How to prone and unprone a patient

It would be expected all staff would be in Full PPE for this manoeuvre - we were conserving resources. Based on the guidance from ICS. Wanted to show that it's always a bit untidy! www.ics.ac.uk/ICS/ICS/Pdfs/Prone_Position_Guidance_in_Adult_Critical_Care.aspx

COVID Ventilation

I use PRVC as a suggested ventilation mode. Perhaps PRVC SIMV mode would be better - would allow the patient to breathe if needed.

You will need to wear gloves and plastic apron over this for performing further patient care. The PPE is your 'base layer'

The quick reference guide for the servo-i is really useful to look at and gives you a visual guide to the modes on the vent - monetmedical.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/Siemens-Servo-I-Quick-Reference.pdf
Sorry, this CPR simulation lacks something. Nowadays, hospitals use Proning already. Doctors and nurses tend to turn CoVid-19 patient over to prone position. If Prone Ventilated CoVid Patient becomes Asystolic (or suffers cardiac arrest), will Prone CPR be administered to them?
Is there a risk of transmitting infection to the trolley without a sterile field in place for equipment after contact with the patient?
good work ASD, good work indeed
What’s the thinking behind the nasal cannulae if you are switching straight from a non rebreathe mask to 100% O2 via a waters circuit?
It allows for apnoeic oxygenation when performing intubation attempts. Evidence not solid, but probably doesn't slow you down and doesn't hurt. emcrit.org/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/Preox-annals-article.pdf
Ah I see. The only concern might be aerosolising the virus in the same way nasal high flow does? But I can see that these would obviously be patients at high risk or desaturation during laryngoscopy so apnoeic oxygenation is clearly desirable.
