Here you will get a glimpse of life in the beautiful rolling hills of wild and wonderful West Virginia, USA. Follow me, Jane and my husband of 30 years , Mike , as we live where life is much slower-paced. We aren't fancy folks. We moved from town and built a small cabin with a little help from the amish and a lot of our own blood, sweat, and tears.Its still a work in progress. We just live simply and enjoy nature and family and this beautiful state we get to call home. I like to shop , cook, watercolor paint and spend time in nature and adore my 7 cats.

How long does it take for an onion to grow and be ready to pick?
Well it just depends what kind of onion. I was wanting spring onions but the hubby bought these so I'm picking them small. If planted from small bulbs it's generally 10 - 12 weeks to harvest. I'll leave some in the ground to show how big they get later on.

im wanting to start a garden myself, should i wait until next year to start or would it be okay to start now? where im at it's 90 degrees avg i would say and no sign of rain (i live in zone 7)
I would say go for it. Granted some things take longer to mature like tomatoes can take 85 days but there are plenty of veggies that you can harvest faster.

I don't use onions enough anymore T. They just go bad. You really don't have chopped frozen onions in Canada?
Plus I do have them planted in my garden but they aren't big enough to pull. I am going to freeze them though😂🤣

I want to tell you when you askes me not to turn my flag over, i respected your wwords. Well its been awhile and yesterday i saw my first upside down flag. I went in and talked with the owner why . I left the store and bought a brand new flag and hung it with pride. I was told to take my old flag to a box at walmart. The va's pick the up and have been given a burial plot in town. It is suppose to be a beautiful ceremony. Ill let you know. Thanks again sis!
