I'm a huge fan of Don Bluth's films!

Banjo and Crazy Legs look like Edmond (Rock-a-Doodle) and Tiger (An American Tail) in one of their other Cat's Lifes.

You can see how early Don Bluth's writing didn't evolve past his mistakes. Songs that are misplaced/unneeded, too many background/minor characters that don't need to be there/add nothing to the plot but are used for gags mostly which have a tendency to fall flat with older viewers or aren't even funny at all, montages that either drag on too long or don't added anything to the plot, and the plot is random events which don't even have anything to do with each other. It's sad that he never got past his earlier writing mistakes but his first film explains why his later films were failures to say the least.

Mijn moeder, mevrouw Van der Aart kende Peter van Liere uit Middelburg. Op die manier heb ik het verhaal leren kennen van deze noodlottige bootreis. Pas heb ik de boeiende reconstructie gezien van hun reis op 2doc met veel origineel beeldmateriaal. Ik vind het jammer dat ze of hun scheepswrak nooit meer teruggevonden zijn. Het lijkt me moeilijk afscheid nemen als je niets tastbaars hebt.

This has always been my favorite song from Banjo the Woodpile Cat. My parents had it recorded for me and my sister when we were kids. Funnily enough, they recorded the movie on 2 different vhs tapes so we watched it many times growing up.
