Why the Sacramento Kings are the Worst Rebuilding Team

The Sacramento Kings were at one point a unique team that was a top title contender. But since then they have not done anything, and they hold the longest current playoff drought, having last made the playoffs in 2006. • @maurygoldblat8982
    @maurygoldblat8982 5 месяцев назад

    1. Spurs swept the Lakers in 1999 playoffs. Shut down the forum. Shaq ripped urinals off the wall in a rage. 2. Tim Duncan had a season ending knee surgery before the 2000s playoff run. Thats why they lost to the lowly Suns. Spurs had a 3-1 record against the Lakers that season, including 2 wins in april (one without Tim!). The spurs would have been favored if duncan was healthy. 3. Derek Anderson was the Spurs second leading scorer all season. He took a cheap shot from Howard in the semifinals against Dallas and was out foe the WCF with the Lakers. Again... spurs were undernanned and forced to play terry porter heavy minutes. Lakers and Spurs had split the season series before this, meaning the series would have been close. 4. No excuse for 2002. Lakers beat the spurs fair and square. 5. Spurs win in 03 fair and square 6. .4 7. Spurs win 2x titles while the Lakers struggle to make the playoffs. 8. Lakers inside-man, Jerry West, trades Grizzlies Franchise player Pau Gasol MYSTERIOUSLY to the Lakers for bag of chips (kwame brown and Marc Gasol draft rights). Its strange because the only valuable asset the grizzlies had was Pau, and they were trying to sell the team... oh Jerry did a solid for the old Buss family before he left office, eh? Either way, Pop would comment that the NBA would need a committee for investigating "trades that dont make sense". Oddly enough, years later, the NBA would reject a Chris Paul trade to the Lakers because it didn't make sense! Long story short... Duncans Spurs were always better than those cheating Lakers! If it wasnt for his knee injury in 2000, the lakers wouldnt have any titles!

    The Biggest market vs The Small market rivalry nothing beat Spurs vs Lakers in the early to mid 2000’s even the post Shaq lakers, spurs vs lakers games were great both sides won 10 total rings from 99 to 14 you had the consistent and quite spurs team that played fundamentally sound basketball vs the “showtime 2.0” Lakers in the most dominant presence in the paint in Shaq with the flashy and unbelievable shot making Kobe with a great bench, personally I’m taking the spurs nothing comes close to the run that franchise had from 99-17

    Kobe vs Duncan era. Spurs vs Lakers '1999-'2013 Spurs win 4-0 in sweep in 1999 Lakers win 4-0. in sweep in 2001 Lakers win in 5. 4-1 in 2002 Spurs win in 6. 4-2 in 2003 Lakers win in 6. 4-2 "controversy" '04 Lakers win in 5. 4-1 '08 Spurs win 4-0 sweep. in '13 Spurs Total win: 16 wins Lakers Total win: 17 wins Lakers with 4-3 lead but they loose in the 2004 finals against the Pistons, the same team Spurs beat in 2005. That's how close it is between Kobe and Duncun. Overall Duncun had higher winning percentage and was closer to winning six titles 5-1. Compared to Kobe's 5-2 finals record. Also, Timmy Never misses the playoffs, Kobe has multiple times.

    The Spurs brought the very best out of those Lakers teams. The only way the Lakers--or anybody--beat those Spurs teams is if they bring their A+ game---because the Spurs were not going to beat themselves. It took some legendary games from both Shaq and Kobe to be able to take down a team that had such great star power, depth, coaching, and synergy. If the Lakers came with anything less than their A-game--it was San Antonio taking it. More often than not--the Lakers brought their best and got the better end of a great rivalry.
