Waay to hard! Just guessing the composers I was only able to come up with six correct answers. Many of the composers are extremely obscure, and the music of the well known ones were pieces rarely heard or sections that are very unremarkable.
A normal reaction would have been to simply enjoy discovering new composers. And then, there's yours. "Unremarkable"...
@@furiosoquiz9082 Let's face it--not everything Bach or Beethoven or Brahms wrote was grade A stuff. They had off days too and wrote unremarkable music occasionally.
@@johnkusske7535 Bach certainly had more than his fair share of bad days, but I honestly can't think of a single piece of his that would be uninteresting. But I agree about Chopin, Rachmaninov, Beethoven and a few others.
@@Andras-Nebelheim Some of Bach's cantatas are dull.
@@johnkusske7535 Which ones ?
Medium? Naaaah! Tough. Even the better-known composers were represented by mostly obscure pieces. Definitely a helping of humble pie here.
It's a bit hard, indeed 😄
A few .... Beethoven, Händel (one of my favourite composers, and besides, I sing this piece with my choir) sometime I guessed the country the composer came from And with this qiuz I finally recognize Schubert!!! Didnt recognize in the other quiz 🤦 Of course, the Erlkönig is great!
7/31. Very tough
It's actually not bad at all, considering 😄
A measly 5/29. I was quite happy I "guessed" Rameau considering I know little of his music. Many composers I'd not heard of. Somehow I didn't get the Rachmaninov right...and I know a lot of his piano music.
So much music I've never heard before.
The piece by Anton Rubinstein was turned into a swedish hit, sung by young Anni-Frid of ABBA, "Tre kvart från nu".
God, I didn't know that ! That's... weird but awesome !
*Clicks video "Easy? Cool I'll ace this" *Doesn't know first one ok
I got 3.
Way harder than hard! At least I learn some.
I think I got only 4 or 5 right but at least I discovered some nice new pieces to listen/play! 😄
The Kapustin étude is gorgeous!
I have worked in classical music all my life. I got 8 out of 29 questions right…….😭
This was not "medium/hard". This was WAY HARDER than the "Hard" test from the series I just took. Except for the Handel, Rachmaninoff, Schubert and maybe a couple of others, I would call these pieces OBSCURE. Even some of the composers are obscure.
I should have known nearly half of them. I got the Villa Lobos on 2. The Handel much later, and I guessed Scarlatti late in the quiz, but I said Alesandro not Domenico. But I am very rusty. Oh I got Nietzsche correct by saying "No one I have ever heard of". About half of these I have heard more than once.
1. No idea 2. No idea - guessed it was Liszt 3. No idea 4. No idea 5. Faure Pavane 6. Ravel Jeux D'Eau 7. Beethoven Sonata - couldn't remember which one 8. No idea 9. Mussorgsky Night on a Bare Mountain 10. Ligeti - didn't know name of piece 11. No idea 12. Stravinsky Firebird 13. No idea 14. Paganini - 24th Caprice 15. Forgot it was Mahler! 16. No idea 17. Schumann - but didn't know what 25. Sibelius Finlandia 26. Heard it but didn't know 27. Bach - didn't know piece 28. No idea 29. No idea - I should have known Brahms 30. No idea - I know a lot of Shostakovich symphonies but not this one Fairly solid on 20th century stuff. Fairly awful at early classical era (even though i do love Bach/Beethoven).
The recording of Finlandia was a disaster
easy/medium the biggest lie i've seen
Ranging from medium to impossible, but quite fun! The Offenbach piece sounds like "Scenes from the waiting room at the pulmologist" 😂
Ich habe 14 Musikstücke erkannt und weitere 4 schon mal gehört, konnte sie aber nicht zuordnen.
La qualité des enregistrements n'est pas toujours excellente, loin de là ! Par conséquent, j'abandonne à mi-course.....
Quel dommage.
Whoops, only 3 points 😂 But this was great, exactly the level of difficulty that I like, and some great new music to track down.
Please make the text more contrast and bigger, because it's very difficult to read it

What the
Nice selection, just shows the need for better recordings of many of these lesser familiar works.
Can you stop with that ending?! I almost had a heart attack
Course Nietzsche would make the most depressing song ever. Who the hell even knew he was a composer.
🎉🎉🎉
As somebody who studied philosophy in college, I almost spat out my water when I saw Nietzsche as a composer. I knew he did compose some, but when that piece came on in the video, I had absolutely no idea who it was. Nietzsche didn't once cross my mind as an option. My (faulty) process: 1.something early modern, Russian? No clue 2. Classical guitar, Tárrega? Albéniz? Nope 3. Choral Church music, didn't figure it was German :( I thought it was Henry Purcell 4. No clue 5. German Choral Music, Bach? Handel? No clue really 6. Sounds like Beethoven, but I can't remember what piece. 7. More Choral music, no clue 8.Nope 9. Something Chopin 10. Sounds contemporary, so no idea 27. Rachmaninoff, but I guessed the wrong piece 28. Some early modern French composer? Kinda 29. Nope 30. A Scarlatti Sonata? I can't name them. 31.Erlkönig by Schubert, YAY FINALLY 32. I give up
you have Mahler profile picture and didn't know no.19?
11:14 Finally also a piece for guitar (even if it is not original but a transcription from the piano, still in the repertoire)

I don't remember this passage from Babi Yar I got half of the compilation. Thanks for the video!
Now that I’m doing this quiz, I am a shame of myself that I don’t know this level of classical music.
Honestly, there's no reason to be ashamed. Consider yourself lucky to still be able to discover a large amount of incredible musical works; having myself discovered Adolf Von Henselt and Alkan only last year, I can say that the same goes for almost everyone.
Thank you Furioso Quiz
I would know the sound of Lascia ch’io pianga anywhere. The first aria I ever fell in love with.
Why'd you put jumpscare Beethoven at the end?!??
1. I've heard this, don't remember name 2. No clue 3. No clue, Chopin maybe? 4. Heard it, don't know name 5. Bach Goldberg Aria 6. Heard this, don't know name 7. Debussy Prelude to the faun 8. No clue Also, what the heck was that ending...scared the **** out of me.
Lol
thank god I turn the volume up , if I didn't get Erlkonig I will be really upset(つ∀`)・゚。・゚。
I HATE THIS END ! By the way, the piece by Scriabin was the third Symphony, not the Poem of Exctasy. And what's accompanying this creepy picture of Ludwig ?
You're absolutely right, I realize that I made several careless mistakes in these videos, some are really inexplicable. I really am not cut out to be a youtuber, that's for sure. The intro piece is "Поражение Сеннахериба (The Destruction of Sennacherib)" by Mussorgsky; and the outro is part of the "Insidious" Soundtrack.
@@furiosoquiz9082 Thanks. And I recently listened to Scriabin's wonderful first symphony : it was actually from it.
The chosen passages are too abstract to recognize the composers or sometimes even the stylistic movement. Insanely difficult!
