I find this "Woke and Censored Games Alert" group ridiculous as they exaggerate and are "surface-level", at least with their short one liners. I'd understand if the group set it as only informational for the little things like pronoun use and character creation factors, but to not recommend them? That's taking too far. Still, a curation is still a curation; it's still up to the players how they make use of that information. Unless they had more information/context for their one-liner curated games like "DEI Detected" group does, I cannot take their surface-level curations into consideration, or take seriously. I agree with EchoByte mostly for this part only. Checking on their group, they also had Rockman DiveX there, recommended. Going by their surface standards, they could've not recommended it due to having changed a particular summer Roll skin (for the censor part of their name). Anyway, yeah, not the best group for being curated of things that are actually forced by DEI, but I don't know of other groups as an alternative to this kind of "detection". I've not interacted with GoW much so I can't dis/agree with it. You cannot also part away a person from what they love too, even if it has changed. We need proper balance for things hence we push for at least not forcing DEI, else anytime there's not a push the forced DEI might go haywire, amongst other things. You're right that it's not only DEI that could be ruining games, but that's not the topic here either, isn't it; it's only one of the factors. I do not have a problem with inclusion inherently, I want more diverse characters. However, I want them to be well written characters with a purpose in their narrative. The AAA companies making diverse characters do a poor job, and the indies dont, so I buy indie, not AAA.

I think both camps agree on what the issue is. Game devs are scrambling to broaden their audiences by pouring more money into their games, over-blowing the graphics, and hiring people who don’t actually improve the “Game”. Meanwhile the players miss the times when games were just games that were actually enjoyable to play. Game devs are not delivering games anymore, and because of that they are slowly digging themselves deeper debt graves. Because of this, players are lashing out at the contributors whom they see is less valuable in “Game” development. They are trying to save games by pruning the bad roots.
