The Cortina Mk3 is the best looking car EVER made. All else being equal I'd rather own a fully restored 2l 4door Ghia manual than an e-type or any other car if it had to be my only car. Possibly I'd play around with the specs and underpinning like brakes but I'd keep the look as original as possible. I can prove it too. Somebody offer to give me a cortina and any other car and see which one I pick.

All the prize ones have original steel wheels in proportional size. Not until the MkIV did the Cortina have factory alloys. The Fanta Bottle shape always looks best with a vinyl roof, I reckon.
It looks great, I've been following the build on bsc 😊 it would be great to see a few videos of driving around Malta. One of my favourite places!

@@brianvincentgrech Hi Brian, OH YES!, I do know what you mean, only too well, I booked mine in for paint, & had to do 4 re-books due to delays on jobs "their end", and then when it finally went in the place closed due to the virus shut downs. But it is just another set of countless delays on mine for all sorts of reasons, so she is still in the paint shop, for a few weeks yet, and I had hoped to have engine rebuild done, gearbox done, trim work done, Vinyl roof work sorted, but all that is delayed too!. Frustrating, and makes you feel like giving up, (often) but having spent an estimated £22 Thousand pounds on the car so far, it would be nice to see mine finished, I admire your work ,your commitment, and great quality, which is producing a very superb Cortina Mk.3 , so nice to see someone that loves the cars as much as me, and cares about producing a top class restoration, Excellent work Brian, I LOVE your car!. all the best from Keith.
Fantastic job, but the weather does help doesn’t it. I’ve been to the museum and there’s some great cars in there.
Cars rust here just the same even though it doesnt rain much we have alot of humidity especially at night. Mine was in a terrible state, it took me 5 years to arrive at this stage.tc
Save it and get it back to England.

Hi there! I was sitting outside, looking at my mk3, thinking about when I should start the restoration process and also how since it’ll be my first time. Watching your videos has helped alot, thanks for posting them! I have three questions: How much did you spend so far to get your car in this state; and how much more is estimated? And lastly, where can I find new chrome bits for the doors and especially for the lip on the side of the roof? Thanks in advance and keep up the awesome work!
Hi thanks for feedback i started resto 4 years ago and the cost is way over 7k and need more to finish it off - upholstery and wheels.Just take the plunge and you will get there.thanks for watching
Hi Brian. Love the work you've put into the car and the colour is absolutely stunning. It looks a bit like a darker version of Ford purple velvet which was always my personal favourite. It will look awesome with all the chrome on it. Well done and I'm extremely jealous. Dave l
Thanks David, the colour is similar to Ford Kona Blue and i chose it because it is very dark and as you said will look good with the chrome on.thanks again!

Its fared alot better than the ones in the UK due to a drier climate. Salt and wet weather is a huge killer for cars here.

Yes and no but working on running gear other than bodywork. Next month will hopefully spray paint it.cheers

RM and Baslac clear. In a couple of months car should be all painted.
