#gratitudesunday Every Sunday (on occasion a Monday), I take a couple of hours to go through my photos from the week and lay them out in a Big #happyplanner . This serves as a reminder of the beautiful moments I've experienced, as well as the hardships I survived. It's a sort of spiritual practice of gratitude for the week I've had, and a source of optimism for the week ahead. I invite you to "...

Can Art Journals Change the World? We Think so…
I hope they watch this video I’ve recently purchased this and all your needs will definitely be things I’d want to be able to do.. hopefully it’s a nice quick app update! Ughh
A quick app update would be wonderful! Fingers crossed, because I enjoy the printer otherwise. Thanks for watching. I appreciate your input. 😊
Lots of laughs! Guess I have to move now... 😂 "Twin" sister 😂😂😂
🤣 the drones are watching ❤️ love you Big Sister 😘
This was so helpful to watch. I was considering this sticker printer, but given the waste, pricing, and usability issues, I will wait until they resolve it to be more reasonable. Thank you so much for walking through the entire process!
Glad I could be helpful. I really want to like this printer and hope that the more I use it, the easier it will get. But they really need to give us more maneuverability in photo placement. I wonder if I used a tablet with a bigger screen if it would make a difference. I appreciate your comment and taking the time to watch. ❤️
Love the idea of starting with a craft binder! Very resourceful and beautiful project. The tab dividers are great and the journal in the back pocket is the perfect useful idea for a project like that! Thankful your creativity helped you in a difficult time and you did it by creating a memorable gift for your sister- win win!❤
Thank you for all your wonderful comments 💕 glad you enjoyed it 😌
Another fantastic video!
You are a loyal fan 💞 so grateful 🥲
Thanks so much for sharing. Im loving all these ideas. New Aussie sub here . happy new year.👍
Hello and welcome! 🤗 So glad I can be helpful. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. ❤️ P.S. getting to Australia one day is on my bucket list. 😁 Happy New Year!
Whoa, my blood pressure 😂 You have patience to be awarded 🏆 Thank you for showing all this!
Hahaha 🤣 I know right? Getting started with something new is never easy. I have some follow-up comments that I will share today as I make my gratitude Sunday video. Now...deep breaths....in.....and ...oooout 😂❤️
Thanks for the shoutout! This is so great !🤩 thanks for the tips- I didn’t realize how many were accented with black (or white)!also the tips about working in threes✅ and even though it was a ‘clean your brush off’ page you still had the eye to keep that as the focus and let that page alone, rather than filling in every white space🎨. Fantastic stuff my friend!
Woohoo 😁 glad you enjoyed it and that it was helpful. ❤️
Great follow along video! All kinds of creative inspiration here! 🎄
Thank you ❤️ Inspiration is contagious! Thanks for sharing your thoughts. 😁
Wow Barb! Best Christmas gift ever!!! So beautiful! You know me well... Almost too beautiful to use, but I promise I will... After I show it off to my bonsai friends. You are so talented! Thank you for creating this during your very difficult time... You amaze me! I love you! 💗
🥰 Touche....ok...now you made me cry 🤗 love you Big Sister 😘
The Bonsai Journal is beautiful, thank you for sharing
Thank you Clara 🙂 I appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment 🤗 Wishing you a wonderful holiday season.
Ok this is awesome! Glad you got this equipment and made a whole great video without so many production worries on your part! Thoroughly enjoy watching your creative process and… I concur with myself- don’t mind listening to you ramble as you create 😁❄️
😂 I'm so glad you concur with yourself hahaha! And haven't changed your mind after spending an hour listening to me. Thank you for the compliments. Did you wrap presents or work on a project while you watched? Or was this just 'kick back' relaxing time? Curious minds want to know. 🤗 ❤️
@ yes I was wrapping! Then I watched it again later to chill 🤣🎄
Wow! Twice??!! That's fabulous. Thank you.
Great news, easier editing for you = more videos for us! Appreciate all the thought you put into this. Love seeing your EDC journal, I bought a Jibun Techo on sale at the bookstore just because I wanted to try out that super thin durable paper, not actually using it for a planner! Even your ‘test’ video is fun! Thanks for putting your stuff out there!
