"The Killer Storm"- The 1991 Halloween Gale
That voice, I can only handle so much of listening to Rush then I gotta go.
..an acquired taste for sure. Never got into them.
33:59 WOW with the van halen reference! FAF
They look so young. When I went to high school in 1978 I was assigned locker number 2112
Don't eat Swordfish. They will give you mercury poisoning.
The first album I bought at 7 years old was the original Rush album. Every song on that record is awesome.
Eternal Father, Strong to save, who's arm has calmed the restless wave. Who bids the mighty ocean deep. It's own appointed limits keep. Oh hear us when we cry to thee. For those in pearl on the sea. Eternal Father grant we pray, to all Marines both night and day. For Honor, Strength, and Skill. Their land to serve, Thy Law fro fill. Tho be the Shield forever more, from every pearl to The Corps. A-Men. Semper Fidelis, The Gunny
Timeless profetic work....
Makes me nostalgic for when the History Channel was about history… and when only one Category 5 Hurricane had ever made landfall in the USA
RUSH HAS ASSUMED CONTROL! RUSH HAS ASSUMED CONTROL!! RUSH HAS ASSUMED CONTROL!!!
Too bad they wouldnt use some of that excessive money to fix their absolutely broken health care system
Me waiting for the movie to start 👁️👄👁️
Truly, some of the most dangerous jobs and situations in the world.
I get this on my feed today, Thurs, 9-26. On the eve of getting Hurricane Helene 🌀 's remnants in sw ohio. Oh, the timing! Edit: we very much need the rain, we're almost to severe drought status.
When you were listing the large hurricanes that hit the U.S, I'm surprised you didn't list Camille, Gulf Port 1967, Cat 5, sustained winds at 200mph.
What does this have to do with Halloween?
Well done, documenta y! I remember that day clearly as if Grace hit yesterday. I was in N.H. I have to say that barometric pressure affects animals and alters humans temperaments. Anxiety and unusual moods. I left N.H. on the 31st. I love storms..... but Grace was relentless and terrifying. So much loss. So many lives lost. My heart broke. Thank you Coast Guard and all who risked their lives saving others. Respect 🙏
Those sailboats should have heeded the warning, asking the Coast Guard to risk their lives is ludicrous. The mariners, are on their own. They didn't heed, it's their fault. 👿😈😠😡
The Perfect Storm, a collision of 3 monsters ... Run and hide 😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱
Air is still , skies are blue and all is quiet. QUIET BECAUSE ALL THE BIRDS TOOK OFF, THEY KNOW IN ADVANCE, THE BEHAVIOR IS BIRDS MUST BE TAKEN INTO CONS.😨😨😰😰 The animals KNOW when the we as their is going to change for the worst. Cows head for the shelter of their barns, horses get agitated, dogs bark, birds take flight .. The behavior of animals in forecasting is a PLUS.😱😱😱😱
Wow this documentary is old! Linda Greenlaw looks like she's in her early 30s here, she's in her 60s now. She was Captain of the swordboat Hannah Boden, which is the sister boat of Captain Billy Tyne's swordboat Andrea Gale. Her and Billy Tyne were good friends.
Such brave rescues
Missing the old History Channel is why we have RUclips!
Everything taught is fake as hell for its all another way humans try and play like they are special so they manipulate the people.
I'm rooting for Mother nature to win. People always disappoint and disgust.
We lived in Minnesota in 1991 and that weekend we had a massive blizzard that dropped massive snow and so cold. The kids quick got trick or treating in and then all he'll broke loose. This makes so much sense now. Thank you Weather Channel.
The old history channel still exists , they just call it History 1 ..... Its still out there
There it is! Look, I’m not against recognizing anyone’s grave who was lost and unrecognized at the time, but you just said 17 markers were placed for 1700 persons. That means a whole hell of a lot of people were buried without the courtesy of a marker to commemorate their final resting place. So why must you insert the race issue because the black victims were buried without a marker? Obviously there were black rescuers along with the white, and they didn’t feel the need to mark the graves either. Furthermore, some of those black victims families knew their loved ones were among those buried in those unmarked graves, and they didn’t feel it necessary to put a marker down. When will you people realize that this race controversy on EVERY SINGLE issue serves ONLY to divide us??? This is a documentary about a weather phenomenon, and still there must be a shaming of white people as horrible creatures. This doesn’t help a damn thing! It only keeps the division burning bright!
History Channel, I miss you. 😫
This was a great. One criticism though is leading w/ forecasting failures of in the southeast. The high end hurricanes of 1938 & 1953 that pulverized New England would’ve been a better opening.
AS A ENSIGN..... IN THE NAVY ...... MY WORST FEAR? BEING IN THE OCEAN DURING ONE OF THE DAMMMMMMM TERRIBLE STORMS WE HAD TOO DEAL...... I WAS GLAD TO SPEND MOST OF MY TIME IN THE BOWEL's OF MY CARRIER!..... FUNNY THING AS THE YEARS WENT BY....(( as I was promoted in rank. )) REGUARDLESS OF THE STORMS, SHE , THE SEA.... The best story i ever heard in my life.
A high quality doc. A rear thing on RUclips.
