Those Nike cortezes Renegades was rocking along with the spandex? No bueno for a wet floor. Respect to both crews. StylElements adapted to all elements and took the prize. I do gotta say Jazzy J was ahead of his time as far as power moves go.......
1:21 He accidentally performed an airflare cause his hands slipped away. Im pretty confident that he did it by mistake, airflares werent invented back in 1996.
6:11-6:20 is the most underrated shit on this video. it's not all about the power moves. Ivan's up rock is clean asf!!! Some of these cats need to get off the ground once in a while
much respect to Ivan and Wicket was a powerhouse hitting those one-handed halos!

So these are some of the OG legends that helped making Bboying what it is today? Damn, they're dope. 1996, that's one whole year before I was even born...
Never has there been a more influential dancer like B-Boy Ivan, under my radar. He is so full of character, it's always a damn pleasure watching him move to the music. Very fast and energetic.
Aye "RenegadeRockers" let us RUclipsrs have our opinion. No offense to you guys, we just want to call it the way that we see it, even if you don't agree with it. Don't get mad with our opinion. Not trying to piss you off.
@RTONYO are you talking about the guy in the white helmet with all black?I call him moi/junior these days but i dont know what he went by back then. thats cool this battle was so important to the bboy scene tho. @Marcos Galaz do you think you could send me a link to or upload the orig. footage of the whole battle? if you cant its ok tho.
this was the battle that got me caught up into the whole bboy/hip hop culture!! used to see this battle playing on vhs at the flea market!!! sick! sick!!!
I remember this battle. Very hot and humid inside. Reasons why they stopped the battle to bring in fans amd dry floor. Not to mention you all brought the wrong Kicks amd gear. Nike Cortez with spandex? Great battle tho. This is one of the battles that put style over power on the map.
When leaked VHS tapes made their way overseas places like Korea based their whole foundation off of Jazzy. People talk about other bboys inspiring single individuals like this one or that one Jazzy inspired a whole entire nation.
@frogslife1 Hey fellows this is LilCesar from AFC. Ozrock gave me the first Helmet in 1984. I started practicing and practicing. at first it was uncomfortable it was a weir feeling then I find out that it was a better material to spin better then a beanie or my bare head. I started noticing that I was loosing my hair and I had a crazy ball-spot. some people say i was cheating but when they tried it. they realize it wasn't easy. is not about cheating is about a choice and being smart.
So ivan ran with Style Elements huh? That's a fun fact that i didn't know.. But who were all the members of both Renegades and Style Elements from around this time?
@pberrios0223 that bboy ivan urban action figure, the best at that time.he would take on a hole crew when he was at his prime, nobody could hang with ivan.
Actually Jazzy was the best at the time in the 90s. He used to take on whole crews and nobody could hang with him. He also went up to Modesto (Ivan's hometown) and won a tournament called Legends to be the Future of Street Art.
僕の青春!いつみてもかっこいいな!今のブレイキンには無い個性的でかっこいい
i always thought the Renegades won imo
ivan was a ringer for style elements
6:10-6:24 is some of the the sickest shit I've seen on a dance floor.

You look at this and you realise how great todays bboys are we are talking levels above these dudes. This is like a practice battle.
1:21 He accidentally performed an airflare cause his hands slipped away. Im pretty confident that he did it by mistake, airflares werent invented back in 1996.
4:43 Poe One create the airchair
thats not where he created the airchair but it comes from that move, yes
I always felt like renegades won that battle especially since ivan was a ringer for style elements
What happened to that hot Latina in the white shirt waving her hand for air? Ever wonder????
B Boy Ivan brought me here. 6:10-6:51 is the cleanest shit in this battle imo.
Schwinn called, they want their helmets back!!!
Renegades! San Fran vs styles elements! Modesto!
I went to this! I was 16
Bboy Poe One Puerto Rico represent.
Such a classic battle!!!
You can see how slippery the floor was. Even though, they killed it.
6:11-6:20 is the most underrated shit on this video. it's not all about the power moves. Ivan's up rock is clean asf!!! Some of these cats need to get off the ground once in a while
Nah bro that's my favorite part of the video and my favorite song
That part of the video has aged the best. Goes to show that there is too much focus on other aspects with respect to tops.
much respect to Ivan and Wicket was a powerhouse hitting those one-handed halos!

Remind getting Jazzy J's nerves!!! HAHA epic showdown!
Remind will never be on the same level as KING JAZZY!

It's mine or the floor its wet?
+JC Machado Floor was super wet
The floor was very slippery/wet. That's the only reason this battle was even close. We battled a year before this and won easily.
