baby boy gender reveal, with colored smoke tires ordered them from (highway max) online, expensive but I have 2 daughter's and didnt think I'd get a son!! 🤣
Sounds like it had a lot of problems for the amount of time you've had it
@daoyang8919 The motor mount and evap module shouldn't have had to be replaced. Other than that, it's been very good to this day. Currently at 115,000kms.
Where did you get the air line antifreeze
@@joseespinozaelsurdo2893 auto parts stores should have it or should be able to get it.
The dealer told me that dusty and dirty airbags go quicker. Clean them for longer life!
When they go its always cracks, so I dont know how dust or dirt can make a crack but what do I know.
You chose to buy a vehicle from one of the most unreliable brands in the US ? Lol
When taking off the airbags. Do you set it in the lowest mode or the highest?
@2010asbel I would set it to entry exit and then jack the rear end of the truck up with a jack so the bags are free. Make sure you put it in tire jack mode before you start jacking or pull the fuse so the compressor doesn't turn on in the middle of the job, though.
@@jamespenner1412 Thanks for the tips. I did it yesterday and that’s exactly what I did and installation went pretty smooth!
@@2010asbel great to hear!!!
Muchas gracias por tus revisiones. Me han servido bastante para tomar mi decisión.
My question is do you have to drain all of the air out of the system before you change out the airbag?
@@whoop305 no you dont
@@jamespenner1412 thank you sir.
So the part when you said it froze up on you once before. was that while we’re using the anti freeze or before you started using it?
@@whoop305 before I started using it.
Great vid. Good info here. Keep us posted on the airbags. I just bought a 2018 Rebel and going through all possible issues I might have in the future
Do you know where to get a Service/Shop Manual for the Air Suspension System for a 2015 Ram 1500 Sport?
I have a 2017 Ram 2500 w/ rear automatic self leveling and my compressor won’t turn on
Have you checked the fuse?
I have the immediate service needed message. Just had the front suspension redone because one was leaking. Thinking they didn't reset the sensors or something like that. I'll try pulling the fuse. Do I pull it with the truck on or on and running? I used TRQ for the front suspension. Great build quality and materials. Waaay cheaper than Mopar!
Id pull the fuse when its off.
I have the same year 2014 Limited. Having the same troubles on the rear suspension. Where did you get the airbags from and did you look it up through the OEM part number?
I got them off ebay, i just typed in 2014 ram 1500 rear factory air bags. They are all the same on all models from 2013-2018 so far mine are holding up great.
@@jamespenner1412 Thanks just ordered mine. When you are removing the hose from the old air bag are just using a wrench? Also when installing the line to the new bag do you have to tighten a certain amount or do anything else?
@joshv2445 you just have to un do the air line fitting and jack up the truck, and the bags pop out. When putting the fitting into the air bag, spin it in with your fingers the first few rounds, then snug it up with the wrench, go till it's snug, not too tight. You can always check your fittings after with soapy water to make sure no air is coming out
Is it because of how cold it gets there ?
Certainly wont help it lol
Hi I have a 2014 Dodge ram 1500 and the front air suspension goes down in overnight and comes up when I start the truck. But I just realized that it started to do all the time when I turn off the car and leave it for 1 hour and it goes down a little bit and comes up when I start it. Do you have any idea what is that?
1st thing is first spray soapy water on all the fittings and see if you see any spots where its leaking.
Thanks dor the video. Just had mine replaced in my grand cherokee here in alberta. Looking at maybe doing a delete if it happens again.
great video, thank you, how are the after market ones working for ya?? and what are they called so I can buy some too.
They are working great. I just typed in air bags for ram 1500, and you know they are adter market when you see the price difference, lol. They are like $150 Canadian per bag vs. About $1000, i made sure the ones i found were sold from a US website, not china. But they all come from china. And i also made sure they had a 2-year warranty.
So you dont have to recharge the system?
You dont have to if you put air line antifreeze in. The system is not a sealed system like they tell you. The pump has no problem pumping in the air back in. But outside air has moisture in it so thats why you need the airline antifreeze. Works flawless after that.
Thank you for the info

Hello, nice review! I own 2 pacificas 2017 with 90k km and 2020 with 25k km (both are Limited trim). I so much want to install awd for my 2020 pacifica. Can you shoot a video explaining awd system installed on your pacifica? Bottom views of awd transmition. I wanna check which parts I should order to make my pacifica awd too. I'm already have found some parts at eBay
Im not sure you could just swap all the parts. The software for the awd system would also have to be installed. The best thing to do would be to buy a awd pacifica and go from there.
I've got a '16 and my airbag on the right rear will sometimes bottom out just sitting at a light. What's really strange is, it never happens all the time, only randomly. If I air up to Off Road 1 before the pump overheats , sometimes it'll stay up just fine as long as I keep it under 40. Did you ever experience something like that? Any ideas?
Yes thats the exact thing they do. In off road 1 or 2 it pinches off the cracks and then it stays full but on lower settings they leak. Its a classic sign your rear bags are shot. Id recommend doing both rear bags.
