The Wyzenbeek & Staff mobile grinder [restoration]
Today we have a WYCO grinder from the early 50's, this contraption caught my eye simply because I had never seen anything like it. It was heavily rusted but still worked great. I didn't show the striping and rust removal in this video because it just took me to long to deal with all the rust and would have made the video way to long. Also I don't have any attachment heads for the grinder so the testing is pretty simple, just showing that it works. I'm not sure if ill ever head attachments for it but its still a cool piece of vintage machinery. I hope yall enjoy the restoration.

1960's DELTA Power lite #RESTORATION, and upgrade!
Просмотров 1 тыс.3 года назад
Today we have a classic 1960's Delta power lite restoration and upgrade. Its a pretty straight forward restoration, strip, prime, paint. The bottom was pretty much rusted out and the front lense was missing so I purchased a donor lite to replace those parts. I upgraded the battery to two 4 volt 18650 batteries wiring them in parallel to give me 8 volts and with the LED bulbs these batteries sho...
1930's Delta 620 [Restoration] complete
Просмотров 1,7 тыс.3 года назад
Finally we complete the Delta 620, pretty straight forward restoration. I went with matt black for the paint, seems to be my go to color but i love the way the bare metal looks on matt black. So thanks for coming by, feel free to ask any questions and as always give me a like or sub if you'd like to see more.
1930's Delta model 620 [Restoration] part 1 break down and strip
Просмотров 8313 года назад
Thanks for stopping by, today we have the Delta model 620 first introduced in the 1931 delta catalog for a whopping 16.95 minus the motor but with the pulleys and belt included. Due to this one not having a mount for the whats now referred to as a retirement lamp this particular piece would be dated between 1931 to 1935. Additionally, the head of this model was not made of the tough and heavy c...
1950s Soviet antique fan restoration
Просмотров 5693 года назад
Today we have a great piece, a 1950s Soviet antique fan restoration. I found this piece while browsing around looking for my next project and it was so cool i had to have it. to me it looks like one of those old microphone's from the 50's you'd see Elvis singing from. Anyway this is a complicated restoration pretty much just a strip and paint and rebuild as all parts were in good condition. I'v...
Vintage Dunlap hand plane/planer Restoration, The best hand plane restoration on the interwebs!
Просмотров 3,6 тыс.3 года назад
In this restoration video we take this beautiful hand plane and restore it to better than brand new style. Now I admit I know jack about hand planes and have never used one but I've always loved the simplicity of the tool and how long they have been around. this one may end up as a paper weight but at least its a good looking paper weight. I didn't bother much with the blade because the current...

Просмотров 7 тыс.4 года назад
In this restoration video we have a 1930's delta double duty motor that we are going to restore and add the the 1937 Delta DP220 drill press. its a pretty straight forward restoration, take it apart, clean it, check all parts for functionality, throw some paint at it and reassemble it. Nothing to crazy, it was a fun process and i decided to go all flat black and forgo the machinery gray that yo...

1937 Delta Rockwell "DP 220" drill press restoration [part 2]
Просмотров 4,9 тыс.4 года назад
Here's part 2 of our antique Delta Rockwell drill press restoration. After stripping a thousand layers of paint we finally hit bare metal. We did some weld repairs to the base plate as there were a few to many holes for my liking. The welds didn't come out perfect but hey i never claimed to be a good welder. Also we had to repair a cracked base, I assume old age and rough use eventually cracked...

This is what was called a retirement lamp it was an add on option for the early model Delta drill press and will be added to my finished Delta"DP 220" drill press. The switch was working due to varnished contact point so we had to open that up by drilling out the set rivet, thank fully we got it all back together and in like new working order. I hope you enjoy the video. As always if you have a...
1930's Delta Rockwell "DP220" drill press restoration [Part 1]

Here we have, I believe 1937 Delta drill press commonly called the DP 220. I will do a period correct restoration on it in a multi part series. We are going to strip it to bare metal, polish paint and have it looking better than new. These things were built like a tank and should easily last another 90 years. As always please like and subscribe to help support this channel.
1950's art deco styled air compressor [restoration].
Просмотров 3,7 тыс.4 года назад
Here is a 50's period air compressor styled in that beautiful art deco look and made by craftsman as a do it at home inflation system, not much else could be done with it. Its weak for sure but the styling and look of it caught my attention and I had to bring it back. So I stripped it down, luckily the piston and piston sleeve looked great so I wasn't pressed to take it all the way down. I gave...

I hand brush my planes so I don't have to deal with the taping. I really don't see the advantage of spraying (IMO).

Greetings, nice work on the restoration. I have completed one similar for an old table saw but mine was wired with a reversing switch. I bought a replacement switch with 4 terminals and a replacement power cord with 3 conduits like yours. I have four conduits coming from the motor. I know the green ground goes to the shell of the motor, but I was wondering if you know where the other wires should be connected to the switch terminal? There are 2 wires coming off the wire winding and 2 coming off the front of the motor in the little access panel for the capacitor and then the 3 for the power cord. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Your attention to detail is noteworthy. However I believe that 5/16 carriage bolts were originally used to mount the motor. Also it appeared that you installed coupling nuts on the motor draw bolts for no clear reason.

Very early machine, late 20’s possibly. Good resto as far as it went, but the base is backwards. And of course no v belt or motor. So you still have work to do.

This is great. There is a video of another guy beating the heck out of multiple parts with a hammer, made me nearly sick. This method is much safer so as not to destroy the machine. I recently acquired a 1941 DP220 14" bench and am ready to disassemble the head, glad I found this video. Unfortunately my press is missing the needle indicator and the needle indicator mount/button. Really stinks, not sure what to do other than buy another press. My understanding is the needle holder has some spring inside it and should never be removed. Just my luck. All I have is a hole where it used to be. Oh well.

Beautiful restoration job. I love the flat black with the bronze lettering. Looks much better than what ever colors came from the factory. I am restoring an old UK DP that is very similar. How did you get rid of the arch of shame on the table and restore the base to such immaculate condition?

I was about to comment on the gold leafing, then I saw you beating on the spindle bearing with a steel wrench, are you kidding, don’t you think a brass hammer would have been the appropriate tool? I restored the same drill press, painted it blue and polished all the steel, including the column to the point it almost looked like chrome. Sold it the first day I posted it to Craigslist, $375. Didn’t have the retirement light.

Is that Citristrip you’re using on the large pieces? If so, do you just use it for paint removal or is it good for other uses like rust removal? Lastly, is the purple liquid you used on the smaller components a degreaser? Sorry for all the questions. As far as making quality restoration videos, you’re f’n crushing it. I finally started the restoration of my 1933 Delta Triple Duty drill press this past weekend and I can’t say thanks enough for the three videos you made restoring yours. They’re the main visual reference aide I’m using so thanks again. Have a good one and lookin forward to more videos.

So the dunlap plane was made by sargent. The ovel hole that the chip breaker has is one pice of the history the other is part the blade sits on, looks like the sargent no. 409 I just got. The restore job looks great. If you do one more ( yes you will, lol ) try using primer first. It will fill some of the pits. Best of luck.
