CONSTANTINE: Movie Review
Просмотров 299День назад
#movie #moviereview #constantine This is a very dark movie and not just in the theme but in the atmosphere, similar to a Gotham type of vibe. The actors chose a very somber, deep speech pattern which was hard to understand in some spots. This was a bit irritating, and I found using Closed Captioning to compensate. The darkness of the movie became a bit cheesy with plenty of predictable one line...

#300yeasoflonging, #thedjinn, #movie What are The Djinn: ruclips.net/video/Yg-A2glk8q0/видео.html MY REVIEW - This movie is beautifully narrated and told in a romantic fanciful style. I love Tilda Swinson and I believe the reason why she was prominent in the advertising of this film is because so many people recognize and love her as well. But this film is all about the Djinn. Even though the s...

Jodi Arias: Dirty Little Secret Movie Review
This hateful narrator is about as flaming a racist as it gets
Season 2 sucks !
Miss this show
This reminds me of the current presidential election. Kamala Harris is literally running against a convicted felon, serial liar, adulterer, scammer that's a narcissistic bully that lead an insurrection against his own country. She was a successful prosecutor, city attorney, Attorney general, senator and VZp of the United States. And she's barely tied.😞
"Twice as good to get HALF of what they have" Very true... Chris Rock said that he has 2 black neighbors in his wealthy gated neighborhood in New Jersey: Mary J Blige, and Jay-Z.... You know what his white neighbor does? He's a fucking Dentist 😂🤦🏾♂️
Rusty's "Fear of a Black Hat" was funny to me. I didn't realize who he was and how many movies he'd been in including "Hollywood Shuffle". He's one of those guys who just slipped under the radar to me until just recently. I may go back and watch this movie since I haven't seen it in a while. I may have more of an appreciation for it now.
No, he is one of those BLACK directors who was not honored for his amazing work in the industry!!
I won't lie. I thought this was supposed to be a horror movie for some reason. LOL! However, it doesn't sound like my cup of tea if it's a poorly-fleshed out love story. Great review!
As big of a comic fan I am, I never read Constantine. I haven't seen the movie either, but it seems like something I could rock with based on what you've presented. I'll have to add it to my list.
Put it on that ever-expanding list for sure LOL!!
Nothing worse than an ambitious, well dressed jackass.
Intro was a bit long, I watch anything new on this movie, but the sound going in n out was a bit rough
Thanks for the feedback!
The movie shows Walter’s life in a very sad and painful way. No man should suffer like Walter.
Its pretty hard to make pool exciting or even mildly interesting. The same camera shots over and over. Nothing happens. I wish i could write more but I fell asleep on it, woke up and nothing changed. Dull
I hear you man. I LOVE pool but I HATE Baseball! LOL and the only time baseball is interesting to me is in the movie "The Fan" with Robert De Niro for real. But it wasn't the baseball it was what was happening in the rest of the movie. I can't watch "A League of Their Own" or "Field of Dreams" for that same reason. So I get it. Thanks for watching!!
The movie isn't just about pool. If you think it is you missed the point but it sounds like you never really saw the film
@@MrAitraining it was so dark and unhappy. Piper looked like she was on downers. Then when it gets so dull you can't stand it, Ralph says. "Alright Fast Eddy, Let's play some pool" and reaches into his pocket to draw out and endless amount of cash. But then again, you think I didn't see the film.
@@alg11297 yes piper lauri was a lonely, depressed alcoholic. That was her character. Film was meant to be dark but It's cool. It wasn't for you obviously.
@@MrAitraining I love films that make you want to kill yourself after you've seen it. Don't you?
Nobody likes a snob
Due to Nick's double standards with Tom & Diasy's separate affairs, I've always felt that he was a biased untrustworthy narrator. Just as Gatsby was delusional about a future with Daisy, Nick was delusional about what type of man Gatsby was even after he learned the truth of his identity. Nick kept trying to rationalize it
I love the 1959 version of Imitation Of Life. It's more intense on the emotional side. But I have a theory about Sarah Jane during her mother's funeral. I don't think Sarah Jane was actually there for Annie's funeral. I think she was only there to ensure that Laura would continue to take care of her. It's the smirk she had on her face in the limousine that gave it away. Now that the only visible evidence of her being half Black is gone, Sarah Jane is now able to live as a full White woman openly to everyone without hiding from her mother. Laura & Susie will likely not call her out on it
Great observation. I never really thought about that but no they would never turn their back on Mary Jane because of the memory of her Mother. I would have to take care of her selfish ass for that alone. The 2 movies are actually quite different. I would love a sequel to this story where Mary Jane marries a white man and her first child comes out obviously black. LOL GENECTICS!! Thanks for watching!!
