When there is a suicide, the media now quite often gives out a phone number to call if you or anyone you know is considering suicide. I support Melissa's comment about acknowledging being a gunowner and telling people why. In terms of moving the conversation to a more positive place after a tragedy, one idea would be to press the media to mention a specific action -- locking up your gun, or how to get a gun lock for free.

House bill 1927 does prohibit untrained, unvetted, anti-semites from taking firearms into his synagogue. What does? Not sure how this bill makes a difference to someone who has decided to shoot anywhere up.
