On today's Automation Technology spotlight we have the ATI Quarter Turn, Direct Gas, Scotch Yoke actuator with a pipeline control system.
The actuator is designed to operate off of pipeline, high pressure gas for applications without electricity or instrument air supply.
To control the actuator we have the following controls and options demonstrated:
-Local control: for operation in the field
-Manual hand pump: for overriding in case of low pressure in pipeline
-Linebreak: for automatic fail-closed operation in case of pipeline rupture for pipeline integrity and EPA regulations
-Hi/Lo pilot: for fail safe operation in case of pipeline pressures going outside of acceptable operating range
