When I came to Tremblant at 2025, it still has ice on the slope. I think your video was not taken at 2025 because the slope condition is totally different from now 😀

thank you, you can access the refuge even if the laurentienne is closed, take track 41 Toboggan, at the bottom of the first pitch turn right into the small path of the refuge, red sign and go straight
The laurentian slope was closed at Mar 11 - 12, we actually really want to go to that rescue lodge.

It looks like Ryan Bas is most difficult trail at Tremblant. I think it took the founder Joe Ryan's name.
For my part I think that the most difficult trail in Tremblant is 83 Dynamite, you are right for Joe Ryan
Your skiing skill is professional level. I think you went to the difficult glade area that is besides 66 Tunnel. 😀 Is 66 Tunnel the way downhill directly, isn't it?

It's the beginning of Taiga which is more difficult, you can do the top of the CBC and enter Taiga in the center, it will be easier

It’s because the trail difficulties are relative to the mountain you’re on. So if it seems like there’s lower standards for double black diamonds, it’s because the mountain as a whole isn’t as difficult.
@@coasterthekid8867 you're right, but trails harder than taïga are only single-blacks. for example, dunzee on the south side.
I find that the upper part of Taiga is similar to Sensation
@@domturgeon6327There's a big difference between taïga and Sensation. Taïga is chock full of insanely well placed skiable lines (yes, even at upper taïga) meanwhile sensation has pretty much no well placed skiable chance. If you're an intermediate skier, your next line in sensation is going to be a game of chance between being able to go down it, and having to slide-slip, or just walking back up, meanwhile taïga is pretty much guaranteed to give you at least one line.
@@holymeto9981 I know what you mean, but I think the problem is there’s no clear specifications on what defines difficulty. For example, there’s a lot of times where a double black glade is essentially just a black diamond trail but ungroomed and in trees because that creates an added level of difficulty. It’s also important to note that a lot of mountains would much rather overwrite a trail then underrate it. So if somethings on the edge between blue and black you probably make it black because it’s better to be safe. I do wish however, that there was a more consistent difficulty system, kind of like how rockclimbing works.

Impossible que ça soyent le 29 décembre 2022. Cette journée là, la windigo et la fuddle duddle avait de la neige et étaient ouvertes, et il faisait le beau temps. Il ne neigeait pas.
Every double diamond glade that I’ve done either starts with a steep and narrow blind drop into tight woods or starts off looking super tame, and then falls off the face of the Earth. This one seems to be the latter.

@@holymeto9981 did I say it was complex? I’m pretty sure I said it starts off flat and then dramatically changes in pitch.
@@coasterthekid8867 yeah but it doesn't fall off the face of the earth, unlike buzz, sensation and dynamite. It just becomes slightly steeper, that's all.
If there’s one thing I have to give tremblant credit for, it’s that they really do a nice job at providing different varieties of grooming. They have some great not-groomed and natural terrain, amazing corduroy cruisers, and some steep mogul runs. I’ve been to too many mountains in the east that have like 90% groomed moguls or 90% hard-pressed terrain and it just gets boring if you don’t have the variety.
I really wish they put more features on here because there’s so much space. I know it’s probably hard because it’s a green trail that gets a lot of traffic from little kids but even just putting one or two boxes, rails, or jumps throughout the trail would be nice. I think that beginner terrain parks are so important because just having a smaller version of an advanced feature helps out so much when it comes to hitting that bigger feature.

Un des très beau sous bois de Tremblant, j’espère pouvoir le faire au moins une fois cette saison
