Good Morning , being a varied size pipe installer and promote the use of coil trailers on a large number of projects, there are still companies out there using a digger and strop. I found this production of interest and was looking for additonal safety requirements for the use of the coil trailers with regards to the issuing of RISK ASSESSMENTS and METHOD STATEMENTS. Although Exclusion zones have always been part of our RAMS with operative only approaching the coil trailers once the pulling operation has halted whilst straps are cut, has there been any further developments or recommendations. joe smith - Pipeline Test / Purge and Installation.

I am sorry for my ignorance, but are you planing to produce Green Hydrogen, or are you simply using Oil or Gas to produce your Hydrogen? I understand that 97% of Hydrogen produced today is not Green Hydrogen, so to claim that this is a Net Zero project is taking people for fools and a dishonest project in my view; we may as well continue using gas, unless this is a hydrolysis generated hydrogen we are all wasting our time here. Thank you.

Over 1.2 million gallons leak out the colonial pipeline and 2 teenagers on atv found the leak... where was this high tech system at?

The EU is planning to spend trillion on this in the upcoming decades...shame that Scotland is not part of the EU and can't use EU's grant money for projects anylonger. This is exciting times for hydrogen industry,..using gas grid infrastructure to store and transport hydrogen is a BINGO! It will only depend on how fast the government is in implementing the neccessary steps (subsities/laws/carbon tax,etc) - let's hope that they're better at this than they were with the electric cars...there's still not enough infrastructure for them even in cities like Edinburgh. This needs a proper push, it's literally a war on extinction and attention+resources should be dedicated to this appropriately to the mammoth size of the task. It should be literaly the number one priority, together with industry 4.0 (5G networks) and space ports (the US will soon start flying intercontinental orbital space flights with 30 minute flight times to destinations anywhere on the planet...if these have a spaceport that is.) Scotland should make the leap, invest full throttle into this - it is now clear that the whole world is headed towards these technological developments. To lead the 4th industrial revolution would transform Scotland into a super wealthy high-tech country leading the world, attracting talent and promoting GDP and living standards paralleled probably only by the boom of the 1st industrial revolution (iron, ships, coal). I just need to look for ways to be a part of all this :/

Pipelines for hydrogen are not necessary. Hydrogen however is the future of home heating, electricity production, portable energy and all forms of transportation!

Interesting concept but if moving to be totally carbon free and 100% hydrogen for heating, how do you intend to address the issue that hydrogen has less than a third the calorific value by volume than that of natural gas? This would suggest the entire network from start to the appliance would effectively become vastly undersized. I can see that reinforcement of the NTS and LTS is a viable (albeit costly) solution for those parts of the network but substantially increasing the capacity of distribution networks, service pipes and domestic pipe work would be difficult to imagine. Significantly increasing pressures on the network to meet the gap would not be an option, especially with the increased limits of flammability and the potential safety risk due to the vastly increased flame speed of hydrogen compared with natural gas.

I hope it blows up in the developers face. Completely unnecessary to continue to transport gas, oil or anything flammable across an non-environmentally friendly pipeline that goes through perhaps tribal lands and perhaps leaks.
