Here in California 2008 everything was brown. He’s right Tuscany style. Now everything is boxy and white. I am painting houses white on white on white. Feel like I’m at a hospital. Drives me nuts.

Quick tip, I’ve put up plenty of bandit signs on my flips and rentals. It’s super simple, just bring some water with you and pour it where you want to put your sign. It’ll make the ground softer. I do this with my properties in Texas when the dirt is bone dry during the summer.

It'd be worth looking into FDM printers as well. The fumes they put out are a little less toxic, depending on the material you're printing with. They also don't need to be washed and cured the way resin prints do. FDM printers do struggle to produce fine details the way a resin printer can, though. If you're wanting to print models with a lot of small details, then a resin printer would be a better fit. Bambu Labs currently makes the best FDM printers. Their A1, P1S, and X1C are all great printers. Elegoo, Uniformation, and HeyGears all make good resin printers at a variety of price points. FauxHammer, on RUclips, has useful reviews of both FDM and Resin printers, as well as other useful information for successfully running 3D printers.
For basic modeling a resin printer is way overkill, especially if you don’t have someone on your team who already knows all the quirks/dangers associated with them. I strongly recommend any Bambu labs or Prusa printers both are good for beginners and experienced users as well as being reasonably priced. Bambu is your plug it in and boom it’s working option, and Prusa requires more work to get started but will teach you more about printing helping inform your decisions on any upgrades in the future. Resin printers are capable of incredible high definition prints (often used to design jewelry and dental models), but for architectural models you can achieve a more than high enough level of detail with a lot less work/maintenance cost on one of these traditional FDM printers.
Forgot to mention resin printers are usually much slower to print(depending on the specifics of the model) and will often require a few attempts at a print before getting it just right. Also a failed print on an FDM machine is annoying, but a failed attempt on a resin printer can ruin your whole day(unfortunately speaking from experience).
@@Faux03 speed not a big issue for us this it’s more a luxury. Not sure if the high def is needed? The goal is more like overall models
@@AustinFoxArchitect You can get more than enough detail for an architectural model with a good quality FDM printer. SLA aka resin printing is for experts, or specific use cases like highly detailed miniatures, intricate, jewelry, and high accuracy dental models. Unless your clients are looking at your models up close with a macro lens there is no reason to use an SLA printer. It will only add unnecessary and unforeseen complications (including potential serious health risks related to photopolymer resin) with a drastically more difficult maintenance/cleaning process, and at a higher cost no less. If you’re still unsure for some reason, watch a few videos comparing and contrasting the two methods FDM vs SLA aka filament vs resin printing

P1S
@@jeremycatches9766 why that one?
@@AustinFoxArchitect Because your just going to want to upgrade.
Get the elegoo Saturn 4. There's a kit that will come with a wash and cure station. Yes you need them. Yes you should wear gloves. Keep in mind like any new skill or tool you'll need someone to go in depth with and really learn it. Otherwise there are plenty of services that will send you a print that are cheaper than buying, maintaining, and training for a new printer.
@@smotmot how often do I clean it?? I didn’t know they needed to be cleaned like that
@AustinFoxArchitect you clean the printer as needed and between resin swaps but that's not what the wash station is for. Each printed model will need thoroughly washed of excess resin and cured in uv light.
@ noted thank you!

Good day, Sir. My name is Bern Vanger, I'm an undergraduate student of architecture in Nigeria. I've been looking forward to starting a youtube channel to take up my career to the next level and probably start earning a little from it by God's grace. The idea of youtube has been a motive from a few friends and colleagues who have seen my craft worthy of taking on the media, which I've decided to give in. Sir, the idea of youtube is to share and sell your craft and ideas to people and earn from it aswell, but I've been doing some research, and I notice that most youtube content on architecture don't have ads attached, does that mean it is not a good niche that pays off in the end? With regards, Sir.
Start! It’s better now than never

That's true. As an employer, you should take the time to make sure that you find the right people. However, in architecture, there are many principals who would rather have someone that can hit the ground running so that they don't have to spend time to train. But that is not always feasible. To have people to do the job you want and need them to do, some form of training has to be provided. I'm not saying for a long period of time, but something has to be provided. What's in it for the employer? A skilled designer that you molded to which they could potentially take your role, if you desired, and you as the employer could potentially move in the space where it is the reason you become an architect is the first place, which is to design, while letting the person you trained handled the technical aspects of your firms' work. Architects, on a whole, are brilliant people. But they can also be impatient. I get it, time is money, especially if you're a sole proprietor, an LLP or the like. Having the patience to teach will ultimately be a win-win for your firm, for you and the one you train.
Exactly! Systems and good culture are the keys to success
👍💡
Thank you!
If the construction build is actually 3 million, and an architect's cut is roughly 5% - 10% of the construction cost, you had a very nice payday (stretched out through the course of the project, that is). Nice job!
