🇲🇦 Bird photography in extreme heat - Marrakesh, Morocco 🇲🇦
I spent a few days of my holiday last summer in Marrakech. Weather was blazing hot, with temperatures ranging from 40°C-45°C. I got so lucky, that I got to stay at a place where the residents have been feeding the local birds and thus I got a few nice shots of some first timers, right on my doorstep.

I ordered the Godox Movelink II M2 microphone kit to see if they are on par with the Rode microphones. For now, I`ve only done the unboxing, but hopefully will get to test them soon in the field too.

I was on "holiday" at home, back in July and spent my time on exploring the local bird species. Have seen quite a few, amazing-to-finally see species. Bird photography near Casablanca, Morocco (part 1)
I went with the metz its awesome looks a small bag but the amount of stuff and different pockets it has you can store plenty of stuff in there perfect for a city break 👌
Thank you for the video, very useful 👍
Even long haul same just 1 bag carry on 7kg etc unless you pay more. Am so confused as need to take 30 l.plus personal item for meds longterm...
Lovely video. Beautiful bird pics. May I ask you show each photo for a little longer (2 or 3 seconds)? I can barely pause the video video in time. (also keep the names at the top as they are blocked by the red bar when you pause). Many thanks!
Thank you Norman for this video! Can you put the Metz on top of a luggage? Does it have a strap for that? I didn't see the back of it properly!
Hi Norman, which one would fit a 14" laptop better, in your opinion, please?
Great video thanks your English is very good 👍 😀
Before Covid, the conductors taking the old penny and issuing tickets. All part of the experience, spoilt by the virus. But still a nice place to visit.
Are there actually any birds on Fuerteventura??????
Had you watched the videos, you wouldn't have asked this question😅 I didn't even manage to photograph all the resident species, plus there are beautiful migrants.
This was stickers or magnets? 3:02

Thank you for taking the time to make this. Very informative.
Thank you!
Great comparison, thanks for doing this - it has made me decide to go for the Metz
Thank you, glad it helped!
Very helpful video as I'm thinking about buying Metz 20L, thank you.
I'm glad it helped !
Good lad, thanks for making this
My pleasure
Good Video, please look for Birding spots and migration points. All the best Cheers!
Thanks!
Great job 👍
Thank you !
With eurowings 'basic' you can only bring a 40x30x25cm bag. I can't find that exact dimension online so this Metz 20L bag should do the job. Wonder how many days I can pack with it tho..
I bought it for a max. of 3-night/4-day trip; but that only summer time, when you don`t need many clothes.
Enormously helpful, thank you. So I'm hoping, after four months, you might be able to advise on the durability and quality. Not sure the zips look that strong? I'm planning of travelling around south east Asia later in the year for several months with only one bag. One of the reasons I was attracted to this brand is that they claim they only weigh 0.7kg. Did they impress you with their lightness? I'm wondering if I focus too much on lightness I might end up having to buy a replacement while I'm away? Would really welcome your advice.
I`m glad I helped! Interesting question, I ddin`t actually weigh them (will keep this in mind though if I do any more comparisons in the future). I won`t be able to advise much on durability (quality seems pretty good though), as I haven`t really travelled since I bought it (well, I only travelled once, but had to take a checked bag along), but I will surely give an update when/if/after I used it 🙂
I see you chose the grey one, but I wonder if you might have tried a carabiner clip to attach a water bottle to the one without the holder/pocket? Anyway, thanks for the review! 😎
You're welcome🙂 the reason, why I rejected that idea from the start is that the bottle would have been hanging around and slapping on and off the backpack-which would have been really annoying, especially during long walks
@@normanzjames oh yes! That would be annoying for sure, makes perfect sense. 👍🏻 I’ve always wondered how practical those loops for hanging things with carabiners actually are. I like stuff contained too so have not used them either. Cheers and thanks for responding! 😎
I bought the Metz back in March. I' ve been to a 3 days trip with ryanair in may, this month i travelled with wizzair and volotea for 9 days (here i packed for 5 days, and i washed my clothes once, ) I compressed my clothes in two big cosmetic bags - i used them as two packing cubes. My only electronic devices were: phone, charger, power bank, cable for the power bank. No laptop. On my shorter trip i could fit a 750 ml water bottle and extra food too (i have special dietary needs unfortunately) . For the longer trip i added an extension to the backpack, a tactical water botter holder, that can be dettached, so i could utilize all internal space. (No airlines complained about that) So i think you can definitely pack for 5+ days, if you are a short person with not too big clothes. I saw in a youtube review of a German guy, that for him the Manhattan seemed bigger. He packed a laptop + clothes+ a book. He said that the disadvantage of the metz is that it is difficult to fill the space under the zipper section. In the metz the zipper does not run all around the sides, but it starts about 5 CMs from the bottom. That 5 cm section is difficult to fill, and you might lose some space there. (I can confirm this, after inserting my packing cubes, i needed to fill the gaps in that area with other items i carried.. I bought the Metz because of the bigger front compartment. I usually carry multiple tiny stuff that I need quick access to (tissue paper, female hygine products, lipbalm, medicine, chewing gum, snacks, whatever tiny stuff i would put in a handbag... ), so for me it looked more practical that i don't have to open the big compartment evertime i needed something, but I had my tiny stuff separated in the small compartment. However, i have to say that with a laptop and camera gear probably the Manhattan is better. I am still considering buying the Manhattan as well. I just don't know if it is worth it..
Hi, what brand or model is the tactical bottle holder that you bought? Regards.
@@ricardoblanco77 i ordered from ali express, CS Force Official store, upgraded tactical molle water bottle pouche - and i am not using the ring with carabiner to fix it to the bag, but it has a velcro on it's side with a big press stud, so i just attach the pouch with that to a side strap of the backpack. I travelled on 10 flights so far, ryanair, volotea, wizzair, airfrance, no complain about the attached water bottle pouch so far. Sorry for grammar mistakes, i am not a native speaker.
The airlines are putting pressure on those who need to take meds stock or have dietary needs which is definitely discrimination in my opinion. It s getting ridiculous...
Thank you for the video. Do you think these bags are of good quality? Do you think they can withstand several city-trips if they are well loaded? What advice do you have for not keeping them as long as possible? Thanks :)
Really good question! Although, I won't be able to make a judgement, until I had a few trips with them.
thank you so much man!!! this is exactly what i was looking for! it really helped me a great deal! ps; i went with the Metz
I`m really glad it helped!
Thanks you! It helps me a lot to decide which buy
I'm glad to hear that!
So which was your favourite... 🤔 Am about to buy one of the 2
I picked the Manhattan, solely because of the side pocket
You can see over 60 species here. Nice video and keep it up
Thanks very much, I will try to spend more time and explore more on my next visit!
