Update on my turbo Chrysler Town & Country 3.8
Just a quick update and a quick look on what I did to turbocharg it. Haven't done much to it with moving and with everything going on. The crank harmonic balancer was notched on a endmill with a slight radius corner endmill bit. There's a layout on megasquirts web about the notches on the gm v6 crank. 60 degrees all 6 cylinders and one 10 degree notch from tdc. Used a dial depth guage to bring #1 cylinder to tdc and set the harmonic balancer for cylinder 1 tdc. Used a wendge on cranck to lock it and used impact to set harmonic till it seated. Didn't quite give up on it. Using a $10 junkyard Satellite SiriusXM module from 2007 ford fusion and pigtail harness. Aux line in connector and radio end pigtail harness from another 2007. Wish I found both in the same vehicle. Will work for base radios from 2005 like f150 or mustang if it never had a working aux or a failed AUX and don't use XM anymore. Working on turbocharging the minivan. Making sure it would run on the custom ignition, ecm setup from a gm obd1 '727 8f turbo grand prix code before going all out on the setup. 1999 Chrysler town and country awd 41ae. Dodge caravan Es a/s tcms are hard to come by and you need the bastard switch to go with it. I don't use cruise control and have a aftermarket radio. Old steering radio buttons were broken anyway. Stick with 97-98 tcms.

Ecotec 2.4l timing chain defect

I've come across plenty of these ecotec engines with faulty timing sets. You'll notice consuming oil before your next oil change and a check engine light. a chain noise on start up. Terrain Equinox
I dont know about his car, but my car has a factory installed aux port in the compartment under the arm rest

This is not an easy fix. My 2.4 ecotec has 120k miles. I change my oil every 4k
The plastic guide on the intake side goes before the top one.
Said there's only 3 Sats, well that's so you can program 6 presets each for a total of 18. There's 2 FM's as well so you program 6 presets for each. Also saw it said "ANTENNA FAIL" so guessing you don't have a satellite radio antenna hooked in?
That's correct, was just using module to get it work in aux mode. Should have just used a newer factory radio. Upgraded to a touch screen in it before sending it to another owner.

s there a way to adjust the timing without marks? I took the chain out and my stupidity allowed me to turn the the sprocket s individually, which turned the cams. Now I have no idea where I am at. Call me an idiot because I am. 2015 Chev malibu 2.5
I'm sorry to say but you have a high probability of bending the valves already. You would have to pull the cams off and move the engine to top dead center then install the cams back on according to the engine manual and install the chain accordingly. And hope all the pistons were down when you turned the cams. Sorry there's no fast fix for this.

ruclips.net/video/PdwOL-EIUBc/видео.html Looking at this video it's close to timing. The cam sprockets have some spring and play so cams might not be perfect as long as cam and crank marks are aligned with chain marks you should be ok. But you have to put it back together and see how it runs.

Useless to me.
Wrong tool for that job. All electric ratchets are for light duty general use. Get you a 1/2 impact for lug nuts.
It was a means to test the working torque without building a jig and buying hardware. I concur as I have been in the technical industry for many decades and am very aware of tool usage. Cheers.

I saw a post from someone who said when you are pillaging the input jacks you should get the stereo too. The input jacks will not communicate to yours if your vehicle didn’t come with the option. Even if you have the aux option on the stereo. It still will not work. Stereo flash may work I’m not familiar with that. Hope this helps

I got the satellite radio module and used the audio input from the satellite radio and was able to get the input to work in satellite radio mode.

On this unit yes also the vvt solenoids and the oil pump. There was too much metal.

We got a 11 equinox at our shop with a 2.4 needs new exhaust and intake cams all rockers broke due to timing
I have the same radio and I was messing with my bass and it now will not turn up but it will turn down, I also tried using seek and that didnt work. Also the treble is having the same issue
I own a 2008 Pontiac G6 with this 2.4 engine. What a piece of junk it is. I'm still finding crap in the oil pan 25k miles later after having the timing chain replaced. It'll be the last GM vehicle I ever buy. They just don't last 400,000 miles like they used to back in the 90's and early 2000's.

I mean, GMC has really gone down hill. All those old Ford jokes (fix-or-repair-daily) really don't apply anymore. I put Chevy and Dodge as the 2 worse car companies with a big presence in the U.S. I honestly think I would buy the average Kia over the average Chevy now. Oh well, I'll get in my Toyota 4Runner and be on my way.

Lol , it was my buddies. I've since bought a AC Delco 12v ratchet set 1/4, 3/8. Can't complaint. Also bought an 3/8 Kobalt 24v angle impact . Since already had the drill and 3/8 impact wrench.

U need that radio signal in order to get your satellite radio to work
I figured it out on another video I made. For all the trouble, I think I'd snag a premium radio from the junkyard if I'd do it again or spend $50 on a eBay special touch screen radio.
They sell cordless impact wrench. For an example Milwaukee. Has more torque than the cordless ratchet
I got the hyper tough one because my dewalt got stolen and it was a cheap and readily available replacement, and it was the best $40 I’ve ever spent. It’s one of my favorite tools in the box, minus my husky electric ratchet
Bought an Kobalt 24v 3/8 angle impact, had the drill and 3/8 impact wrench already. Had also bought an AC delco 12v ratchet set. Gave the Husky to my dad and probably will give him the ac delcos too. Getting the kobalt cordless ratchet too keep the same battery line.
Does this affect the 2009 2.4 ecotec? I have 214k miles on my Malibu not a single problem.

I'm sure there's someone that's done something similar to a Chrysler 200 since they share the exact drivetrains. 3.6l with the 62te. Maybe a company that turbocharged the Chrysler 300 or Jeep Wrangler a with the 3.6 might be able to get you pointed in the right direction.

I have a 07 Ford Fusion and the plug in for the aux cord is in the middle Consol next to the charger outlet.
Unfortunately 2006 never got that plug.

Pretty simple, when you don't have any compression. You would need a compression guage to check each cylinder
What years 2.4 are bad? I just bought a 2007 Solstice manual with 51,000 miles...runs smooth and quiet so far......
Direct injection ones. 2010 up. Crank case ventilation on those cause all the problems.
I have the 07 Harley F-150 and its the premium audiophile system and the line in does not work. It jus shows sat 1 2 and 3 with a 183 number above when the aux cable is plugged in with a old ipod touch i have. I also tried my iphone but same thing

Yes. I made another video. I needed the SAT radio module. Only way it would work. I got it at a junk yard for a few bucks. eBay and after market sells adapter so you can use it also. You could also just upgrade radio to a premium model one or after market unit.

A year later I'm commenting to say you probably have a few thousand extra dollars by not buying a malibu.
