Yes - Insta 360 x3

That was a thoroughly enjoyable watch, mate. The pain, but appreciation showed on the entire trip. Well done on completing it. I keep meaning to take a week out to ride it, but in the opposite direction. Gonna have to stop making excuses & just do it. Thx for sharing the journey👍
Your very welcome, glad you enjoyed it :) Go for it Dug, While you still can!
Enjoyed that
Brilliant video. Did you find enough places to get drinking water over the entire trip?
Thank you G. My support met me once a day and I filled up with 2 litres and that was enough. Had I walked into the various towns along the route I feel it could have been done without the support, but it would have then added on a few extra miles.
There are taps along the Ridgeway, so definitely worth doing research on the locations
I've really enjoyed this series of vids John. A great adventure, and a heck of an achievement, thoughtfully and honestly narrated and filmed. Thank you! And very well done. We have some kit in common - I'm a big fan of the Ionosphere tent and I too think Helinox chairs are worth their weight! I find the ear plugs thing really interesting - as much as noises can spook me out when alone camping, the thought of blocking all noise out fills me with infinitely more dread! If there is a killer clown, a rabid badger, or a handy Glaswegian outside my tent, I want to know about it as soon as possible! Just like I wouldn't want to be in a haunted house blindfolded - I'd rather see what's going on! 😅I can't help wonder whether the fact that you find them useful tells you straight away that you know the 'threat' is purely imagined - I wonder if eventually you'll be able to embrace the odd sounds you get whilst camping out like this. It took me a while, but I'm less jumpy now. I realise now that my snoring must scare everything off in a 3 mile radius, animal or human 😉. One question if I may (and please don't take this the wrong way, I'm genuinely curious...) Seeing as your very kind and supportive partner was dropping off essentials at certain points at the end of certain days, were you not tempted to let her bring all the tent/camping stuff too, and make your pack all the more light for walking? I'm just curious where you draw the line between 'cheating' and 'not cheating' on a trek like this? Thanks again, and I look forward to future adventures. A sub here - cheers! Rich 👍
Thank you for your kind words Rich. Yes those chairs are amazing. I know 100% that its all in my mind :) but that didnt make it any easier. It is uncanny how a small breeze blowing the fly sheet sounds like an escaped psychopath creeping through the grass.. It is interesting how the "ignorance is bliss" rule really worked in this context. Thats a good question. I was not tempted no, and yes I did feel in some small way that I cheated a little. A big part was also her bringing battery packs so I could recharge the phone and 360 cam, as I wanted to document this for a future me when im old! This was my first attempt at anything like this so I was also playing it a little safe. If I was to do this again (and I will in reverse at some point) I will take my time and enjoy the experience more being self-sufficient without the support as I know now that it would be possible. Albeit taking my time and not "rushing" to the finish. - Hadrians wall walk is the next one - fingers crossed for late spring!
Absolutely gorgeous upload my friend.
Thank you kindly
Hi John, great videos, how much did your pack way? Looking forward to the next chapter :)