Thank you ❤️ Yes, I foresee more videos, more frequently. At least that is the intention. I want to thank you for your part ...by interacting with me and sharing your like minded interests, it reminds me that I'm not alone. A sort of validation. So thank you for all your comments and friendship ❤️❤️❤️ I'd love to hear your opinion about the Jibun techo's paper. Is it as wonderful as we've heard?
Ingenious way to deal with a formidable challenge...as the chief caregiver for my spouse I had lost myself completely. I just began to add pictures to some of my awards to help me validate these experiences because as a general rule they were often not recognized unless they went wrong.
Thank you so much for sharing your experience. The things that "go wrong" linger so much easier than the things that go right. It's such a part of the human condition. It’s so important to find ways to honour and acknowledge all of our experiences. I'm really glad you are brave enough to validate your own experiences! We all wear crowns! 👑❤️ Thank you for your comment 🤗
Love watching you prepare tor the trip-you are so organized! I especially love the wraps you made. They look delicious.
Thank you Lisa-waaaaaaaaa 🤗❤️
What a fun challenge you made for yourself
Thank you 😊 I appreciate your comment. Thanks for watching ❤️ and I love your RUclips channel name. 😁
Nice video and journal! Love the back and forth from showing the journal to Barbara back in the studio for commentary 😊
Thank you 😊 I'm so glad you enjoyed the video! I think our art is a reflection of who we are, so it's important to me to share myself and my reactions. Building a relationship with my viewers and a community of like-minded creators is important to me. As always...Thanks again for your kind words! 😊 It's always good to see you here.
Love how each page is it’s own world. I especially love the seascape, where each page reveals more of the picture. Great work!
Lisa-wa my friend! <hugs> Thank you so much! Yes, each page is it's own little story. The seascape is one of my favorites too with it's peek-a-boo pages. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I love it!
Oh wow!! Pretty cool. Loved learning your process. I also love the colorful tweezers!!
Hi Shalana 🤗 thank you ❤️ Those tweezers are my favorite colors. And with these big Italian hands they come in so handy! 😂
Super fun! I didn't make it to this event this year. Love the t-shirt and I am such a Scrappy Boy fan. For your journals did you create it using what you purchased or did you take product with you to create in your room? Or a mix of both?
Hi Shalana :-) I did take some ephemera with me from home (just in case), but didn't use it. I picked up some papers from Tessler during the make and take and the rest is what was supplied. That was the "make believe" rules I gave myself for this personal little challenge: To use what they provided. And I did it! I just finished putting it together, so now I think I will use it to add thoughts and memories from the two days, then put a video together to share. Thank you so much for watching and asking questions. I love the interaction. <hugs>
Another great video, love revisiting the Expo!
Thank you 😊 it's one way of making the Expo last as long as I can 😆
What a great idea!
Hi Lisa, ❤️ thank you so much 🙂 🤗
Great video! Great way to enjoy crafting without doing their specific projects!
Thank you so much. I really do enjoy being around everyone at the expo, and being surrounded by all the supplies. Kid in a candy store vibe! 😂
What a great memento to have! My daughter and I were also in Edison for the make and take and took several workshops for the weekend! We had a blast! TFS!😊
Oh thank you so much watching, subscribing and leaving a comment 🤗 that's so nice ❤️ The expo is so much fun. Perhaps if the stars align, we'll bump into each other next year 😁 In the meantime, I'll look for you here. Have a wonderful day!
Hi Barbara! It was really nice meeting you, and I really enjoyed looking at the art journals you created! Looking forward to seeing how the new one came out!
Yayyy!! Hi Melissa ☺️ Glad you found me. Thank you for your kindness during the expo, it was really nice to meet you too ❤️ thanks for subscribing. Keep in touch 😊
Ok I have two! The Safari page, love having words pop off the page like that, and the clean your brush page! I love seeing some white space! Also I may have missed it but what do you use for the actual ’journal’! Thanks!
Hi! 😊👋 YAY I am so glad you have questions. I look forward to working on videos to answer them. The journal started off as a hard cover sketch book. I think they are pretty generic in art supply stores. The paper has a little texture to it and some weight. Not as heavy as watercolor paper, if I go heavy using some ink it will bleed through. But the solution to that is to spread white acrylic or gesso before starting a page if you intend to get real inky. :-) (Just got in from the make and take. Hope to run into you tomorrow. Don't forget to say hi if you see me. ) 🌞
@@theladylaughsalot sorry I missed you! I tried to cram as much into the day as I could! Is there anyway you could share your email with me. I can send you pics from some of my finds at the show!

