything room to move instead now.
Congratulations!
Оригинально, но можно было бы поаккуратней сделать.
Was the design better with a magnet on each end? Did it not hold well with 1?
Brandon Latimer the magnets I had weren’t very strong so I doubled them up. Could probably be done with one of you had the right magnet.
perfect, great job.
Thank you! it was a lot of work but I love this desk!
Thank you so much! it was a hard build but very rewarding!
Thanks.
Awesome build! Badass music🤘🏻 insta-subbed
deathuponusalll thanks man! Nobody does metal in their videos.
Gabe Clark Design agreed! It was refreshing to see that here! Btw what’s the name of that band or song?
The music is from my friend Andy's old band Warchestra. They were out of Tulsa Oklahoma. I pull the music from an album that he gave me, works good for me cause its badass and I don't have to deal with copyright.
Gabe Clark Design no wonder I couldn’t find it on any of the music search apps like Shazam...I would love to share it to metal music groups I’m in on Facebook, it’s waayyy better than what you listen on the radio
Find me on Facebook at Gabe Clark Design LLC and we can continue this on messenger? I'll need to talk to Andy but I'd be willing to send you a copy of his album.
Just found this when "The Algorithm" decided I might like it. I really like the idea. I don't think I ever would've thought to do the top that way. That's a pretty awesome and inexpensive way to do it. Well done!
chase weeks thank you for the kind words. My favorite part of the top is the epoxy finish, it’s really nice to work on.
I'm sure it is. I'm definitely going to have to keep this design in mind. In the next month of so I'll be building matching corner desks for my GF and I when we move and I think something like this would do quite nicely.
Nice, nice, very nice. However you can make it yourself. Just google woodprix and learn how to do it easily.
amazing piece!
Thank you, It was a lot of work but I love the look and feel of this desk every time I use it.
Nice job Gabe. Great idea! I found your channel on the ZH Fabrications Facebook page.
Thanks Greg, That FB page has turned into quite the community.
Sure has! good times!
That's a cool idea, I love the quarter inch plugs as keyrings and a great way to incorporate the guitar design.
Thanks Nick.
Très beau travail 👏
Merci!
Looks great Gabe!
Thanks Ron.
Very nice. Where did you get the Prest Black? Love how it treated the metal.
I order it from Sculpt Nouveau. Great stuff. They have a bunch of options. This is the Birchwood PC9. sculptnouveau.com/collections/finishes
Gabe Clark Design Thanks for the info. BTW I get some compliments when I wear my GC Designs hat. People like the logo.
Dan's Workshop that’s awesome! My twin brother is a graphic designer and he help me come up with the logo. I really like it too, I wear my hat pretty much constantly and it’s not even to self promote. Just really love the design.
Dan's Workshop also, I’m working at building a website right now so if someone else asks about the hat you can send them my way 😊
That came out pretty cool, I especially like blackening of the metal.
Thanks!
Good job and good music!
Thanks! The music is a friend of mines old band Warchestra.
Gabe this is awesome man.
Thanks Ron, It was a fun project that I'd been wanting to do for awhile now. If you like this one check out either part 1 or part 3 of the desk build.
That came out really nice Gabe! Thanks for the shout-out, I'm glad to hear my video inspired you to make your own! Love the final project, love the video!
Thanks Nick!
