You probably came here because of the KCTU dancers - a microcosmic phenomenon created during a summer television special in Wichita, KS in 2014 by an 18 year old (yours truly). The dancers were part of "The Low Budget Late Show," a half-hour program that actually aired on Sunday afternoons. The budget for the show was $20. (It brought in $200 in revenue but I never saw the 10%. Oh well.)
Anyway, there are many other low-budget television goodies here. All made in a building that has now returned to it's original intent as a carpet store.

Inside the KCTU Control Room

Here's the old control room during a production of "Your Hour" in 2014 when KCTU-TV 43 was located at 2100 E. Douglas in Wichita, KS. This is where The Low-Budget Late Show (KCTU Dancers), Good Morning Wichita, Your Hour, Mouthy Broads, The River City Forum and all the other live or pre-recorded shows were made. Needless to say, I spent countless hours in here. While the equipment wasn't up-to-...

43 Reports in Your Hour - KCTU Newscast - 2012

I was trying to figure out why I had this DVD, and then I realized it was from the first TV show I directed solo at age 16. Here's newsman RJ Dickens and his bottom-of-the-hour newscast as aired on KCTU-TV in Wichita, Kansas, on July 27, 2012 as part of the daily "Your Hour" magazine program. Keep in mind most of the broadcast equipment was from the 80's and 90' (and some from the 60's and 70's).
Booty Swing - KCTU Dancers
Просмотров 37 тыс.5 лет назад
A few years ago, the generous owners of KCTU-TV in Wichita, KS let some teenagers take over their studio and produce and air basically whatever they wanted. This is the result. Using almost no equipment from the 21st century including TV cameras from 1983 and computers not much newer than that, the Low-Budget Late Show was born during the summer of 2014. Here's "Booty Swing" by Parov Stelar fro...

Tribute to Morgan Faulkner

Remembering my friend Morgan Faulkner, who helped me with many shows, including my first film, "The Glob," to a "A KCTU Halloween," the "Riverfest Report," "A KCTU Christmas," and the "Low-Budget Late Show." Without him, many of my videos would probably never exist. I hope this video will help others remember the caring, funny and personal side of Morgan. If you are struggling with thoughts of ...

Cirque Du Soleil's Varekai on "Your Hour"
I love it!!
No CGI? No edits every millisecond? Love it
If someone makes a go back intime machine I'm un to go back in 63 and live only into 79 behon that I careless🙂
We had Great Music these youngsters have no Clue what Great Music is
2024....and suddenly all becomes in 'sex, drugs and regueton' ....
1970?
V.good voice!
Loved these dances from the early to mid 1960's ...
Born in 43 the 50'sand 60's were a blast. I would relive them again. Less B S back then.
My parents were born in 52' and I was born in 86' so I grew up with an appreciation for oldies but jaded by the turn of 21st century. But, I wish I could go back to those long road trips with my family listening to this music you can't find on the radio anymore. (Now with Sirius XM you can listen to the forgotten classics that remind you of your parents divorce and caused your complex PTSD) good times great oldies. Cool Earth 101.1
Amazing. ALL this kids? If they are still alive, they're in the "Home" now...
Anytime I feel blue I watch this clip 😊
When was taped it was unheard of having any other race but Hispanics in México but in America it was blacks Hispanics and Europeans colonizers and the music were black artists 👩🏻🎨
That is not !
Teens in heels to dance is a NO…..🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Love it
Watch the second guy from the left in the front; that kid knew how to do this dance; the other guys in the back seem to lose their footing a few times. This one was not necessarily one of the easier dances to do for many people. Love it!
0:27 did they just hit the griddy
The mash potatoes you had to mash them taters
Isn't the Watusi the one where they alternate the arms going up and down?
Encore great job 👏
what media was this originally recorded on?
I dont know how this ended up in my feed, but im loving it. Ive watched three videos of these kids (adults now i guess) It's got me smiling from ear to ear. I'm loving the guys, they're having so much fun!
What a garbage song.
A pathetic thing to say. Keep your garbage to yourself.
1568 Witting Centers
Look at how happy and how fit they all look. Compare that to what you see in 15 - and sixteen - year - olds that you know now.
Caroline could have danced herself into my heart fifty years ago.
I'm crazy for this song thank you very much
That's not he Watusi. It looks like they threw in a couple of different dances.
No black dancers? This is, after all, the watusi.
Why did they put the better dancers on the back row? The girls at the front are so stiff.
The girl on the right in the polka-dot dress and black leggings is outstanding.
I used to do the tusi, but could never figure out how to do the wa.
Great job, reminds me of better times
Why did the guys wear ties? Ha!
I remember. I was there
White people can’t dance lol
❤I wanna bang Caroline ❤
But no one did the watusi dance 🙁
Flash mob this song.
REALLY THIS SO RACIST NO people of Color DANCING BUT THE SINGERS ARE BLACK I REMEMBER THESE WHITE DAYS where we were not welcomed entitled white people
So you're saying if this was broadcast from Mexico City it would have all colors?
But it was recorded right here in the USA !!duh
@@deliacastillo8741 You are aware this originally aired on a teeny tiny low power regional TV station who's target demographic is as about as diverse as Mexico city?
I’m now officially old and I have to say that life was a lot more fun back then. 🥹
Judging by the camera and clothes and clean, civilized people, this must be 1960’s😊
Innocent America, before it turned... weird. Took its self-celebrated freedom and chose so many of the wrong paths.
Cute
Juventud sana y limpia de aquellos tiempos, nada comparado a lo de hoy 😢
These were all the cool kids back then! *NOT*
😅 did you notice that no one was grabbing their scrotum oh that's right no blacks
I remember this from when I was 3 or 4 years old. I wondered what a Watusi was, {a tribe in africa}.
good vibes, cheers~
cool
