In this episode we detail the legendary Lotus Esprit Turbo. The car has previously received a full respray but many defects remained which we were commissioned to remove and prepare it for the many car shows it will be attending.

Great colour scheme Calypso Blue and Magnolia leather, awesome car!
I have blue velvet. It's an amazing wax. Used in on my BMW E30 M3,E36 M3 and E46 M3. Always a pleasure to keep it clean
Great stuff isn’t it!
Great video, nice work on the iconic cossie. Now subscribed to your channel.
Thank you for your kind words 🙌🏻
💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
Would this also protect me from car accidents?
Yes. Go had them coating then try for yourself.
It’s good, but not that good. If you want damage protection you need paint protection film (PPF), which we also do.
After it rains is it normal to have the water beads just sit there. My truck is coated and beads water great but my girlfriends car with no protection will be dry in the morning and mine will have like a thousand perfect lil water beads just sitting on the hood.
Yes that sounds normal, typically on cars the water will run off but on large horizontal panels like on trucks the water may sit there
But that create water spots , Why? , I feel ceramic coating is not good
Is this the same as ceramic coating spray wax?
No, a spray ceramic/wax is a diluted version of a full ceramic coating that I used here
That’s a terrible paint job! You really need someone with fiberglass experience when painting these Lotus’. A cheap job always shows! Always!
I’ve seen a lot worse so this was okay in the grand scheme of things
Cracking wax
Smells great too 👌🏻
How is the ceramic coting flattened?
I’m not sure what you mean?
Beautiful work!
Thank you very much. Do you have a favourite part?
Can't watch these things with that stupid childish music,I wish u-tubers would pack it in. Pinky n perky died many years ago. Ffs
Simple solution, don’t watch the video and stop being grumpy lol
Looks really good. How much do you think the re -spray costs approximately?
Thanks! I wouldn’t have any idea to be honest, couldn’t even give you a ball park figure!
Now show the drying the best part.
I agree the drying is fun!
I got this done but the water spots just sit in top now making it harder for me to clean what else am i suppose to do?
Water marks will usually only appear if tap water is used, rain water is typically very low ppm, meaning there is no minerals in the water. It is the minerals that cause the water spot when the water has dried. 2 easy solutions - 1. ensure you dry your car thoroughly after washing. 2. Use a water filter to reduce the ppm of your tap water.
@@Velocity_Car_Detailing thanks for the reply I appreciate it. I got it wrong I meant the water drops just stay sitting on my car I don't get any water spots but I thought they would just roll off or do I still need to wax the car?
Oh I see. The water won’t always fully disperse off the panel and leave it bone dry. You shouldn’t wax a ceramic coated car. You could use a ceramic detailer following washing the car, this will help to provide some extra slickness. Hope that helps
How much time was left between the respray and yourself applying ceramic coating. I Just had mine resprayed and collected recently and looking to ceramic coating.
It was probably a couple of months. The owner hadn’t planned to get it coated but after doing one of his other cars he saw the benefit. You’ll be safe to have it coated after a few weeks. What car is it?
Lotus Esprit, slightly modified from the one on this video with a colourshift paint. I'm in the process of uploading videos of the project which is now almost complete.
Awesome! Well if you’d like some assistance with removing the defects before a ceramic coating let me know. I’m based in East Mids.
That looks great.
Thank you 😃
stunning. great work.
Thanks!
Great video , Keep livin la vida Dodo!
Always!
Great Video.
Thanks!
Just wax it every 3 months
Or ceramic coat it once and save yourself hours of waxing. Plus the protection is much better than waxing if you use the correct one
First
Probably the last 😂
after installed coating, how long can last ?
This depends on the coating applied, usually between 2-5 years
You showed you licence plate
License plates aren’t private.
What ceramic you used? Nice before & After for sure
Thank you! This coating was Carpro Cquartz 3.0
Some classic sash, nalin &kane ❤great music
Glad you appreciate the tunes ❤️
@@Velocity_Car_Detailing also a fantastic job done on that beauty. My friend does derailing also. The before and after is like night and day.
@@stewarty28 thanks mate 🤜🏻
Lovely job on the Cossie. The paint really pops now. Great attention to detail. I'd say that's another happy customer.
Thanks for the comments. Yes he was very happy 😃
what would something like this cost? i have the exact same car
Thanks for your comment Steve. It really depends on the condition of your car. Feel free to give me a call and I can talk you through it - 07530584839. John
I feel like I should’ve double dropped before watching this 🤪
I felt like I should have while detailing it, might have got very different results though 😂
What equipment what products. Time scale. Lazy content at the minute bro.
