did you really enjoy HW then too? Have you per chance played through Guild Wars 2? there are a LOT of dragons in that one. Sadly the story doesn't stack up as much to ffxiv but it is a theme.

@@QuietlyPlaysGamesTV I kind of had mixed feelings about HWs story. I found myself more so sympathizing with the "villains" of the story than I did for the Elezens. It was a good expansion don't get me wrong but the story and some of the scenes in it had me 2nd guessing myself a lot about if we were actually doing the right thing 😂and yeah I did play GW2 some but I never really got to into it I think I finished the base games story then kind of never touched it again despite buying literally all of the expansions for it lmao

@@Voltage256 core story in gw2 is... rough. rougher than arr. I'm planning a playthrough of it after i get farther into ffxiv and am kind of dreading it ngl. GW1 story though is a lot of fun. idk, its worth testing out if you give it another try. the combat system is sooooo good in gw2. when I played hw (last expac I played in ffxiv) I sat on the edge too as far as I remember. But I think that makes sense in the story, since we find out who the big bad of the elezens is.

@QuietlyPLAYS Yeah I loved the combat system in GW2 it felt so smooth and well done. I might hop back in it at some point I don't even know why I stopped playing it honestly lol I enjoyed it a lot but just for some reason never picked it up again. Just 1 thing that bugged me was the grind it took just to unlock my mount. Also this is a hot take from me but *I HATE Estienien.*

@@Voltage256 you get mounts very quickly in gw2 now. You get raptor from owning EOD and they give skyscale with Soto now too.

@QuietlyPLAYS In Witcher 3 he was 98 years old but that makes sense considering Witchers typically live to be centuries years old 😂 but yeah I suppose by then your body wouldn't be holding up to well lmao. Probably why he decided to retire at the end of Witcher 3 😂

I played for the first time back when endwalker launched. Ended up quitting after HW because I was distracted by other games. I’m really enjoying the slow playthrough of the story this time. I ended up doing all of arr and HW in less than a month last time. It was pretty crazy.

From what i've heard of it, the story used to be a lot grindier so I definitely lucked out in terms of ARR. This is my second time playing through it, the first time I played I only ever made it through HW, so I do know up to the HW story. Compared to HW its definitely not as story but I won't lie, ARR does its JOB. Which is to introduce people to the world and get them into the story. The pacing isn't horrible, the characters need a bit more depth maybe, but overall its not a bad part of the story overall. I think it's just not as strong as the others and has a bad rep that makes people have a bad opinion!

You can launch cows from the trebs! it puts a poison cloud on the ground that leaks/takes away your supply!

You're right, gw2 players need a hype man to get them confident enough to tag and make parties!

its kind of cool, I wonder if it references like a lot of the lore behind the charr & human fighting plus the general cow thing is just cool

@@QuietlyPlaysGamesTV I found lore, easter eggs and general references everywhere, but this is fun: the fact that I missed things means that I still have to look harder! This game sometimes is really a gem!
