Hi, I am Koway, and one day I might become a game composer.

For me this song is kinda mid, but I figure some of u guys might like it. The song was made for a project in my uni course, spent around 2-3 days? What do you use for the audio visualizer?
It's from a native plugin for FLstudio called ZGameEditor Visualizer, if you don't have FL tho you can try Adobe After Effect or Davinci Resolve which I both used before!

I think the second chord progression at 1:07 works well because the two chords (Ab and F) have a chromatic mediant relationship to one another, not because you are moving along the circle of fiths or whatever that graphic is supposed to suggest.
I see, I agree it can be explain by chromatic mediant, but what I think about it is that, in this case (or in general) the chromatic mediant relation ship works well is because the new introduced note (A) belongs to a scale close to the original scale on the circle of fifth. Also, I believe thinking in scales can make it easier to come up melodies which works really well for me personally . BUT! I don’t have a music degree so I’m not claiming I know better.

how did you learn to create melodies like this? have you been studying music since u were a kid or did you watch RUclips vids or something?
I think I learned most of my creation skills by listening to music a lot and also having a habit to listen multiple layers of instruments at the same time! I was never properly classically trained (but did learn a little piano when young) and didn't attend music schools. So I bought books to self taught + youtube vids + some small in person courses. Also, when I was creating this song I listened to Assassin Creed Syndicate OST repeatedly~

You know the start kinda reminds me of the Violin Fencer. Not accusing anyone of copying or anything, it is still unique enough that I doubt that is what happened, just me being amused at further evidence in support of convergent design. Music sounds good and lots of people make lots of music, so of course eventually some music will sound similar if the two creators are trying to get similar results, even without any interaction between them.

Pretty good for a demo, nice job you got there! Maybe you could sprinkle some soft instruments here an there and it would sound less "hard", just a thought. Idk, I'm not a musician anyways.
