Interesting story about Steve Jobs. Throughout history the problem of suffering has been a significant hurdle for theists. They come up with rationalizations and excuses that focus on man and direct any responsibility away from God. Theists do this because they can't bear their God being anything but an image of perfection. But for many skeptics it never satisfies, not when Christians are positing an all powerful, loving, omni-benevolent god. Realize also that Jobs as an adult realized more sophisticated reasons for not believing in the Christian god but this story was just his starting point.
