Once the wealthiest have advanced A.I. and robotics to the point that they don't need the rest of humans..... they'll just find a way to eliminate the majority of the rest of humans. Billionaires have been building underground bunkers in record numbers. My guess.... is that they are going to unleash an incurable disease on the world AFTER they all go hide in their bunkers. And then they'll wait it out until the majority of the rest of humans have died off.

I always feel weird when I hear we need to “create” job/work. One hundred years ago a famous economist predicted ongoing automatization would give people more leisure time and need to work only 15 h/week by 2030. Do we take control of technology and use as a gift to humanity or let corporate greed control the world? Finally we are living the time people can work not for money but because they believe it creates value to society, while enjoying plenty of free time.

Why is this considered a "warning"??? Also, people don't need to work at a job for someone else (an employer) to gain social gratification and meaning in life. They can find that through volunteer work, efforts at self-employment (even if not gaining high income), even spending time with friends, family, and social groups.

I am pretty sure many people don't enjoy the jobs they do, and the ones that do enjoy it are a small number of people. UBI will be a big extra help, and not every job is enjoyable; some are toxic with the bosses and workers, which equals so much stress, which is not good for one's mental health even if they are earning money.

Jobs ARE concerning. They absolutely are. Try looking for a job and get back to me. And I don't mean fast food. Or as something like an APRN. My concern about the Trump admin attempting to implement a UBI is that they would do so by elimination of ALL government services (including health care), and toss people a measly check that isn't equal to that amount instead, while making the payment too low (like $300 a month) under the guise the government cannot afford it and is in too deep of debt.

Not a chance in Hell that Trump will support a UBI. Trump LOVES to see the poor and working classes struggling and suffering.

We need an AI Dividend or UBI NOW! Retraining people won't help the situation. You cannot retrain people against being out competed by an AI more intelligent and capable than they are. The whole paradigm of human labor being used to determine who gets what, or who gets the basic resources we need to survive, needs to change!

AI will take over all human jobs and UBI is a must, UBI is may not solve all problem but still better than nothing. Beside that we will have AGI soon or by 2029
