Thanks for this. Really helped. Did it today and all is working fine. Worth adding though you can save even more money by just replacing that rubber end cap. You can get 5 off eBay for £5 rather than but the whole plastic peice off Triton which is just 2 rubber caps plus the plastic bit which usually does not need to be replaced. 👍👍

Black Diamond is now trash. I had two Spots go faulty within a few months each time. The build quality is trash. They are one of those companies that USED to make good stuff, but thought they could cash in by trading off their reputation but massively slashing build quality. Look for the bad reviews based on product failure and you will easily find them. AVOID.

I bought the same oex lighter and it didn’t work on my windburner either. I bought a flint and steel lighter too. That works fine and nothing to go wrong. Thanks for the reset tip. Was sure I’d done something stupid and broken it. ❤

Electric pizeo igniters do not work with windburners do to the defuser use fire steel or lighter or match fire steel Is best machetes gets wet they useless if lighter is empty or cold don't work were a fire steel will even if wet

Better to use a glass fibre pen not emery paper for cleaning contacts.

A nervous 10 minutes taking things apart, but a bit of wet and dry that just scuffed the contacts up a little bit (they were both very dirty), then cleaned them with WD40 contact cleaner and a cotton bud and all's good, turned on first time, much to my relief! Many thanks for the tutorial.

i had the same problem with mine...exchanged it for another and that didn't work either. everything i have had from OEX i have had problems with including a sleeping bag that the inner ripped on the first night iu used it that wasn't under any undue pressure...buy cheap buy twice !

Mine, too. Am going to find some velcro to replace the broken battery latch. There was no reason for them to make it extremely tight to close and release. This is why this model is like that.
