Hello, i am trying to find a not so expensive solution, and then i see your video, i just need to record the screen, during the record session, the user doesn't see the trace, but on the recording, i see the trace, your short tutorial does this right?
Yep pretty much. The tester just sees the normal screen and in the OBS program the gaze of the tester is on another layer on top of the screen feed, and this is saved out to a video file recording you can playback later. You need to use OBS Studio though to record the gaze circle..

Hi, thank you for sharing. I made it work on my desktop, but I cannot show the gaze in OBS while the Tobii ghost preview is off. Is it not meant to work on a laptop?
I haven't used the tobii for about a year but from what I remember it is possible. In OBS it is not enough with just having a screen capture element, you also need a game capture item that captures the Tobii screen. Also make sure that it is layered correctly, so it not underneath the screen capture but on top. The details around this is around 1:08 in the video.

can i use this for data collection for a research, how accurate would you say it is ?
Hi! Tobii provides SDKs for game engines, so if you use a game engine for your research you can get concrete eye tracking data. But I don't know how this works outside of that on a regular desktop. You'll probably only have the video recording with the overlay but I am not 100% informed on that. developer.tobii.com/pc-gaming/unity-sdk/getting-started/#step-4-get-to-know-the-api-and-the-eye-gaze-data

Hi! 1. Never tried doing this, but I can check this for you in the coming week. 2. This metod just leaves you with the screen capture recording. It does not save frame-by-frame location data etc of where the gaze point were in any text form, etc. 3. Sorry, no idea. I went with this device so I don't have to bother with complicated licensing etc.

@@ui-review Hi,,, wanna ask you again after six month haha,,, I just got mine, tobii eye tracker 5, but mine cannot show up "the gaze" in the Game Capture,, only show up in window capture but not allow transparency,, any setting so it will show in the game capture? thanks
@@SuryoHady Hello :). Well the basic setup is to have the screen be displayed with a Display Capture source item and then use a Game Capture source for the Tobii Ghost window by selecting Capture Specific Window under Mode. In the Game Capture item for the Tobii there will be a Allow Transparency flag that must be set to checked. Then the next thing would be to make sure that the Tobii window capture is placed above the Display Capture window in the Source stack by being on top of it. Then maybe also make sure they are fitted properly by selecting them individually in the source panel and press CTRL+F to auto-fit them to the capture frame. Is it not possible to check/unckeck the allow transparency flag in the Game Capture?