Not everyone wants to know all that kind of stuff. If people want to know, they usually ask
Your really not very bright are you ?
@@badgersalesman5595 excuse me?
Top quality work bro 👌
@@kiltilly thank you dude
Turn the crap music down and speak up. Other than that nice job
I will admit the levels are a bit all over the place on this video, at this point I didn’t have a mic and only use royalty free music so the choice isn’t great. Also the editing software is pretty basic. Will be trying to fix these on future vids
Nice work 👍
Thank you very much 😃
10. Punto
Thank you 😃
If the water sheets off, there’s no water spots. If you use something that causes water to bead, then you better get that vehicle dry as fast as you can. Rain-X car wash solution will make the water sheet off. Wash it and walk away. No need to dry it.
If you use DI water then you don’t need to worry about water spots 😉
@@Velocity_Car_DetailingInteresting. Never heard of that. What system of DI do you use?
You can use a DI/pure water vessel. The water passes through the filter media and removes the minerals to give you <5ppm. This way you can wash a car in any weather and not worry about leaving water spots. Like you say, you could do the final rinse and just walk away! Not that I would, I always ensure the car is fully dried off before I present it to the client.
@@Velocity_Car_Detailingthanks for educating me. I’m now less ignorant than I was lol. Seriously, I appreciate it!
Nice cozzeh 👌
Certainly was 😃
Cracking job done playlist not too shabby either #90'sclassics
Thanks, glad you appreciate the music choices 😃
Now it's not a TRANSPORTER, it's A a TRANSFOMER 😳
Eraser wheels on a drill works really well to get the adhesive off
They do but they cause damage to the paint which I would then need to polish so I find this way is the best to avoid damaging the paint
what do you use to clean the steering wheel?
I use a combination of an all purpose cleaner, steam and something called a scrubber dubber
Nice work, everyone has their own process when cleaning and decontaminating a car so it's each to their own really, as long as the customer is happy that is all that matters at the end of the day. Loved the trance tunes in the background, took me right back, what playlist or CD was that out of curiosity? Look forward to the next video.
Thanks Aaron. I agree mate 👍🏻 playlist is a personal Spotify one
Customer was/is very happy. 👍
Stunning 😍 iconic car. Love to see you do a RS500 Cosworth.
Me too! Happen to know anyone with one?? 😂

@@Adam151082 get in touch, I’m sure I can put together an offer for you 😉
Great work, good content, but the difference in volume to your voice let's it down, have a listen, such loud music, WHY.
Thanks for the comments, I’ll bare this in mind for future videos. I currently use very basic editing software so it’s more difficult to manage but I’ll try to improve that 👍🏻
😅😅😅😅😅
i couldn’t hear what was in that last spray bottle?:) cool video 😊
Thanks! It could be the water spot remover, this removes the mineral build up that caused the ghosting
Looks no better than my own car 🚘 that I do myself 😳
You must be good then 👍🏻
I am 👍🏻
Why don’t you do your own videos for other keyboard warriors to bash then.
Got to ask why you didn’t wash the door/ boot shuts & engine bay as part of the decon wash🤔 No wheels off wash either….🤔🙄 Detailer….😂😂😂😂
I find I get better results in the shuts when I steam them and I don’t like using my steamer outside exposed to the elements and water. Engine bay wasn’t dirty so didn’t need a deep clean, plus there is lots of exposed electrics which I don’t want to get wet, so steaming is the safest option. No wheels off wash - correct. Why take the wheels off when you don’t need to, they were only getting cleaned, not coated 👍🏻
@@Velocity_Car_Detailing glad you don’t get to clean any of my collection then! Use a steam pressure wash like I do to clean door/boot shuts etc…. Yeah fords have shit electrics so get the hand held steamer for that! Each to there own when cleaning I guess🤔 But once a month I whip the wheels off, clean & re-coat….. makes life so much easier 👌
sounds like you know best 👍🏻 I don’t have a steam pressure washer so that’s not an option. This car isn’t a regular customer, only a one off so I do what is agreed with my client and what they pay for.
Slappin window wipers?😢££££
?
Great video. Amazing car and quality wax. How long did you leave it to cure before buffing it off?
Thank you! Yes I always find their waxes a pleasure to use. The hazing time can differ depending on the temperature, but on this instance it was around 5 mins
Sorry but I don't see the difference
Look at the water when it hits the bonnet. Before the coating the water sticks to the bonnet, whereas after the coating the water is repelled immediately. This hydrophobic effect helps to keep the car cleaner for longer and makes it much easier to maintain
Extremely beautiful car
It sure is!
