Didn't get any good ideas for this theme.. so just went with some random though. *build: ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/56/blobrescue Used 6000.0.22f1, New pro-builder is so difficult to use, i couldn't find how to select vertices.. so used external 3d tool instead. This is pretty much finished now, will just download some music and upload builds tomorrow.

      i9-9900K + RTX3090.. was around 15-30fps in most places on that fly-through.. (so not very impressive, but still - even Unreal forest demos are similarly laggy on this setup)

      @@halolalala seems to have dynamic resolution+STP+some upscale filter (around 43:20 )

    I have only been using Unity since 2008 so I thought I just did not know what I was doing but to see you look for the package the same way I did, was a relief that maybe its not me. In my case, I am on Unity 2022.3 and it has UI toolkit but its 2 years old now so I wonder of VectorAPI still axists because I can not access painter2D from MeshGenerationContext

    Hello, you seem to be quite proficient with Unity. I have a question: When creating terrains in Unity, which is more commonly used, Terrain or Mesh? I'm curious to know.

      Mesh has better performance usually, but terrain easier to use..I'd look for asset store plugins to have good terrain and foliage performance.. (for mobile might have to look for mesh terrains)

    Try making a build! FSR and DLSS are hampered by the bad in-editor performance due to the huge CPU overhead in the editor.

    how do you get one of these splines to stretch a mesh as a track instead of spline instantiating a ton of track pieces that are hard on the processing of the computer? if i use spline instantiate the turns and twists of a road look like a set of stairs because they are flat objects and the spline tool is not bending and morphing them..

      the Spline Samples had those examples (its in package manager, spline, samples tab) i think it was one of these docs.unity3d.com/Packages/com.unity.splines@2.5/manual/extrude-mesh.html docs.unity3d.com/Packages/com.unity.splines@2.5/manual/extrude-component.html but there were some Loft extruded scripts included too

      @@unitycoder looks like the extrude script doesn't stretch actual meshes. it just gives you this clay colored pipe. there's a video sponsored by unity where this guy had to make his own tool to make a road generator and he even stated that what he's doing is very "hacky". weird that it's sponsored by unity and he's having to do hacky stuff with the engines base code that you don't normally have access to.

      yeah so I don't have that registry key or anything but for me a folder with 280 mp3s, even after specifically setting their default app to be VLC, just opens instantly and explorer stays in "details" mode like on the right side

      @@VDavid003oh.. maybe it could partially depend on some specific windows settings then too? i do have adjusted some, to make it more of that classic theme, disabled useless things in performance settings, enabled or disabled stuff in explorer settings etc..

      tested it briefly on previous video, and its amazing so far! probably can save +50% working hours per year. Had some issues with shaders, but haven't read the docs yet.

    Hi, I'm using what you've created as a base for an editor tool I'm working on, but I'm trying to make it work with the latest version of InvokeAI. It seems that the post data needs to be different as I'm getting an error of MethodNotAllowed for the data being passed into the web request. Is there a way to find the structure of the data that needs to be sent?

      @@unitycoder oh yeah just read some of the comments about it, seems much more difficult to use it and that was back in 2.1. I can only imagine what it looks like now with verson 3+. I'll try look around a bit more, chances are I'll need to find another way to implement stable diffusion or just scrap it.

    This worked really well for me but when I try to build to Android, it will build if I don't have a model loaded. But if I load a model, it give a Gradle error.

    Honestly, even now SteamVR is leagues better. Its alot smoother, easier to implement and comes with hand posing out of the box.

      No, it won't work in mobile devices (although docs say its because of VFX, so maybe it could work without that?). I think creating separate much lighter wave simulation for Quest would be best solution though..

      @@unitycoder thanks for your reply, yeah with so many hardware and platform limitations, custom building the features is the way to go (in this case a wave simulator), but given how much work it takes to build the physics and visuals only to use it for a small part of a small experience targeting a small market (Quest 3) is just not worth it. unless you know any other asset that does that? (lighter and more performant at the cost of less accuracy or visual fidelity)
