NOT CHRISTIAN !!!! Accepting government funds !!! I was there in the 1980's . Dr. Mitchell WOULD NOT approve !!!
FCC is a scam.
I wasted 2 months and over $12,000 any ad I answered just laughed and hung up it was at the two week mark when your locked in I realized these guys thought it was hilarious the place place was grossing over $500,000 every 30 or 40 days and maybe 10 or 15 people to run everything if you have job waiting fine otherwise forget it.
Did you ever land a job? To be honest, yours is one of the only negative reviews I have read from a student on this school..
i agree don't attend this place

I went there for a year.. Beautiful campus and great classes. Wish I had money to finish it..
also the problem with private instructors is that they have motivation to string you along and not teach you the things you need to know. Since it's a business, they need you to depend on them rather that teach you to depend on yourself and your own ear. It shouldnt take a teacher longer than 2 years to teach you everything you need to know to be self sufficient in this day and age.
I have since moved away from LA back to Illinois where I'm from and I can honestly say there isnt any place as nurturing musically than MI. LA exposes you to a different life that Berklee cant offer. Also in terms of MI giving people a chance in the industry, my friend Jinjoo Lee who can be youtubed or found on facebook got gigs with Jordan Sparks, Cee Lo, Joe Jonas, and recently played on "The Voice", all because of MI. Another, Nicholas Brunel, played with snoop dogg, Usher, and Lil wayne.
yep, gates did leave early. But I also know one of the teachers who helped get them exposure and get the noticed by major labels and that was thanks to MI. Regardless, thats not important. Music is not about an education its something much deeper than that, its the people you're around, the things you're exposed to. Music is a direct representation of who you are and the things you've been through.
The thing is, most of the musicians you listed such as Synyster Gates and John Frusciante only attended MI for a year and left when they had the opportunity to join a band. Gates left after he had a phone call from his friend REV who said they needed a guitarist for their band. Becoming an established musician is more by a stroke of luck and chance no matter how much "Music Education" you receive. It is best to attend a university and hire a private instructor than spend $30,000 studying at MI.
Headed to Miami for school next fall. Soooo pumped
yeah first comment
basically an expensive community college
I want to go here in 2014!
his still there
my dream school :)
My mom goes MAD its really annoying over th slightst thing
Great school, shitty town...you have to just trust me on this one.
Not really.
It will be very lovely if I can get into Miami University!! My GPA is 4.0 and right now I'm kinda nervous about my incoming SAT and ACT!!
ITS OVER NINE THOUSANDDDDDDDDDD trees 1:00
Tampa Campus is borderline breaching contract with the quality of the equipment and teachers. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY!
This is my dream college!
I'm only 13 and I'm excited to go here!
Leadership creates performance in people because it impacts willingness; it’s a matter of modeling, inspiring, and reinforcing. Check out slapCompany
@sirus1987 and soon andy (me) will be with those great names :)
You want to be successful out of school? Begin landing the job the first quarter your in school. You have to almost not need the schooling before you even go. That's just the way it is these days.
I'm attending MI this fall, and I can honestly say by the time I will get there I will be immensely prepared. I have toured extensively, recorded full albums, and taught. the fact of the matter is, to make it out of one of these schools, you must be able to bring something to the table before you reach their classroom. For instance I'm applying for numerous of their available GIT scholarships and my pieces will range from Steve Vai to Jason Becker to Shooter Jennings.
The fact of the matter is, both schools provide you the education both are decently matched on alumni and both are about the same cost. People that bad talk MI, Full Sail, LARS, or Actually Berklee for that matter, lack one concept. You get what you put in. These schools cant make you a virtouso, or give you the job. Know what your getting into. Know your craft, you should only go to these schools with a great understanding of your craft to begin with. They are here to hone your skill.
what is wrong with keiser?
PLEASE PLEASE PLEAS DO NOT ATTEND THIS PLACE
The eagles are ready to pounce on any unsuspecting student if you don't study!
nice
It is a nice place, but not for very religious people. I see so many old faces! Michael Sheinin is a good dude.
Berklee and MI are roughly the same but because i play guitar and keyboards and would like to do audio engineering, I would rather go to MI and one of the reasons which makes absolute sense why Berklee have 2-3 times as much notable alumni is because Berklee has been around since 1945 and M.I has been around since 1977 a mere 31 years compared to Berklees 64 years, thats twice as much! and Berklee takes about 80+ instruments and MI only takes 5... do the math MI is actually technically better.
hmm great video i'm thinking of applying
Hell yeah! Dave Krug!
I live in Mass, and I wan't to move out to LA for MI...I have done some research on both and I can never get straight answers any one willing to talk to me about MI? experienced people only please!
synyster gates from avenged sevenfold, paul gilbert, frank gambale, john frusciante and chad smith from the red hot chilli peppers. rivers cuomo from weezer, shredder dave weiner who also played with steve vai, rhianna's guitarist and keyboard player, dave ellefson from megadeth, jeff buckley, brain mantia from primus, justin derrico from the calling and pink, raphael moreira who toured with christina aguilera and pink, to name a few. do research before you make claims to which you do not know
sure, if you wanna be stuck playing other people music for the rest of your life. you can find a teacher for almost ANY style of music at MI. berklee focuses on playing jazz standards and classical arrangements.MI hooks you up with major gigs for the rest of your life. i auditioned for the offspring. i know a 19 year old girl who just got a gig straight out of MI making $60,000 touring with the supporting act of the jonas brothers.come talk to me when berklee hooks you up with a job like that.
The amount of money they get paid isn't shit unless it's a big name artist at the top of the charts. How many artists make significant money each year these days? The percentage of musicians who actually make good money is very low. Who would make more money? A starving musician coming out of MI or an educated young person who went to USC business school? MI is just filled with college dropouts and slackers. And are you seriously gonna compare MI to UC Berkeley? Who are you kidding?
Yeah, sure buddy. That's real cute and all but I'm a realist and the reality is the majority of musicians don't make shit in the music industry. It's a dying business no matter what anyone else says. You can't compete with free. If you're gonna study music do it at a respected university-not some for profit piece of shit school like MI. All they care about is your money.
Lol go get a real education. Go ahead and tell people you graduated from MI or that you attend MI. You'll see what little respect you get.
WHY on earth would you want to come to MI? Go to a REAL college like USC, UCLA, UCSB, or UC Berkeley. Good luck trying to make money in the music industry. Go to a university and get a degree in something that will actually make you money like Business, Finance, Economics, Law, or Engineering. MI's campus is shit too.
I go to this school it's a nice school
Nebraska! Stop the drama, vote OBAMA! The last thing Ameria needs is another McBush! Go vote OBAMA/BIDEN 08 !
Wow. That brings me back
I want to go here SoOOOoOoOOoo BAD!!!
My dad doesn't get mad. It's just sort of passive insults repeatedly and I too am like "Whatever." My mom died a few years ago. It's funny how he and his wife would say "You don't have anything together. Sure you're about to go to college. And you got a job and finished that. And..." so I'm like "So what's the problem again?" Apparently I'm not excited enough for these high-strung assholes. NOBODY would be excited around them, except the chance to move out.
Wow, all so familiar, Im getting the balls nagged out of me at the moment about all this