Wow! I did not know it was rejected by all those studios, and was filmed in Dixie Mafia territory. And the public faces of the Dixie Mafia , the Clintons showed up.Just amazing how history connects all.
I've watched this movie a couple of times. It's a great movie with a great storyline.
God, you're so full of it.
Nobody makes you a slave. You allow yourself to become one. 400 years and nobody said “hey! That’s enough!”🤨
RIHP Diahann Carroll. James Earl Jones & Roxie Roker!!!❤❤❤❤
Laura Jane was a child of a very light skin black man, no one said he was white.
The Waters character was explained in a nutshell with the story of the poor unfortunate exploited Black soldier in France. No one had the guts to take out or address the white soldiers publicly ridiculing them, so because of Internalised hatred they murdered their own fellow Black soldier.
It had nothing to do with them not having the guts to confront the white soldiers. Their anger was directed at the black soldier because he ALLOWED himself to be ridiculed and mocked. Yes, they hated the white soldiers for what they did, but they hated their own black soldier even more for his lack of self respect.
Laurence Hylton Jacobs is SUCH a good actor. So was Diahann Carroll. This movie is GOOD.
I think your comments on inner codes and even self hatred is very interesting. It's something I've seen in both the autism/nuerodivergent community as well as the queer community. When I'm with a group of nds we talk completely differently to each other then we ever would around nuerotypicals.
Yeah I think its a common thing that people do in familiar groups. Its done on the macro level but also on the micro level between very close friends and relations.
"Not unlike the country today." You think we live in the same America as our for fathers? Honestly? And i notice the pictures of the Black man with Trump when you stated "we're not all brothers and sister", i doubt you have made the same corelation with a photo of the late Ron Brown and Clinton. I also find funny the assumption that "white people think we all know each other." Im Black & 45, I've experienced alot of things but white people assuming we all know each other isn't one. Now if thats what you've experienced thats an understandable antidote, however it was conveyed as a fact as opposed to an antidote. Dont know if you'll ever read this but thanks for reading.
They're other antidotes and inaccurateses throughout your review. I see your outlook of our people's condition in America quite dated. And stating that our condition here is worsening downright dishonest. But again I digress.
Regarding the fact that we "all know each other" for whites they put us all in one category however for American Blacks most of us all do kind of "know" each other because we know the struggle. There are things that we do know about each other. There is a kinship of pain that we all share. Those who have experienced it in whatever level or degree. But we are NOT one monolithic group of people, which is obvious. I understand those Blacks who want to fit in, like the school yard playground. If I nestle up to the Bully he won't beat me, or at least not as hard. I get it. Those conservative Blacks are not clueless, they just choose to ignore the racism, or try to get their own slice of the "American Pie" out it somehow. We're all fucked, Black, White, Native Americans, etc. I personally think it will take aliens to land before we all band together. And even that may not do it. Maybe only another thousand years or another World War or 2 more. Thanks so much for watching most importantly for responding. It means so much to ME.
I didn’t feel bad for Sara Jane I felt bad for the mother cause she loved her daughter unconditionally it was not only hard for Sara Jane it was hard for her mother as well back then no one approve or respect mixed marriages or mixed childrens Sara Jane was selfish and only thought about herself I watch this movie as a child an I always felt this way there nothing like a mothers love but her guilt at the end show how she was responsible for her own mothers death she die from broke heart the only thing she had of her own was her daughter an she love her unconditionally an she denied her only one mother of that
The mother was a sad case. What we don't do for our children? We feel their pain even though we know there is nothing we can do about it. I would have loved to see a sequel of sorts for Sara Jane's story after the fact. Maybe a story about her grandchildren or something. I think that would be worth the read. Thanks so much for watching!!
