Tyndall Light Scatter
Просмотров 2628 дней назад
This video is about the Tyndall light scatter theory and how it relates to smoke measurement. The speaker, from the RUclips channel Smokeless Chimney, explains the theory in detail and provides some examples of how it can be used to measure smoke. The speaker starts by explaining the difference between Mie scattering and Tyndall scattering. Mie scattering occurs when the wavelength of light is ...

What pig destroyed the stove like that?
Hello
Thanks for the Hello, how can I assist?
That's a really nifty idea!
i was lucky enough to meet and be this troops guide counselor or host i should say during this specific year at camp fife! it was also my first year being a scout counselor at 17 yrs old! all these years later & i still remember this troop, i loved these kids, they were definitely my favorite bunch that entire year. was a pleasure!
You did a very good job at this role. Not easy being the one in charge with head strong people all over the place. I was very tired from driving all the people and equipment out there. It was a good camp.
This is so very helpful. Thank you. I haven't been able to get it to work. For one, the power light does not stay ON. So I think I got a defective device. Do you concur?
If the unit does not work like the video then I would say the device is not working the same. With this being said , I concur.
What is the resistance in the cables? Doesn't take much to drop the voltage and take forever to charge.
Good question. The main purpose is when trying to program an Arduino or ESP32 no data lines results in no programing or communication. This device does not evaluate line resistance.
Very informative video, I have been learning more about this topic and this was interesting to see. Thank you
Thank you for showing this. I recently downsized from house living into a tight-sealed apartment and I can feel the difference. From what I've been learning, CO2 pools up from the floor bc CO2 is heavier than oxygen and nitrogen. So you'd probably get stronger readings low low. But the point is to have the sensor at the height of your pillow. Mine would be at 2.6 feet sleeping on a futon platform. CO2 would also seep out under door spaces, any low air intakes, and with cold air during winter months. Among other indoor air quality issues, this is one of the toughest to PURGE. Just opening a window might not solve it. What do you think?
CO2 mixes well even in a static room where we sleep. We found that a small window opening reduced the peak value. We are simply proposing more ventilation will lower the Peak CO2 value.
@@Nputaansuu Thanks. Who makes those monitors? I looked for it on your website.
@@mrcuttime22 Rick, I found these on ebay. Look for any NDIR type of CO2 meter. NDIR is nondispursive infrared
Disband the EPA!
You must not be old enough to remember smog
@@o1all960 Denver was pretty smoggy
Good experiments, thanks for posting. I'd love to learn more about your sensing and control set up and hope you might make some videos with the details of the microcontrollers and sensors. Is the pm2.5 monitor commercial or a sensor attached to the microcontroller? Thanks again.
The PM 2.5 is a separate sensor with a PMS5003 and it has its own display. The output is digital and not easy to integrate into the data system.

Legal now without that placard , courts ruled EPA overstep of authority.
Thank you for the comment. There was a recent court decision, I am unclear how this impacts the placard. I will research.
@@Nputaansuu basically I’m saying that Obama’s epa overstepped it’s authority, again !
Just replace the jack with one that lifts more weight and you wont have that problem anymore. From the land down under😶🌫
I looked at doing this and yes it is possible. The dimension and specs of the jacks I could find either would not lower enough or would not fit in the space.
Do you still use this lift? I'm interested in a few of these type haulers and welcome your opinion.
Yes. I will carry 2 of my 3 cycles. The 400 lbs limit is the key.
Wow i´m honored by this video thank you very much for making this!
Thanks for the praise.
I found this out recently because I kept waking up during the night, but I don't have sleep apnoea. Keeping my window open at all times solved if for me
I need one like that
What wheel chock did you add? Did it install into factory pre-drilled holes?
Simple wheel chock from Amazon. I would rather not have it on there. It does help when riding it on and holding it. I can power it off that side. If I could I could do it all by myself.
mmmmm carbon
Thanks for heads up. Another safety hazard I see is the way you wired the plug. Those individual wires need to be shortened. And not exposed
Did the switch malfunction and get stuck on?
I have not used it since. I need to repair the points on the end. I always wonder if it did. I do recall that hitting that switch makes a low noise and an arc. I think it energizes the coil in preparation. I recommend unplugging when not using.
Do you have a link to the BMS board you are using?
I simply look on Ebay and Amazon. There are two types and they often change price and supplier. look for 3 cell 12v BMS
@@Nputaansuu Ok. Thank you!
Nice work. Agree that Fusion can be a real pain initially. I have a few months in and think I’m over the hump. As a transportation engineer I appreciate the retro reflectivity! Will have to incorporate that myself.
Very good, thanks for the comment
What levels / ppm of co2 in a bedroom is bad for us whilst sleeping?
I would opine that CO2 over 1200 PPM is not desired. Cognitive ability starts to diminish above that level.
above 3000 ppm and your cognitive ability decreases by a margin of 50%
SOLVED the problem on my V20. I had the same problem with my LG V20 phone and my Mavic Mini. I downloaded ALL of the fly apps dji has on Google Play store, set them all up, and let them run in the background. THEN dji Fly would connect for me! Now, the only app I need to first run in the background to get it to work is the dji Pilot app. I run dji Pilot first, then run dji fly. This kind of stuff really is pathetic. What is WRONG with this company??? The LG V20 is on their approved device list!