@@jamespenner1412 Thank you for the info - you're the first person I've run into who had a definitive answer to my symptoms.
I have owned my truck long enough that all those symptoms have come up. Even if you pin point the bag in the back that is leaking, it wont be long till you have trouble with the other. If you do them both in the rear you should be good for 5+ years without problems. I would make sure to put air line antifreeze in the system after you do the job. It takes out moisture and ensures problem free service in the cold!
Thanks to this video, I got the courage to do it to my 17 Limited. I was just about to convert to coils !
I'm glad i could help!!! Lots of ppl covert them to coils, but if you can do it yourself, the air ride is worth keeping!! I love it.
Thank you
how did the ebay bags work out?
Very good so far. Hold a good load. No complaints yet.
thanks, good video ... suffering the same here with my 2016 Ram.
are you in Canada and which territories are you in ? the air ride doesn't like the cold especially when you don't drive much in colder weather
Im in manitoba. Like i said, if you put air line antifreeze in the system that fixes all the cold weather problems.
nice review, I'm planning to upgrade my 2008 Chrysler T&C 4.0 Limited, still running strong at 300606 kms
Hey, thanks, that's great to hear!!!
My ram has a massage "the air system its cooling down please wait" any clue why this massage? Most of the time its level right but some times goes all the way down, and then the trailer break system massage show up,
If you are getting the cooling down message you probably have a bad leak. And the pump is constantly running to try to pump up the bags.
My guess is you have shot rear air bags, and the pump can't keep up pumping them up anymore.
What’s the link to the eBay bags. I just ordered some. It shipped now i gotta message saying it won’t fit but it matched that it would fit on eBay and when i asked. I have a 2019 Rebel new body style.
I checked mopar parts, and they have different part numbers then mine, but look the same or very similar in the photos. Mught be worth trying to save some serious money. I can't find any aftermarket ones that say they fit the 5th gen body style.
@@jamespenner1412 my 5th gen’s look just like your old mopar ones. And everything came out that same as you said. So I’m assuming it’s all that same.
@MalConsejo9 let me know it all works, id love to know. Thanks!
How much does this cost?
$1000 per bag, plus they would like to replace the pump at the same time. Which is another $2000 Canadian. When i do it, i buy both rear bags for $300 total and a bit of time. It probably takes an hour on each side.
James, I am looking to do this soon just picked up new rear airbags. Question: do you put the truck into exit/extry mode, disable the system and then change out the bags??? I don’t want to lose a ton of nitrogen, just had it refilled and the stealership charged $300 to fill.. trying to avoid that… I can give you my email if you’d like to correspond directly. Any hints you can give me would be greatly appreciated from a retired cop! Thanks!!
If you would put it into entry/exit mode, it would keep more nitrogen in the system, yes. Then i would put it in tire jack mode in the setting like i showed. That way, the pump won't turn on and cycle when you start changing out the bags! The system is not as complicated as they make it out to be. The steps i give you in the video should finish off the process. Be sure once the bags are installed to start the truck and put it in off road 1or 2 and make sure those bags are not inflating crooked like i show in the video. Thats probably the most important step. You want the bags inflating strait up and down.
Thanks!!!
@@missyvanwinkle9159 no problem!!
James another question for you. Since I am putting the vehicle in exit/entry mode when I put on the new air bags should I also compress the new bags since the truck thinks that all the air/nitrogen has been evacuated and once I get the air line on (hopefully iam able to keep the bag compressed) then go into the truck and put it to level 2 and then put the fuse back in and let it do its thing? Just don’t want the control module under the seat going bonkers because there might be latent air in the bags… making any sense??
@missyvanwinkle9159 However, the bags stay while installing them is fine. You dont need to keep them completely compressed, but i think somwhat compressed is the best way to install them. But if not all the way, it should be fine.
Great video, do you install both new rear bags at the same time and then lower the truck down and have both bags re align just fine? I too am worried about exploding bags
My question too
@@dallaswedel315 I actually did just install both at the same time and lowered the truck down and both the bags aligned just fine.
I have a 2013 ram Laramie the back is lifted but the front is really low what can it be
First id check to see if the pump turns on and cycles when you try lifing it to a higher setting. Then id spray soap and water on the front air bag connectors to see if its leaking from a fitting.
Cuz I was driving home from work and the street was uneven and it just went down in the from side but I don’t think the compressor is working properly
@hectorvasquezregino5763 dont forget to check to see if the ride hight sensors by the wheels are mounted not broke off.
Thank u I will try that tomorrow thank u once again
Another thing to check is the leveling sensors I had one that rusted and broke upon visual inspection it looked fine but when i grabbed it it came off in my hand
Thanks for your imput! I have not had that happen yet but that is a great thing to check for also!
Thank you for the great video. I’m having issues and the dealership wants a fortune. It looks like you have a jack stand keeping it at tire hight I’m guessing? Is that right. And the other jack to bring it up and then down on that stand so the spring locks in? Thank you.