A fantastic collection of videos from throughout Rush's career. Loved every minute of it! ❤
My house was right on the seawall, opened the sliding glass doors, step on the deck which butted right up against the seawall, at high tide I'd dive off the wall, my gf said we should leave before the storm but I said we'd be okay, we had a roast cooking on the oven, the waves were crashing hard against the seawall with high tide 4 hours away, I wanted to experience it, the waves started crashing onto the roof, green seawater running down the windows, it was beautiful but then a wave brought a boulder that crashed through the glass sliding doors, time to go but we couldn't get out, the street were flooded on both sides, I backed the car up across the street as far as I could, we had front row seats to the waves crashing over the house into the telephone poles, blue sparks running up and down the poles, then the waves started ripping the house apart, the next morning I stepped into the foundation, nothing left, not one spoon, washer dryer, air conditioners, pictures, Nothing, we walked the beach, not one splinter of wood. The perfect storm perfectly swept away Everything we owned. Marshfield, Mass. 1991. Love you Carol wherever you are.
I saw Rush live 4 times for The Presto tour, Hold Your Fire tour, Power Windows tour & way back when for the Caress of Steel tour. They were AMAZING live. RIP Neil you are VERY MISSED. ❤❤❤
I’m sorry you didn’t get to see them in their prime with albums like 2112; Kings; Hemispheres or even ( my favourite one ☝️ Permanent Waves whereas the rest of the world started catching on just how amazing they truly were.1980 both nights in the Boston Garden and a year later on their Exit: Stage Left Tour. The last time I saw them was when they had announced it was their final Tour aka 2015 June at the Garden ( TB Bank North my arse!) it’ll always be the Boston Garden to Me. I really hope you seen it, because during this particular show they had all of the props set up and counted down from their last album until they hit their debut and the reason why they’re so clever; is because the guys who were taking away the props were dressed up as the guys on the cover of Moving Pictures totally in those red coveralls 😂by the 2 nd half it’d been from Signals- Rush! Anyway, it was quite a sight seeing both Ged and Alex playing together with the very first guitar/ bass that they ever purchased; not to mention their finale being a 3 in one ☝️ 😅 Working Man/ Finding My Way/ In The Mood and the last one was What You’re Doing ( obviously because of The Professor’s kit being what it’s always been.? This had just his vibra slap/ chimes/ gong taken from the other drums and all 3 of them were laughing their asses off at the absurdity of being reduced to that special little act from Canada which would take the whole world by storm.. and they certainly did. Didn’t they ❤ Sincerely believe had this kid not been stuck out in North Dakota ( where there was absolutely nothing to do except watch the wheat grow or..)9 years old and figuring out Side One of 2112 by ear at the beginning of the Summer and ending up doing La Villa Strangiato! I owe them my entire career. RIP 🪦 Professor. Yes, YOU are most definitely missed by millions of your family; friends + fellow musicians. Thankfully yours, DJP A.C; Postmortem and Kilslug Sony; Earache 🇬🇧 Columbia and TAANG!! Records @ ALL RIGHTS RESERVED by copyright infringement laws worldwide via Boston Massachusetts Amerikkka quite obvious by this point!

Neil was such a perfectionist. I saw Rush 4 or 5 times. After the first show (which was soon after 2112 was released) I *ALWAYS* bought tickets in the balcony slightly behind the band. The great things about those seats? They were some of the last to sell, were usually cheaper and I almost always got in the front row where I could lean against the brass safety rail. _But the BEST thing?_ I was able to get a 'birds eye view' of Neil Peart working away with his *HUGE* drum set. Every time I think about him being gone, my eyes well up. *R.I.P. brother!*
I saw Rush at St. John’s Arena in 1980 and I PREFERRED the style of their 1st 5 albums to their “techno pop” sound that started around Moving Pictures. (Geddy was off stage-left, watching.38 Special (their opening act) when me and my buddy yelled GEDDY!! He turned around, smiled, and gave us a 👍🏼! 😂
I’d say from the debut up until the Moving Pictures release; however there being a good reason why they moved into this totally new direction ( which I understand Neil being an actual professor of physics etc until he worked in his father’s hardware store and was rescued by both Alex and Ged? I’m sorry 😞 I couldn’t get over the mullets! They’ve always gotten shite for their first album sounding like Zeppelin meets Cream; however they have some great music in that regard which don’t forget also put them on the map with that radio station playing Working Man up in Wisconsin for their bathroom breaks; smoking; eating etc. It just happened to be the last song at over 8:00 minutes long and they could’ve very easily picked Here Again from Side One ☝️ and We might’ve never been exposed to the amazingly proficient artists whatsoever? Imagine that. I owe my career to learning how to play 2112 by ear when I was a 9 yr. old kid and by the end of my Summer out in the Dakotas? La Villa Strangiato! RIP Neil 🪦 You are certainly missed! Sincerely yours, DJP
Hurricane grace, took out the Andrea Gail. Rip to the 6 fishermen
Слабовато было вначале,но перспектива лезла из них.
The story of how _2112_ came about after the disastrous _Caress if Steel_ album and tour is incredible. They called it _The Down the Tubes Tour._ After they made _2112,_ the guy at the label said, "this is exactly what we didn't want." But it worked out. It's on a documentary that I can't remember the name of.
From Montreal...thats quite the gaffe
Tony アイオミは、southpawの唯一のGuitarist🎉
Cape cod called it the Halloween horror.
Cocaine is a hell of a drug.
Shutup stupid
😂Peruvian marching powder!
I miss this history channel i used to watch it all day long its definitely not the same
Never seen this. Cool.
Scarier than a Steven King movie ....🙃😵😵😵😵😵😱😱😱😱
I never could understand why people in small boats and sail boats go out onto the high seas . 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔 You don't stand A chance in a small boat, it becomes A bathtub toy, nothing more. 😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😱😱😱😱
Wow a true treasure trove of rush performances
I see people talking favorite songs, and I guess I just like everything from these guys. They are musician ‘gods’ in the the universe of my mind. I study these guys! So, they can do no wrong, in a way, in my mind.
