I confirm this works with M1 Pro Macbook Pro 16inch exactly as described but with a G2 TB3 240w dock, I was looking for a solution which would allow me to plug in my windows work laptop and Macbook to use the same monitors (currently have 2 separate workstations next to each other with 4 screens). This does the job. 3 screens in total, the Mac can only output to 2 of them but at least it means only connecting one single usb c cable when I want to swap them over.

@gotechtalk subscribed! btw, this didn’t work with two older thinkvision monitors, i think each only has display-in...i had to use a docking station to get both working with 3rd laptop screen. I didn't see daisy chain option.
@cxqcxq5176 Thank you for subscribing. Not all Thinkvision are capable of daisy chains fucntion, specially older models, dock is the best bet for those models.
I don't think that you mentioned that you need a USB C to USB C Monitor Cable rather than the cheaper USB-C to USB-C 2.0 Fast Charger Cable

Not all macbook support dual monitor, you need to do little work around.

If you have to enter the password on the recovery page then you can just login with it 😭
Sometimes, it won't from GUI.

the Display Link Manager App is not available on App Store. Just wondering, is it safe to Use this App ? As something that comes Free has a hidden Cost !
You can download the Display Link Manager directly from the synaptics website. It's widely used.
but the docking station G5 does not have Usb-C port at the back of it can you please advise?
But I used G2 230W G2 model in the demo.
The G5 is not thunderbolt, you would need to install displaylink drivers to mac for it to work. I have one of these as well from my company and just purchased my own one off ebay so i could use it with both mac and pc

It's a macbook, for some reason Apple didn't make M1 dual monitor compatible, only the way to mitigate it is by doing some workaround.

One short question: is it necessary, that the second monitor is the same as the first? I wanted to buy me an ThinkVision P27h-20, but only once and was looking for another monitor, that is cheaper and not a docking Station. And second question: is it necessary to have a Thunderbolt 4 Device on the Laptop or is the inbuild docking station enough, to connect to monitors?
If you are daisy chaining, I would get the same model monitors.

does the image quality from the extra monitors go down using the hp dock with a mac book?
You won't get exact same graphic quality as your laptop when using docking station. You get graphic quality based on your monitor resolution and refresh rate and so forth.

I have the same HP G2 Docking station (Mouse + keyboard + ehernet + 2 DP connected), a Macbook Pro M1 and when I connect it via the USB C cable it dosn''t even detect it. Do you know what it could be? I use that configuration in a windows PC and it works perfectly.

Interesting question. I believe they design their docking station with their forward looking vision. These days monitors comes with very high resolutions and refresh rate. So, to keep up with the technology, they might have thought to keep just display port for faster video transfer, my take.

It's hard to say, because monitors back plate housing comes in different shape. I would check the dimension of the plate and screw hole positions.

I don't understand this. You showed 1 USB-C cable and said that is all you need. I assumed to connect one end of the USB-C cable to one monitor Display-in and the other end of the USB-C cable to the other monitor Display-out, but then I saw you using an HDMI cable for Display-out... That is a little bit confusing. Your words seem not to correspond with the video images.
No. He uses a USB C to USB C Cable to connect the FIRST Monitor to the Laptop and he uses a displayport to displayport Cable to connect the FIRST monitor with the second one. 😊
