Linville Gorge Hike
Parked at Bynum Bluff trail (□) and walked up to Cabin Trail (◇◇) along Old 1501 and hiked Cabin trail down to Linville Gorge to Bynum Bluff, back to car. Great loop and I got to test out my bionic hamstring and gimpy knees.

Backpacking on Spence Ridge Trail, Linville Gorge
Просмотров 197Год назад
My first solo backpacking test run to prepare for several others trips planned this year. This was a very good way to ease into backpacking after recovering from injury. Not a lot of elevation, no switchbacks and no rocky outcroppings to climb over. This trail is on the eastern rim of the gorge.

Camping in Linville Gorge Wilderness Area
Famous forest gump curb??
That looks really good. Were you camping when you cooked that steak?
Nice little trip for your first time backpacking! Did you not bring food because of a fear of bears? I know it’s every new backpackers journey getting accustomed to the idea of sharing the forest with apex predators. But … I don’t think I’ve ever once heard of a black bear invading a camp and killing a person. Try to temper those fears with stats like that. If it has happened before, it’s an EXCEEDINGLY rare occurrence. Hope ya get out again! 🎉
Hi there and thanks for watching and the comment! It's been eons since I backpacked. I've seen black bears in Pisgah before, but they have always run away. A man was attacked last year on a trail so at best I try not to encourage bear visits. I'm saving that bodily harm for an alligator near the coast. 😂 I'm doing the best I can after being scarred for life watching The Revenant. I just went car camping 2 weeks ago near Asheville, NC and it was cold and lovely. I look forward to seeing your videos. Thanks for the kind words.
I always enjoy your videos and appreciate your love of nature. Nice camping trip.
@@Highlander9740 Thanks for watching, pal! Hope you are able to get out some. I'll be going again in May. Can't wait.
Sweet little dog. One of the best caming trip videos I've ever watched. Good job. I'm viewing videos about the Pee Dee River because of my Great grandmother who was brought in on a steam (slave) ship on the Pee Dee River. However, I'm loving watching the peaceful videos and the scenic views. Thank you.
Thank you! This video helped me decide which campsite to book. We had a great time! ❤
Which campsite did you book ?
Camping is such a cozy time away from everyday stress.
Melts away. We really loved this campground.
Dogs add life to our lives and adventures.
I know!!! They are amazing.
You have a cute dog😘
Thank you. She is my precious baby.🥰
That's the best part of a camping trip, waking up in the morning in the woods with the day ahead of you.
Yes indeed!
The Grandfather is good for your soul.
Yes indeed!
It's the first time I've watched this video. It seems almost supernatural, whatever it is.
This is a starlapse setting on my 360 camera and runs for several hours taking photos every few minutes.
If chicken cracklings tasted as good as the skin on fried chicken, it would be alright.
They tried to flavor them like pork rinds and it just didn't work. Maybe another brand will be different.
May it be the first of many great trips for you in 2023.
Thanks
The mountains truly are beautiful even in winter.
Yes and very peaceful.
❤❤❤
Beautiful place long walk from the parking lot to the mile high bridge though lol and you can't forget Forrest Gump
Yes indeed! I got there early and it was during the week, so not too bad of a walk. I also covered Forreeesssssst in the long video.😆 Thanks for visiting.
I very much enjoyed your video and I wish you the best of times on your future trips. The mountains truly are beautiful and even the air is special in the mountains.
Thanks bunches! It's one of my favorite places to camp and this time is great is amazing.
Any campsite on the lake is nice out there. We always like 25 since it is near the water and near the bath house. I'm glad you had a nice time.
Thanks for your comment. Very beautiful campground, indeed.
Nice! How long was it running?
I ran it overnight attached to a battery pack while I was sleeping. Not sure how long, but It took 374 photos. I think the photos are taken around a minute apart maybe, but not quite sure.
