#thegate, #moviereview, #film
The Gate is a 1987 supernatural horror film directed by Tibor Takács and starring Stephen Dorff in his film debut. The film follows two young boys who accidentally release a horde of demons from their backyard through a large hole in the ground.

CONSTANTINE: Movie Review

#movie #moviereview #constantine This is a very dark movie and not just in the theme but in the atmosphere, similar to a Gotham type of vibe. The actors chose a very somber, deep speech pattern which was hard to understand in some spots. This was a bit irritating, and I found using Closed Captioning to compensate. The darkness of the movie became a bit cheesy with plenty of predictable one line...

    This reminds me of the current presidential election. Kamala Harris is literally running against a convicted felon, serial liar, adulterer, scammer that's a narcissistic bully that lead an insurrection against his own country. She was a successful prosecutor, city attorney, Attorney general, senator and VZp of the United States. And she's barely tied.😞

    I love the 1959 version of Imitation Of Life. It's more intense on the emotional side. But I have a theory about Sarah Jane during her mother's funeral. I don't think Sarah Jane was actually there for Annie's funeral. I think she was only there to ensure that Laura would continue to take care of her. It's the smirk she had on her face in the limousine that gave it away. Now that the only visible evidence of her being half Black is gone, Sarah Jane is now able to live as a full White woman openly to everyone without hiding from her mother. Laura & Susie will likely not call her out on it

    • @themoviebuffer

      Great observation. I never really thought about that but no they would never turn their back on Mary Jane because of the memory of her Mother. I would have to take care of her selfish ass for that alone. The 2 movies are actually quite different. I would love a sequel to this story where Mary Jane marries a white man and her first child comes out obviously black. LOL GENECTICS!! Thanks for watching!!

    The Waters character was explained in a nutshell with the story of the poor unfortunate exploited Black soldier in France. No one had the guts to take out or address the white soldiers publicly ridiculing them, so because of Internalised hatred they murdered their own fellow Black soldier.

    • @Anna-Jade
      @Anna-Jade 29 дней назад

      It had nothing to do with them not having the guts to confront the white soldiers. Their anger was directed at the black soldier because he ALLOWED himself to be ridiculed and mocked. Yes, they hated the white soldiers for what they did, but they hated their own black soldier even more for his lack of self respect.

    "Not unlike the country today." You think we live in the same America as our for fathers? Honestly? And i notice the pictures of the Black man with Trump when you stated "we're not all brothers and sister", i doubt you have made the same corelation with a photo of the late Ron Brown and Clinton. I also find funny the assumption that "white people think we all know each other." Im Black & 45, I've experienced alot of things but white people assuming we all know each other isn't one. Now if thats what you've experienced thats an understandable antidote, however it was conveyed as a fact as opposed to an antidote. Dont know if you'll ever read this but thanks for reading.

    • @lordjohnson48

      They're other antidotes and inaccurateses throughout your review. I see your outlook of our people's condition in America quite dated. And stating that our condition here is worsening downright dishonest. But again I digress.

    • @themoviebuffer
      @themoviebuffer Месяц назад

      Regarding the fact that we "all know each other" for whites they put us all in one category however for American Blacks most of us all do kind of "know" each other because we know the struggle. There are things that we do know about each other. There is a kinship of pain that we all share. Those who have experienced it in whatever level or degree. But we are NOT one monolithic group of people, which is obvious. I understand those Blacks who want to fit in, like the school yard playground. If I nestle up to the Bully he won't beat me, or at least not as hard. I get it. Those conservative Blacks are not clueless, they just choose to ignore the racism, or try to get their own slice of the "American Pie" out it somehow. We're all fucked, Black, White, Native Americans, etc. I personally think it will take aliens to land before we all band together. And even that may not do it. Maybe only another thousand years or another World War or 2 more. Thanks so much for watching most importantly for responding. It means so much to ME.

    This is for the commentator of this movie. Ma'am Sarah Jane doesn't struggle with her identity as African American. Her character is doing these things because how society treats her. That boy didn't want to be with her because she was Black. Ma'am you need to go back to the drawing and ask Black how they feel in a society that want them in it.

    The way Dickie turned on Tom was brutal...he saw Tom as a tool...a rich man's pet. Once he got tired of it, once he was no longer " cute " , he wanted to be rid of him and started abusing him. What he did not think about was pets grow and grow up; their teeth become sharper. When the pet is kicked, just one more kick is all it takes before it bites back. Dickie, if he had lived, he would have eventually left Marge.. even if he did marry her and had a family. He would have exhausted every well.. personal as well as financial. He would have died a vain, jaded man..and alone...just a little later.

    This is an encoded film by producer Ross Hunter ie `passing as straight`. I interviewed Ross Hunter and love him but this film, and the violnece against the mixed race Black girl, has no justification. Furthermore it emanates from Hunter`s own guilt as a gay man and as a Jew. Casting Susan Kohner who has German, Jewish and hispanic origins only reenforces my theory that it is Hunter`s Jewish guilt projected onto a mainstream audience. Terrible for Jews to watch, resonates of Nazi Germany. But then director Douglas Sirk was a Jewish German refugee from Hitler who seems to have hated Jews as much as Hunter (and Adolph Hitler)