Thanks, Im glad it helps someone. Yes, i have a jackstand and a floor jack. That is correct!!
How are the Ebay bags working for you? Any problems since the installation?
Been flawless, hauled a load of cattle last week with the cattle trailer on to get a good workout out of them, i kid u not they look exactly like the mopar ones. Very impressed so far.
I have the same issue with my left rear airbag on my 2017 ram 1500. I have ordered a new airbag from amazon. Just to clarify. Once you pull out the old airbag and replace it do you inflate it before lowering down the truck onto the suspension. I have heard if you don't do the initial inflation properly they explode. I just want to make sure I do this in the right sequence to avoid the explosion issue.
I dont know about any explosion issues. other then if the bag gets inflated and the bag is all crooked in the sleeve like i said in the video, it probably could explode. I would just install it, and with the tire still off, then put down the jack from under the truck and just inspect the air bag while inflating, or after it did inflate. The bag can go all crooked in the outer bag sleeve. Thats probably what they are talking about. Make sure the bag in properly inflated before i would pit on the tire.
thank you, great video and thanks for the advice@@jamespenner1412
@@jonofarrell-bi8ns your very welcome, glad i can help!!
How you put the air back in the system?
@MalConsejo9 you dont, the system pumps it back in. If you watch the video it tells you what to do. The system is not a closed system like they claim. And air in 90 percent nitrogen. You just have to add some air line antifreeze to get rid of moisture in the system. Then your ready to go.
I have a 2015 with air suspension. To make the rear bags last longer, turn off the Aeromode setting under Suspension and don't use the lowest setting to get in and out of your truck. The rear bags, generally, only leak in the lowest setting, by the fold that you showed in the video.
That is correct. I actually have lifting links connected to my ride hight sensors, so it always rides 1.75 inches over stock. And i always put it in off-road 1 when i park it in the garage, and they still only last 5-6 years. But great advice!!
@@jamespenner1412 hey what lifting links do you have and where can I purchase them? Thanks!
@bustos257 i made my own. It was a long time ago, so i dont remember all the part numbers, but now they sell kits on eBay that are essentially the same thing. I just typed in ram 1500 air ride lifting links, and they poped up!
Thank you for the video. So you just install the bag and afterward doesn’t need calibration or refill with nitrogen or anything like that?
You're very welcome!! Yes, just install the bag or bags, and then the truck will do the rest. I always put it in off road 2 after i install bags for the compressor to fill the system up. It doesn't take long.
Thank you for sharing this i plan on doing the same for my 2017 Rebel .
You're very welcome!! It is a very straightforward job!!
Do more videos of the pacifica
Was thinking of doing a video when we got to 100k kms we are at 80 now. Still loving it
@jamespenner1412 I have a 2017 pacifica with fwd but I want awd so bad. I want to do some offloading with my family and tow a boat.
@BigWorm. oh yes the awd system works great, im thinking of getting the 2.75 inch lift you can get for them so we have a bit more ground clearance due to the country roads we drive.

Will do, thanks
Winter tires, then test with and without traction control. Do a decent test.
I just wanted to show the tire spinning and they did, yes will have to do that yet.
You could 8x wheel drive, summer slicks means no trackion. Get some quality winter tires on it and re-shoot...
Yes that's very true, we just got the van so we will have to get some quality rubber, thankyou.
@@jamespenner1412 Glad to see your video, this van, because of the all wheel drive, is on my short list. Looking forward to seeing how you like it...
Wow, I'm bummed it didn't make it up that little hill. Maybe it's cause you're spinning the tires?. I just bought the same model Pacifica. Anyway I'm sure my '04 AWD Grand Caravan would've made it up that hill easily. I've driven it to ski areas (and looked for snowy hills to practice on) every winter for 16 years!
It did make it up one time, but of corse my phone didnt record that one, besides the hill was alot steeper then it looked, and the tires are very poor in the snow, the awd system does very good in the slippery wether.
@@jamespenner1412 - Thanks, yes, I read your description and know that you guys got up the hill once. Another question - I can't tell from the vid, but is that a paved road with snow on it... or is that a gravel / dirt road (basically off-roading?) Because if it's loose dirt and gravel... then you put a few inches of snow on it... that's going to be tough for most awd drive cars. I agree, tires could help in that situation. But with my '04 Dodge awd van - I can drive all over snow covered roads and hills, with bald street tires - the awd drive is that good. I'm careful - and have 40 years practice - but it can be done.
@@gregnw44 its acually a steep grass hill, no gravel, no sand, and not paved, snowy grass is what it is, thankyou for your interest!!!
@@jamespenner1412 - Wow a steep grass hill with some snow on it... that's about as slippery as you could get. It'd be hard to walk up that with boots. Good job making it up there even 1 time. When I get up to our local ski areas, maybe I'll do a little test video. Anyway, thanks for posting this - I appreciate the info !!!
