How to take measurements for production or realize dwg saveability

I can't recommend a specific class, but you might want to begin by watching video tutorials to learn the fundamentals of a 3D software program. Step-by-step videos that show how to create models similar to your project concept can be particularly useful. Using the techniques and tools showcased in these tutorials, combined with a bit of creativity, you can create your own design. Remember, this process requires time and practice, so start with simple designs and gradually progress to more complex ones.

Not bad. Got halfway through, realized that Max 2024 changed crap up again for no reason, couldn't select a poly loop to save my life, then gave up =D There seems to be a step being skipped over here, though, because after vertexes are welded, and the shell modifier is added, followed by edit poly modifier in order to select polys, there's a couple thousand faces inside this thing, and you cannot select a loop like you can on a cube, for example. If you manage to select/delete all outside poly faces, you'll see there are just more faces inside due to all these individual shapes which never become one shape- even after using attach. What am I missing here?
Select one polygon, and then CTRL + Double Left-Click on an adjacent polygon to select the polygon loop. I need to see the model to diagnose the problem. Do it differently. Instead of adding the Shell modifier, copy it, rotate it 180 degrees, make sure it's 1 cm away from the first part, and attach it.

Right-click the snap icon in the main toolbar and tick the vertex, then left-click and hold the snap button and switch to 2.5d. Don't forget to change the reference coordinate system to local.

Move it further along the x-axis to enhance the distance and increase the outer amount of the shell modifier to enhance the thickness.