This is for the commentator of this movie. Ma'am Sarah Jane doesn't struggle with her identity as African American. Her character is doing these things because how society treats her. That boy didn't want to be with her because she was Black. Ma'am you need to go back to the drawing and ask Black how they feel in a society that want them in it.
Thanks so much for watching! But I'm not sure what movie you were watching but Sarah Jane says that she not only does not want to be Black but that she hates even being associated with being Black aka her own Mother. She says it over and over throughout the entire movie! But that is what's so great about movies, everyone can have different perspectives.
The white military officials knew exactly what they were doing when they gave Waters rank and the position in "oversee" black soldiers. The same technique slave masters did during slavery.
I knew you were from Tennessee. Because you're the only 10 I see.
LOL!!
Don't matter
Live and let live
The proviso that some viewers may find the content offensive. Is as much a commentary on the theme of Imitation of Life as the film itself. The proviso is an insult to those made the film, those that approach any piece of art on its own terms, and destructive example of "woke" , where the visceral truth is suppressed. And for what point?
great movie
How anybody ca compare Waters to Clarence Thomas is beyond me.
One of my favorite films of all time
Man that song had tears 😢 😭 literally
ME TOO!!
I understood what Waters was explaining but Waters eventually became the oppressor he was trying to save “us” from.
Very true. You look into the abyss and the abyss looks back into you. Thanks for watching!

I love when movies feature literally me
I saw Soldiers Story Movie 🎥 it was really good, especially Sgt. Waters telling his men about being black in the military 🪖
Wonderful review. It's too bad Meghan Markle, in her last CBS interview, wasn't able to bring any sensitivity and empathy for the parents who suffered the terrible loss of a son or daughter who took their life.
ooooh don't get me started on Meghan Markle!! LOL!! Thanks for watching!
how are you not viral yet! I love how you pick these underrated magnificent movies and do a great job of presenting them. and its a very good thing you actually do a lot of research/ I love your videos. i wanna be an actor/director when i grow up, and as a 15 year old, im highly insipired by your videos
Thank you so much. Very happy you enjoy my videos. This helps me to continue working at it :) Please share with friends that could help my little channel grow. Thanks again!
The way Dickie turned on Tom was brutal...he saw Tom as a tool...a rich man's pet. Once he got tired of it, once he was no longer " cute " , he wanted to be rid of him and started abusing him. What he did not think about was pets grow and grow up; their teeth become sharper. When the pet is kicked, just one more kick is all it takes before it bites back. Dickie, if he had lived, he would have eventually left Marge.. even if he did marry her and had a family. He would have exhausted every well.. personal as well as financial. He would have died a vain, jaded man..and alone...just a little later.
This is an encoded film by producer Ross Hunter ie `passing as straight`. I interviewed Ross Hunter and love him but this film, and the violnece against the mixed race Black girl, has no justification. Furthermore it emanates from Hunter`s own guilt as a gay man and as a Jew. Casting Susan Kohner who has German, Jewish and hispanic origins only reenforces my theory that it is Hunter`s Jewish guilt projected onto a mainstream audience. Terrible for Jews to watch, resonates of Nazi Germany. But then director Douglas Sirk was a Jewish German refugee from Hitler who seems to have hated Jews as much as Hunter (and Adolph Hitler)
Extremely poor writing.. if it weren't for Bryan Cranston, I wouldn't go past episode 3. For example, where's the black SUV?!
I remember the very first time I saw this movie, The scene where the mother finds her and see her for the last time, made me want to see ALL of the film. I have seen it many more times and have a copy of BOTH versions on DVD.
The writing was poor and I had a difficult time liking any character. And no matter how understanding Adam's actions may be, it did not make his character any less frustrating.
LOL!!
One thing I disagree with, not all white people are racist. And there are African Americans who are racist. Racism is colorless, certain nationalities weather white black, oriental, Native American Indian. There is racism.
Film intéressant à regarder Heaven can wait
I was just thinking about this movie. I want to see it again.
This is just my opinion. The girl in Imitation of Life was not passing as white she was half white and I dont blame her not one bit to do what she did or anyone for that matter back in the day . Im also a biracial person with light skin while its still difficult these days , We could never imagine what they had to deal with.
Thank you so much for sharing and watching!
Practically white. That one drop rule.
