My mom used to clean banks for a living. You would be surprised how lax security could be sometimes. One branch I would often give her a hand with the keypad for the alarm was in the break room. The code to shut it off was taped inside a drawer maybe 5-6 feet away from the keypad. Years later I wound up as a tech for a company that did alarms, safes, access control, etc. we were kind of high end though basically banks, DEA/CBP offices, a diamond exchange, and a lot of commercial that had high value assets to protect. We did a very small handful of residential but those were several million dollar homes. People who didn’t think twice about dropping 5-10k on a single camera not including install or the DVR system. Those types. But yeah it’s crazy how casual people treat security sometimes one time I had to work on an access control panel inside a covert DEA office. I go into the utility room and that was their makeshift weapons closet. Probably a dozen full auto rifles and submachine guns just laying up against the wall unprotected. Honestly that roof above the utility room could have probably been breached by a sawzall.

Even long time home owners would have to think twice about moving to a different house. If my house is paid off, why would I buy a home at a higher price? Just to pay more in property taxes and insurance? It would likely to be in a different state to avoid this.

Actually don’t need to go on a waiting list though it’s not a cheap stay. Just spent two nights here and it’s definitely worth the splurge. Been to 5 of the US 3 Michelin star restaurants and this is up there with the French Laundry.