Just wondering if you ever had any success? My experience has been similar to yours--same LG V20 phone--months of trying to get it to work properly. No real help from DJI. I see there is another gentleman on youtube also with an LG V20; he gave up, bought a used Pixel 2 and has had no problems since. ruclips.net/video/Uot0PX7bO9Q/видео.html
I've had issues with this as well. It's something to do with the way the V20 charges, and can be set to data only/ charge only/charge other device. Its only for android 8, no issue with the older version of android. You might find that it will work if your phone is at 100% battery so not trying to charge.
its filter washable? and if not when you know to change the filter
It is a dry paper filter with activated carbon. I don't think washing the filter will be effective. I also think the business model is to sell more filters.
i try to order it on amazon but they do not sent it too my location the filter
@@shamon1351 That is a bummer. An older filter still filters the air even better, It may not flow as much air.
it is that cellphone, I'm having the same problem with that cellphone, I think I'm gonna change it.
I'm almost certain you were trying to mill 1050 aluminum or similar, which is super soft and gummy. The alloy is almost pure aluminum which makes it not really suitable for machining due to the softness, it makes too much burr and melts too quickly. Picking the right type of aluminum is really important, 6061 or 6082 are good choices. It also took me several endmills to make this conclusion :)
A little late but you prolly already know this but if you selct a face and then click the down arrow under you orientation icon in the corner of the window you can say selct this as face. And change the orientation that way
Hey thanks... whats the name of that system wherd you get it? and coast?
I bought this years ago. the name is MX Ultimate MX Hauler Ramp , The limit is 450 pounds. I don't recall the business that sold it.
Interesting results - that was a very quick reaction. The smoke does look to circulate a lot from blowing out the candles, I wonder if the heat convection from the flames carries some soot up and away from the sensor beforehand?
I was looking at the convective flow of gases as well. There were some tests that did not transition as quickly, however, I needed a quick one for the video. Consistently open flame produces significantly lower PM than smoldering.
Thanks for the heads up I won’t be buying one of these harbor freight is a hit or miss store you have to remember that
Thanks for the comment. I think this is an okay tool. The only caution is not leaving it plugged in for long periods of time.
Interesting. But an example of your chimney output after the trial would have been good. And definitive. To show you were actually inside the legal limit of "opacity" (which is rather subjective.....). Despite that. Thumbs up. Side note.... I try to burn clean. But where I live... haha. It is a joke.Nobody cares. They buy wood in the fall and burn it wet. Sad. stcoemgen.com/2012/12/20/the-smokeout/
Hello. Thanks for the comment. I have other videos showing my chimney output. Look for them on my channel. If you can't find them send me a note, I will find a way to post them.
Nazis there too huh? So how do they measure the 20%? I am going through this here in kalifornia. They warned me but how in the heck do you follow the law? They only give us 15 minutes for a fresh load of wood.
They use the Ringelmann scale developed in 1888. There are more modern methods, however, if it is a government official they normally need to stay on the street and do a visual measurement in daylight.
I like the design. Looks like enough space for your knees under the bench. I made the mistake of building one of my work benches with shelving right to the front, so not comfortable for sitting at.
Yes. Thanks for the comment. I am 6'2" and when my chair is jacked up, I can still put my hands on my lap and my knee don't reach the shelves.
Great video. Thanks for sharing.
Interesting applications. I had a little trouble hearing you at some points though through the noise but it was great to see how you approach your work. A screenshot of your speeds and feeds occasionally would help us newbies get a sense of what works well. Cheers
Thank you. Yes talking over the spindle was not a great idea. I will work in a feeds and speeds video.
For aluminum you need low rpm / high feed to prevent the tool from heating up too much which causes the smearing and clogging of the tool. Another way is to use trochoidal milling - it works with a much larger range of feeds and speeds: ruclips.net/video/ORJ-Q3TFW5o/видео.html
I'm a total novice, but could the issue be the spindle rotating too fast, and not allowing the bit to bite into the material? PS: audio is waaaay better 👍👍
Thanks for the comment. Your Normalize comment helped me get my audio dynamic under control. As far as technical feedback, look at these links, I used the video to stimulate some discussion and I like the comments. www.reddit.com/r/CNC/ www.reddit.com/r/CNC/comments/9i4uwl/bit_carnage_i_obtained_a_sheet_of_aluminum_and/
Nputaansuu great technical discussion there on reddit, thanks for sharing
Good content, but please normalise the audio. Your voice levels are so low so I had to turn the volume right up and then the music obliterated my ears!!! :(
I agree, the music is so loud, I use a good mic, however, the music is so loud, I was at my brother's house and the on his sound system it blew us off the couch. I use desk top speakers and hear the transition. Do you think I should re master it? It is a bit surprising when the sound is so dynamic.
Nputaansuu haha yeah. You might need to increase gain on the mic. Anyway, you should be able to 'normalise' each audio clip in your editing software (usually a simple click of a button). Then everything will match. I'm just getting started with CNC, so I like the content. Cheers
that was really cool
