This is really needed. The Internet is flooded by information from Byzantinian Orthodoxy compared to information from Oriental Orthodox churches. People need to know that there are various options/traditions when one seeks the Orthodox path.

I'm so glad for this platform. We need our religion explained in plain language so we can understand the Liturgy and be fed by it. Our spiritual leaders need to be more connected to the people, not just perform religious rituals.

Every time I cross myself I remember my father who taught us … when we make the sign of the cross… “we must always remember that God the father sent His son Jesus Christ to transfer us from darkness of our sin into the light of His Kingdom…” This I cherish of the cross… Who loved us and gave Himself for us so that we might have eternal life. Thank you Lord for your love.

What is the history of this tradition? There are mentions of making sign of the cross in writings of Tertullian and St. Cyril of Jerusalem. How about Armenian church fathers? And what might be biblical support for this tradition?

Surpazan said it right at the very end and it can be a problem. During the Divine Liturgy, how many times do we make the sign of the Cross on our bodies? One Sunday will try and count. The problem occurs when it becomes mechanical. That is the danger. It's hard but we must remind ourselves and take that moment to remember and realize what we are doing. If it becomes a mechanical gesture, then it means nothing to us. Yes, it is hard as we are doing it maybe dozens of times, to take that moment, maybe take a breath and say to ourselves the reason we are making that sign.

I want to congratulate both of you on undertaking this work. We need to better educate our faithful in our Armenian Faith. I just wanted to mention the sound quality. I had to turn up the RUclips volume and my laptop volume to full. The sound at times had a slight fuzziness to it, like a mic was being over driven. I noticed you both had mics on, which should have helped. Keep up the great work.

I am glad that you began this project with this important subject. It is clear from your explanations that Mary's obedience didn't just happen. She was so steeped in the knowledge of Scripture which gave her assurance of God’s promises. Her saturation in Scripture enabled her to have the faith to rejoice at God’s call on her life. Maybe the way Mary speaks to us today is most importantly to encourage us to learn God's word, the Bible and obediently to follow the Lord.
