My neighbour noticed some weird conical diggings in their lawn, so we decided to put out the wildlife camera to see if we could find out what animal was making them. It was a Long-Nosed Bandicoot. Male bower birds get their adult plumage when they are around seven years old. One of our resident bower birds is at this stage and I managed to get some footage of him at the bird bath using the wildlife camera

The Gang Gang fledgling is now feeding itself quite well so the parents were refusing to feed it despite its constant begging. The parents are off on another branch preening themselves and she decides to fly in the middle of them. The male Gang Gang eventually gets his point across and she gives up for a while
Echidna Train

The other morning when we were walking the dog we came across an echidna train, something I have been hoping to see. Mid to late winter is the echidnas breeding season. During this time a line of males follow a female around in the hope that if they are persistent enough they get the chance to mate with her. Echidna trains can have up to 11 echidnas and last up to six weeks before mating occurs...

The Grape Hyacinth flowers were disappearing from our garden, it looked like someone had snipped them off at the base, it wasn't until I checked the wildlife camera in the Bower that I discovered that the Bower Bird had been taking them to use in his bower

Cute little juvenile echidna poking around for ants near the side of the road this afternoon. Wasn't too worried about me being near him and in the end he went back into the bush. Must have been a day for echidinas as I saw a larger one in the forest earlier on in the afternoon. #echidna #cute #australian #southernhighlandsnsw #spring

We found the remains of half a dead rabbit which was still warm so decided t leave te wildlife camera next to it to see if whatever caught it would come back to finish off the rest. A brown Goshawk appeared and flew off with it. Unfortunataly the camera cycled when it took off so I didn't get that on video

I loved your video, Crimson Rosellas (easterns are red, yellow, green) are normally quite timid so I'm surprised that this one had the courage to stand up to the bower bird who's obviously a lot bigger than him. I kind of feel sorry for the bower bird ... All that effort and the Crimson thinking it's an abosulte treat. I loved also how the crimsons partner sits on the tree patiently waiting ;-)