Oh thank you so much 😌 so glad you enjoyed it.
Perfect day then😊
Thank you, yes. I do my best 😊
I wanted to work in my memory keeper today but refused to miss out on such a gorgeous day. Thank goodness it's an easy set up and break down. The weather shifted a few hours later. I was back inside in time to watch the rain from comfortably inside!! 😮😊
Just found your channel looking up expo videos. Heading to the Edison NJ expo in Aug, are you road tripping there this yr? That was fun video series 🎨
Hi 👋 Yes, I'll be there. Glad you found me. Make sure to say hello if you see me. I appreciate you letting me know you enjoyed my little expo series. I was wondering if I should do it again this year. Hope to see you soon.
@@theladylaughsalot I will do that! I’ll only be there Friday. And would love to see you document this year’s adventure again!!
Thanks for sharing everything I love and need to get 😊
Thanks 😊 I'm glad you liked it. Let's create together...I'm open to suggestions on what to create next! Maybe I can inspire you with some project ideas for when you get yours. Thanks for the comment 🤗
Awed, as usual, by your artistry and incredible attention to detail. I have heard of pressing leaves, but I never realised you could preserve a leaf so beautifully and professionally. The whole page, layout, photos, and colors so perfectly captured a wonderful memory.
We had an amazing day! Couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate a birthday. Thank you so much!
It was an awesome day indeed ❤️ huzzah!....or bonsai!!
Awesome T-shirt!! The wildflower die looks pretty amazing. I like the butterflies with the solar paste. I have two solar paste that I haven't quite taken the time to figure out how to use. Nice haul!
Thanks Shalana 😊 I'm looking forward to playing with the solar pastes and Mica powders. I haven't quite had the time to jump in just yet. I think there's a lot of fun to be had in the figuring out part. 😁 I'm happy to hear from you ❤️
Thank you so much for this video! I loved seeing all of the demos and fun products! I also loved seeing Shalana as we've been on design team together! Happy crafting and have a great rest of your day!
❤️ thank you! Shalana is wonderful. How fun that the two of you have collaborated together 😊 I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Happy crafting to you as well, and perhaps our paths will cross one day too. I love our crafting family. ❤️
Do I need a laminator for the toner reactive foil? In an attempt to be as cheap as possible (I've never done foiling before so don't really want to buy a laminator), I've been thinking that I could get a toner/adhesive pen and draw the design with a stencil, cover with reactive foil, and use my cricut mini heat press. Do you think this would work well enough? I'm doing a book cover on fabric so printing the design isn't really an option either.
This sounds like a fun project! I've never used adhesive pens before but the premise sounds plausible. You've really piqued my curiosity. I want to look into this more before I answer. So "stay tuned". 😊 I should have time later today to really sink my teeth into this idea. Thanks for the question ❤️
Hello again ❤️ I've had some time to research this a bit. So, reactive foil just needs something sticky to pull the foil off…it doesn't need heat. It's the toner that needs heat to make it sticky. So I would double check the directions on the toner/adhesive pen to see if it needs heat to activate the toner/adhesive, or maybe it just needs to sit a little bit to get tacky like the duo gel I used in this video. You mentioned you are using a stencil, so the decofoil duo gel might be a better idea than the toner/adhesive pen. It is designed for fabric. I watched a video by @moreycurtisdunbar Painted Studio where she had success on fabric without heat, but you can also use your iron if you can't get to your project right away…your iron will reactivate the duo gel. I'm really excited for your project and hope this answer helps. Experimenting before getting to your project should be a fun adventure! Let me know how it goes! 😊
Hey crafty friend!! Our crafty community connections is a special gem that fulfills the heart. Your review will have me go back and access my foiling. I have all the things and really haven't touched it. I am inspired!! I love your tag!! You rocked it!! Continued prayers for you and your hubby!! 🥰
Thank you for the continued prayers ❤️ Glad to know I'm not the only one who doesn't use their foiling that much.😁 Hugs and prayers for you as well my friend 🤗 I don't take you for granted.❤️
Oh my, I'm so sorry for your loss. Sending you and your family my sympathies. I certainly know how ... truly odd... it is to deal with grief... as life goes on... sigh. It is definitely challenging times and everything all rolled up. It's hard to put into words... but I send you love love love... take care!
