I highly recommend everyone look into Phil Illy's work to learn more about autoheterosexuality (autogynephilia and autoandrophilia) in a factual and non-judgemental way. He is an excellent resource and he is autogynephilic himself. He does not make moral judgements about autoheterosexuality or use loaded language like "pervert." The free and honest pursuit of knowledge is always the most important thing.

Use correct terminology. Mastectomy, hysterectomy, and whatever the term is for removing your testicles. You still look and sound like a man. You don't have a biological vagina. A doctor can make a fake one, but it still isn't real.

didnt watch the video but heres my two cents as a trans man. being trans is not something someone wants to do. and if trans people want to take hrt and get surgery, that's their choice. id say my life has been miserable living as a trans male without having surgery or taking hrt. my period sucks, and its a cruel reminder that i was born in the wrong body.

I think I'm going to have to make some similar videos from the viewpoint of how things are in Ontario. The process, etc. You have a VERY clear voice and you're so well spoken. I am thankful for you this video, Kate you are very brave! This has given me a lot to think about when it comes to getting srs, it took me years to get on estradiol bc I went back and forth in my mind but finally took the steps. I am taking my transitioning slower now and not trying to rush it

Maybe just have voice surgery. You'll be fine. It may just be your deep voice that keeps you from passing the way you wish to properly?

If someone puts out distorted or false info on trans people, I try to counter with the facts, even to an obvious transphobe. I am under no illusion of changing their opinion, but other people read also and they don't need to just hear unanswered lies. I try to act classy, like you do in this video, but human nature, sometimes I get pissed. One has to limit exposure to that kind of crap, so yes, living life, having fun, doing other things is a necessity. Thanks for the vid.

I am what most of the world would describe as a straight guy but kinda see myself as just another human bean on the rock, and see others likewise, regardless of anything. I am in the uk and this popped up on my feed. In 90 seconds you showed more intelligence, decorum, wisdom, bravery and human spirit than the haters could achieve in a lifetime. In the book of Genesis Eve comes from Adam's body. And I don't know of any cis man that can bear children. But The Bible also tells us that Adam and Eve had children together therefore to get the right combination of genitalia Eve must also have been trans. Both Adam and Eve were trans. It's in The Bible. 🏳️‍⚧️

It's just a bully mentality. Growing up in a homophobic society it's a lot easier to hate the people you've been told to hate than it is to question your own beliefs.

Speaking for myself I do seem to have a monthly cycle although my symptoms are mild. It's also worth noting that it's not uncommon for cis women to still experience pms symptoms post hysterectomy.

I think it's really hard for people in this community to say anything negative about transitioning because they are afraid of discouraging others from transitioning. It's just really unfortunate that the people who could be giving honest guidance to people who are thinking about transitioning. So we end up with a lot of people with regrets they could have avoided but are still afraid to talk about it because they aren't supposed to talk about it. It just seems like a really scary place to be when you can't trust any of the people around you to be honest and accepting of your choices.

It could very well be that many trans women aren't aware of what they're experiencing as menstrual pains, though it might also be likely that it is, as you said, possibly psychosomatic (I hope that I said that accurately and fairly). I'm very much in an, "I don't know, " position. I don't think I experience menstrual pains, but my own experiences should not be generalized as I don't represent all trans women and their experiences.

I used to think people who said they got em were making it up. It didn't seem possible. ...but then I started getting them. Cramps, bloating, moodiness, weepiness. I always make sure I have Midol. It really helps. The bloating is the one I really didn't expect. I'll go to put my pants on, and they suddenly won't fit. Then I'll end up crying and going "I'm fat and ugly and gross." ...just like my mom used to when she got em.

For me I seemed to sync up emotionally when I was living with cis people as they commented on it but not much apart from that apart from things that can be dismissed , I still get bouts of intense emotion with bloating and brain fog but not every month. I don’t want to invalidate what others feel or experience either but it’s my experience

It reminds me of my post-childbirth experience. Sitz baths, and your bottom is all torn up. You must wear sanitary pads and use a squirt bottle to cleanse whenever you use the bathroom. No sex for a month. Painful.
